Shallow Shot Golf Swing Trainer- Golfing Aid

My son’s golf coach uses this in his lessons, so we got one for him to use on his own. He loves how it helps his swing.

Helps keep those arms closed, Chest closed, definitely good for something on the range or even at home. I myself am recovering from a foot injury I put this on, and I just take practice swings at home.

Cumbersome. I have several Skilz trading aids and love them all. This one doesn’t work. I returned it.

I am a teaching professional who also occasionally struggles to shallow the club myself. I’ve only used it for one day, but I can see its value after day one. I think this will be a valuable training aid for me and my students!

Works really well….just need to implement it on the course now!

There are many aids on the market to improve one’s golf performance, indeed SKLZ produce a comprehensive selection of such tools, focusing on the various aspects of effectively hitting a golf ball. This swing connection trainer is designed specifically to improve a golfer’s swinging ability, with the aim of a more efficient and consistent connection. The product itself looks good and made of sturdy plastic. It performs a similar function to the smart ball golf aid type of products, albeit these normally hang from the neck rather than fixed to the arm as is the case for this SKLZ swing trainer. This product appears a much more tidier and compact swing trainer. The SKLZ Shallow Shot does indeed in practice instigate correct swing position and use of the correct body posture to swing rather than arms, and with use encourages maintenance of swing technique without use of the aid. A further key functional difference from similar use swing ball trainers is that this swing connection trainer has an adjustment for diameter ranging from drivers to irons. Therefore, is a versatile tool to practice a variety of shots – whilst encouraging correct posture and technique. Overall, a smartly designed, robust golf trainer aid, that is effective at improving and maintaining a consistent golf swing.

As someone who is prone to the (more than occasional) catastrophic slice, I decided to pick this up to help stomp it out. For awareness, I'm quite new to golf. Now to be clear, this isn't going to be a miracle worker by any means. However, I can say that this definitely helped me to straighten my iron shots out after a few trips with it to the driving range. The adjustment wheel on this allows you to easily adjust between irons and putter; increasing/decreasing the circumference to better promote arm positioning/alignment as you swing through. I did find I had to tweak this a bit while fitted to find a comfortable setting for my irons. I had a couple of disappointments of this: - There is no option for driver which is the club that I think most would struggle with. - The sticker indicating the irons/putter position was poorly placed and was partially unstuck/folded in on itself out of the box. It doesn't impact performance or usability at all but it's not something I'd expect at this price point but this is perhaps just a one off. Otherwise, I think this is a great training tool and would definitely recommend it to those looking to straighten out their shots. As always, a lesson with a professional will likely be more beneficial to a beginner than a training aid but this is certainly a great product to help lock in good practices.

What a nightmare. The strap was threaded incorrectly. It wouldn’t fasten to my arm correctly at all and what a fight to correct it as the narrow sections made changing it around very difficult. I needed pliers to pull the material through and the rubberised logo had to be taken off to allow it to fit through. Also the knurled adjustment knob was so tight it could not be turned to loosen and adjust, brute force was used to expand/contract the cylinder. It’s a shame as once sorted I can see the training benefit you could get from practice with it and it does look quite professional upon opening. Spend a little more time getting the presentation and working parts correct and it could be great.

This is an adjustable training aid, designed to keep your arms in place during your golf swing. Simply adjust the plastic “wheel” to the right size and strap it to your forearm, so that at address the aid sits between your two forearms. As you swing the need to keep the wheel in place encourages body rotation, rather than trying to use your arms to generate power, which can result in a slice (so I’m told!!). As a golfer whose fade turns into a slice at random, this really did help with the correct feel during the swing.
