An ideal board for a hobbyist AI server
The X99 MR9S motherboard turned out to be a solid choice. It booted up immediately with an E5-2667 v4 processor and four sticks of server-grade DDR4 RAM. It instantly recognized my Samsung 980 Pro NVMe drive and booted the OS. It fit perfectly into a standard ATX case. Despite using older CPU and memory technology, this setup is perfectly suitable as a primary workstation—you wouldn't be ashamed to have it sitting on your desk. There is a bit of a trick regarding the name: while "X99" usually refers to the chipset, here it is just the model name; the actual chipset is the B85, though I didn't notice any downside to that in practice. The biggest advantage is the presence of two genuine x16 slots. For an AI server, this allows you to install two Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 16GB cards, giving you a total of 32GB of VRAM for running local AI models! I had never used a Machinist motherboard before, but this one looks and performs well. It has eight memory slots, but if you are using four modules, you must install them in the first four (the black ones); the board won't boot if you use the gray slots instead. All in all, my first experience with the X99 MR9S was very positive. I recommend it, especially if you need a server for running local AI models.

Motherboard works as expected
Motherboard works as expected, there is a m2 slot that only works for sata M2 which is how this chipset works.

Worked, but not an X99
It works fine with my Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 and 128Gb DDR4 2400. However, product title says X99 but that doesn't refers to its chipset, it's just part of its model number. The MoBo is an Intel B85 chipset, not Intel X99. If you want/need an Intel X99 chipset, DON'T BY THIS MOTHERBOARD!

Badly supported
Drivers and support files are very limited. It's a cheaply made motherboard with poor support. MSI makes better x99 motherboards

Keine M.2 Festplatte erkannt
Der MACHINIST LGA 2011-3 Motherboard, Intel X99 (Intel 5./6th Gen) ist eine alternative wenn SATA Festplatten benutzt aber es taugt nicht wenn man M.2 Festplatten benutzten will. Es erkannte keine einzige M.2 Festplatte, ausprobiert habe ich Gen. 2.0 Western Digital und Samsung, zudem habe ich auch Gen. 3.0 & 4.0 von Samsung ausprobiert. Alles war erfolglos Bios Umstellung hat auch zur kein Ergebnis geführt, mir war nichts anderes übrig geblieben als es zurück zu schick
