I have been needing an external Blu-ray drive for a while now and I'm so glad to have gone with this option as it has all of the features I was looking for. This Blu-Ray drive has good quality and multiple features that I can access when looking through DVDs. The fact that it's USB type-c is very helpful when I'm looking to connect the drive to my computer. I don't even need a tv to look through all of my old files anymore which is very convenient. I really like how it has this feature so that I can view all of my DVDs straight through my laptop. The base of the drive is strong which is great for my traveling needs. The 5 ports on this device allow for a smooth connection with my other devices and I found it very useful when actively looking through my files. Overall, it is a high quality device at a fair price point that has worked well for me without any issues.

A very old drive trying to pass off as new. At best it is new old stock. The one I received has successfully read ZERO discs. Curious, I opened up the case and found they had taken an old drive and put a black sticker overtop the manufacturer label. Peeled it back and saw a manufacturing date of May 2010 on a unit purchased in October 2025! Delving in deeper, it has a micro USB 3 connector. But the only thing that gets USB3 speed is the useless card reader slots. The 4 pin USB to SATA adapter for the drive can't be anything more than USB2. JUNK!!!

First we'll start with my only negative note; the housing quality leaves something to be desired. It's entirely plastic that has significant flex when holding it in your hand. If it weren't for the corrugated pattern, this may have even more play. With that out of the way, the drive works as expected. In both my Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Unexpectedly, when plugging in, the drive comes up as an HP device. Playing a DVD worked fine, from a standard data disc to a DVD movie. Seeking across the video is normal which seems to mean the data exchange is transferring normally. This was also the case with a standard Blu-ray movie. The big bonus is the extra ports, both USB and memory card ports. This is effectively a small hub in a external disc drive. Overall, while this lacks a quality housing it makes up in versatility. I've previously purchased branded external writers for double if not more of this units price. The external ports work as expected. I just couldn't recreate some of the issues other reviewers were having so test your unit for full functionality before settling in it, even if it's a component you don't anticipate using. This is worth 4-stars.

Works fine on Manjaro. Reads DVDs and CDs Bluray disk need a bit of work if you want the menu. USB ports work and so do the SD and micro-SD ports.

I’m a glutton for punishment, so when the drive didn’t want to work for me initially, I kept messing with it until it did. It’s still a little picky, sometimes not wanting to read a disc on the first try, and giving me an error on the first disc I burnt despite working fine a moment later, but all in all it’s pretty good. Next time, I’ll probably spend the money on a better drive, like the LG external burner I had before this, but as long as this one’s working I’m satisfied. Just be warned you may have to put some time an effort into it before it works as well as you’d like it to.

WE had to replace my hard drive, and the new one did not have the CD access. We were going to have to buy a new computer or find an external drive. This fit the bill perfectly. Now I can still play my dvds and cds on my existing computer . Saved me alot of money

Não roda blu-ray com facilidade. O manual é confuso. E o funcionamento não é amigável, p. ex., aparelho desliga sozinho. Indicado apenas para DVD.
