Droste Cocoa Powder, 8.8 Ounce

This makes the best hot cocoa. Been buying this brand for years. I use one level tablespoon per 10 oz. of milk. I fill the mug 1/2 full, dump the cocoa in mug (don't mix), microwave for 55 seconds. Then wisk the cocoa. Add the other half and put in microwave for 1 minute. Whisk. And voila hot cocoa. Add a few mini marshmallows and whipped cream. YUM!!! And not all the additives of instant cocoa and cheaper.

The best cocoa powder ever. Rich and smooth, dissolves well. I am sorry it doesn't appear to be sold on Amazon any more.

I usually buy Ghiradelli and it's good but oh my! America's Test Kitchen ranked this above several others including Ghiradelli so I thought I'd try it for the brownies I was making for my son's birthday dinner. Immediately upon opening the package I could see and smell the difference. When I was mixing the brownie batter I knew they'd be amazing, the batter was almost black. I was using a vegan recipe and they were still rich and decadent, fudgy and so chocolatey. ATK was right, this is far superior to any other cocoa I've used. It is a little pricey at over $8 a box but it is well worth it. I would have attached a picture but they're all gone.

For Christmas, we had a lot of family over; because we planned on spending a lot of time outdoors at night, we thought serving hot coco would be fun, and it was; people enjoyed it a lot. But that started us on a quest to find the best cocoa. We tested about 8 different kinds and in the end, the clear favorite is Droste. It is reasonably price, it is Dutch processed cocoa, it mixes better with milk than any other brand we tried, it does not come pre-mixed with sugar allowing you to develop the sweetness profile you like best, and it has one of the best flavors. I grew up drinking this coca. It is used in baking and in pudding. I love a good foreign chocolate. This is over 100 years old. It has proven itself. It is rich and dark. Easy to dip in and get. It dissolves daily. Many bakers use this product.

I have only used this on chocolate cake, so far. The powder I used in the cake was cheap, store brand powder. The powder in the cake does not matter as much as the powder in the frosting (in my opinion). This powder tastes much better than store brand or even the popular name brands. I wish I could give this a 4.5 rating. I didn’t give it a 5 because I suspect there are cocoa powders that taste better. The cost is probably much higher, too. I had an awful time opening the package. The bag that the powder is in, does not separate from the box. It is hard to seal up the bag. The bag and the box ripped!!!

Very hard to find, but it's the best still

This is the same brand my family have used for generation in multiple countries. It is perfect for cooking, baking and drinks.Pure, and excellent quality.And it is always the same quality! ( Also it doesn`t go through multiple chains from manufacturer to different distributors to the customer) Here I my favorite drink( enjoy it hot or with some vanilla ice cream in the summer/in that case leave out the sugar/): use a 2 cup size glass or mug, what is microwave safe. Put 1 1/2 inch water ( preferably hot), mix in 1 teaspoon Droste cocoa powder and 3 teaspoon sugar.I use icetea spoons for my tall glasses,which are my favorite for this drink.Mix well. Fill the rest of the cup with your choice of milk. In my opinion, the best is whole organic milk for this drink, and better for kids also.Microwave it for 2 minutes, until hot and well incorporated. For children add a big spoon of real whipping cream( whipped with a couple spoonful of sugar) to make a huge foamy top. Absolutely perfect and delicious in the fall or winter!ish You can also cook the hot cocoa on the stowe top, just use the same ratio of ingredients and do not leave the dish unattended( best to stir continuously)That would be the classic version of hot cocoa making. For adults or for special occasions and extra cold nights - add a small shot of dark rum and enjoy! Absolutely heaven, and you will sleep like a baby!

Ottimo cacao, ne abbiamo provati tanti ma questo lo usiamo da prima ancora che amazon esistesse e continuiamo a riprenderlo. Ha un gusto molto intenso, ne basta veramente poco. Persino un banale latte e cacao con questo prodotto acquisisce una densità e profondità di gusto diversa rispetto alle altre polveri di cacao. La spedizione costa un po' ma ne vale la pena, trattandosi di un prodotto che dura comunque nel tempo.

Best cocoa ever, but can't buy it any more. Price has reached sky high.
