The best earphones I have bought

These Technic earbuds are surprisingly good. I've been a Sony XM4 and now XM5 user for a few years now and didn't think anything out there could rival them. But after using the Technics EAH-AZ80-Ks for the better part of a week now, I have to admit they are starting to be my new 'go to' earphones for everything. One of the big things I REALLY like is the 3-device multi-point connectivity feature. I have my Windows PC, my iPhone 15 Pro Max and my iPad Pro as my main devices. And the hand off for each device is flawless. The sound rivals my Sony XM5s too! Maybe not as much deep bass as the Sony XM4s but I still love the sound quality overall. Plus there is no sound cut-offs like I'm experiencing with the Sony XM-5s. They look great in your ear and even though they're a bit larger than the Sony XM5s their low-profile design doesn't stick out of your ears too far either and that concha thing really does a great job of nestling inside you ear comfortably. The only thing I wish is the battery life would be longer. I'm getting around 6-7 hours with ANC on. For me its only a small thing, you can get another hour or so of playback after charging for a few minutes and I have my Sonys available to switch to while its charging. So if you're in the market for new earphones, give these a look, you won't be disappointment. **Update 12/7/2023 - I bought the silver color a couple of weeks ago so I now have both colors. Its great, if one needs to be recharged I can just pop the other one in. I'm officially moving on from my Sony XM4s and XM5s to the Technics EAH-AZ80s as my official earbuds of choice. The new Sony XM5s are having sound drop outs because of where my Windows laptop is positioned on my desk. If I even move my head a certain way, the XM5s continually cut-out and I've gotten fed up with that. The older XM4s don't have that problem though, strange, I would've thought a newer product wouldn't have those issues. I'll still use the new Sony XM5s with my iPhone and iPad Pro when I'm out and about though, just not at my desk with the Windows desktop computer anymore. And I have no intention of moving my Windows laptop just because a pair of earbuds can't keep a stable reception. But these Technics have no problems keeping that Bluetooth connection even when I move my head back and forth between my Mac and PC laptop, its' nice and stable. And the sound is wonderful, just as good as my Sony XM4 and XM5 earbuds. And the fit is great, they feel very snug and comfortable in my ear.

Wow. I have been getting earbuds and earphones for years, and been a loyal Sony fan for years. In 2020, I bought the WF-1000XM3, which were great but didn't stay in my ears that well, and then, 2 years later, they decided to start acting weird before one earbud just straight failing in its ANC, rendering it useless for my daily commuting and gym. I then bought another pair of WF-1000XM3s before I wanted to upgrade, and eventually got the WF-1000XM4s. Not even a year later, these "new" XM4s not only are less comfortable (bulky out of my ears), but one earbud just decided to stop charging properly (i.e., left earbud goes from fully charged 100% to 5% in 10-15minutes). Absolutely ridiculous given the money I spent. I was planning to buy the new WF-1000XM5, but with the crappy quality, build, and my history with Sony, I finally decided to abandon the brand altogether and try something new. After numerous review videos, reading, comparing, I landed on these Technics AZ80. And just WOW, absolutely knocked it out of the park. Firstly, the size of the case and earbuds themselves are smaller than the Sony's premium earbuds, so that is already a plus keeping it in my pocket with my wallet. The brushed-metal finish is a very nice touch, less fingerprints. The earbuds fit much smaller and closer than the Sonys, and are comfortable in my ears. The ANC may not be as good as the premium top Sony earbuds, but these cancel noise VERY well for my daily commute. The sound and bass, along with the app, absolutely shocked me to how much I can configure the sound to get what I want (I lean towards a basshead). Finally, the battery is stellar and when I run low, a quick 10-15min charge in the case gives me a HUGE boost in battery time. I think I charged it once in my work week (3 days commuting). And on top of it all, the way it seamlessly connects to multiple devices via bluetooth (my phone, my work laptop, my PC), I didn't realize how much I was missing this feature in my life going from the WF-1000XM4 from Sony. This is a gamechanger! All in all, 9/10 earbuds and I am going to be keeping my eye on this Technics brand and will be MORE than happy to spend money and buy their future, newer, top-of-the line earbud models because this is EXACTLY what I wanted and EXACTLY what I hoped to find as a replacement for the headache that so-called "premium Sony" earbuds have caused me over the last 5 years.

I switched from Jabras which had awesome sound and noise cancellation but kept breaking. On about month 3 of the Technics and sound is impressive, though I’m not getting as much noise cancellation as the Jabras gave me. Still enjoying though. Wonder how they’ll fare on my flight tomorrow.
