This kit got me started affordably in my foray into art and practical ceramics. To be clear, this is primarily for throwing clay. Though some of these tools will be useful for hand-builders, they are mostly for use at the pottery wheel. I have added to my kit and replaced some items, but months of use later and I believe every tool I received is still in good shape and working. They are not the highest quality tools, which is not a criticism. Know that generally you will pay as much for a single high-quality tool as this entire kit costs. But they will definitely fill the bill if you are a potter on a budget or a beginner testing the waters.

I bought this set to work with clay, cold porcelain, and modeling paste, and I’m really impressed with the quality. The kit comes well organized, with a wide variety of tips and tools that make it easy to sculpt, carve, texture, and add fine details. The wooden handles are comfortable to hold and don’t slip, even after hours of use. The wire tools and spatulas have the right strength for both delicate details and larger shapes. I also appreciate the cleaning tools included and the convenient case to keep everything tidy. Perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists, since it covers all the essential needs and more. Excellent value for the price.

It is with great reluctance that I utter the existence of this kit—let alone commend the fine craftsmanship of its utensils. The sculpting this kit dutifully aids is a noble art demanding great strength, patience, and intellect. This ambition exists far beyond the delicate constitution of the fairer lady, whose hands are fashioned—by the Almighty no less!—for embroidery, not grizzly acts such as chiseling of stone or molding of clay. Every tool within this kit is of superior workmanship; their heft and sturdiness are well suited for men of industry and vision. A woman attempting to wield these implements would soon find herself overburdened, her fragile limbs trembling beneath arduous strain, brow stained with the sweat of indignation. Indeed, well displayed within our last electoral contest, that a woman’s mind was not fashioned for the exertions of the high table, let alone the exertions of artistic genius, but rather for the sweet and simple duties of home and hearth. The very thought of undertaking the molding of clay rather than baking bread is enough for me to snort! Should a misguided lady find this kit in her possession, I would urge her husband to force her to reconsider. I do recall, with no small measure of dismay, the day when I discovered my betrothed had been indulging in a dalliance with the clay. Though it first came afoot during our initial meet the day of our arranged union, nonetheless proved most unsettling, even though it filled her pockets greatly. Before night’s fall, I ensured that such a covert pursuit would be ended promptly. My reasoning, sturdy as my fortitude, is that exposure to artistic study may divert vital energy from her reproductive organs, leading to a decline in feminine charms. A sculpting kit in the clutches of a woman is as absurd as a voting ballot in her tiny grasp—both invite chaos and undermine the sanctity of civility and our civilization. Gentlemen, to you I would recommend this kit wholeheartedly— and to you alone. Allow your wives and daughters to admire your kit and masterful work from afar. Their eyes will alight with admiration as they recognize, once again, the vast chasm between the masculine mind, built for creation, and the feminine soul, built for devotion. Great for my polymer clay projects. Doing miniatures so I needed tiny tools to do detailing. Works great. Price is very reasonable. Great for beginners, easy to clean and work with. Durability is the only thing that concerns me and only for a few pieces. The blue plastic ones with the silicone tips, a couple of them had the tips come off but they were easy to put back on and a little glue would fix that issue so it’s fine.

My daughter abso loves her clay work and these tools are so great. She loves them.

I have a very creative child. she wanted air model clay so also ordered her shaping tools she loved the colors quick look she knew the tool b the color she is 10. the tools are plastic so no worry of hurting her self she is very small for her age. they are easy to use she had zero complaints. they are small for small hands. don't break easy. her 5 year old cousin played with her with playduh and zero issues.

this set is excellent for beginner students of ceramics!! it has everything i needed for my first semester of ceramics at college. i was able to use some of the tools for sculpture class, too! each item in this set is functional and cutting tools were sharp and helpful. everything fit perfectly into the provided zippered case!!
