Water tastes good.
So far it's working well. Time to distill is accurate. Fan is not super loud, but not quiet either. I put it in another room and crack the door as it heats up the room quite a bit. I'm not using the plastic collection container as my main goal is to reduce micro plastics. I use a glass carafe to collect the distilled water. The tip of this machine has a compartment to insert a small charcoal filter packet. I don't do this and the water still tastes fine. There was a slight metal taste during the first 3 runs, but it has gone away. I'm sure there was a little metal residue in the coil that needed to be washed out. The distiller seems well built and made to last. The water tastes like distilled water from the store, but without any plastic jug flavor. In my opinion, the glass carafe replacement for this device could be cheaper. I haven't cleaned it yet because it doesn't get very dirty. I leave a little water left over in the main tank so I can rinse it out easily. It has an auto off switch once the tank is empty. The price for this device was fair.

A little common sense would help…
I’ve had this water distiller for almost 10 days now and have already made about 25 gallons of water. Honestly, it’s all common sense, especially if you follow the instructions. After each use, I simply take a microfiber towel, lightly wet it (not too wet), and wipe the bottom to remove any leftover debris. It doesn’t get 100% spotless, and there is a slight burn mark on the bottom, but the instructions clearly say to clean that about once a month using the cleaning solution they provide. So no problem there—just follow the instructions. The water comes out very clean. I use it for both drinking water and my humidifier. A nice bonus is that during the winter, the unit releases some warm air from the top, which helps keep my family room a little warmer. Overall, it’s a good deal. I only had one issue, and it was completely my fault. One time I didn’t put the lid on 100% correctly, and the water leaked out the side—an entire gallon spilled onto my table. That was user error, not the company’s fault. Now I just make sure the lid is on tightly, and there are no problems. This is the first water distiller I’ve ever owned, and if I can use it without issues, anyone can. Thank you for dropping by.

Good unit but needs timer
Excellent unit. One thing however: I see several references to this unit quitting after less than two years. It needs to be run through a countdown timer to keep the element from burning out as it overheats when run dry. This is my second unit. The first one I purchased through another retailer about 8 years ago and still works. I use it nearly daily to produce water for CPAP, coffee maker and room humidifiers. I live at 2500 ft elev and 3.5 hrs seems good to keep the unit breaker from tripping. A good and inexpensive countdown time is this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MVDTEXS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

quick efficient lightweight distiller, poor glass pitcher
This distiller seems to work well but it does have a few drawbacks. I purchased a MH distiller in 2011 and used daily so this will include comparison- the MH too has had issues due to wear n tear over the years and it was time for replacement, but noticing a big price increase these many years later I decided to try a different brand. Note that distillers do have upkeep and daily cleaning requirements, I know them well after a diligent 15 years but I still choose a distiller over throw away trash filters, plastic jugs, and heavy 5 gallon jug refills at the store. FL has very sedimenty water, and my husband says his tea and coffee taste better using distilled water over tap, naturally. The good: The fan motor is quieter, loved this! Starts dispensing water in 30 min compared to almost 60 of the MH. The cycle completes nearly 2 hours quicker as well. Note the fill line and pitcher hold slightly less water on Vevor but only about 8oz. It has a double level gasket on top compared to a single, which may contribute to it working faster. Plastic outside base compared to enamel, it's easier to clean and care for, similar to our tea kettle. Base is lighter weight, and top has a handle which is helpful. The spout is stainless and easier to use, compared to MH original plastic one that I literally fought with to remove to change carbon filter. The same: Gives off heat while brewing, noticeable in a small space so we brew in daytime in cooler months and over night in warmer. Stainless inside easy to clean with provided citric acid, or regular vinegar as I have done in past. I let sit a short time or over night, and I do not turn base on to heat unless there is something that is really stuck, but I have always used a plug-in timer to shut off before sediment burns on bottom- note that this unit will not automatically turn on with timer- you must push the button every time to start. The bad: As mentioned above the pitcher is slightly smaller, and the ability to set timer to start to come on automatically overnight- not deal breakers but inconvenient. The black color of top shows every water drop/spot and piece of dust. Some will be able to ignore this, but I find seeing and wiping off white streaks and spots daily a chore. I wanted a white unit but not available with a glass pitcher. The ugly: The glass pitcher spout is misshaped and it spills every time. To continue to sell without rectifying after years of complaints does not show good company standard. I considered returning this for a white one with plastic pitcher but opted to try a different company that seemed a little more proactive in customer service.

Works well, yields about two ounces less than a gallon.
Hello I set this up to run after I go to bed. I get about two ounces less than a gallon per run. My water has 300-600 PPM of calcium and some biologocals in the water. This material is left behind after a run. I have used this now about every other day for two months, I have found it to work well. Regards

Cheap for a Reason – Fails Early, Warranty Support Goes Nowhere
I’ve owned three of these. The first lasted about a year—just outside the 12-month warranty. The second made it only six months before it started shutting off randomly mid-cycle, often before the water even boiled. It now requires constant manual restarts to get through a single gallon. I bought a third, but confidence is low. When I contacted Vevor for warranty support, they asked for video of the problem—then told me to upload it through a system that doesn’t even accept video files. Their own documentation lists only static image formats. The upload link they provide sends you to WeTransfer, which then tells you to email someone. Meanwhile, they suggest contacting Amazon for returns, even though Amazon won’t handle a warranty claim after the return window closes. In short, the product is cheap because it’s not built to last, and the warranty exists mostly on paper. You’re buying a short-lived appliance with the expectation of no meaningful support. If that tradeoff works for you, fine. But know what you’re getting into. Update: After 12 days of trying to get support for my second failed unit, I can confirm the warranty process is a bad-faith stall. I sent photos and uploaded the requested video using their own WeTransfer instructions, then posted the link in the message thread. Instead of reviewing it or addressing the issue, they repeated the same generic instructions and dragged the process out without resolution. Eventually, Amazon had to step in and issue a refund because Vevor refused to honor their own warranty. The product is cheap for a reason—and if it fails, you’re unlikely to get meaningful support.

Easier to use than you might think.
I won't deny I was a little intimidated when I saw the size of this thing and opened it up out of the box with really no idea how to use it but it really took me only about 5 minutes before I had it running and I used it three times in a row in the same day just with a 15 or 20 minute break in between to let the coils cool down the fans have a break. At first I thought I had made a mistake by buying something that was going to occupy so much in my countertop space but then I realized I could use it multiple times in a row and then put it away and store the distilled water for another day and I'm happy with my purchase day one three cycles of 3L which each rendered 3Q which is very little loss, I'm a happy plant dad, and I know my plants will be tickled green to not have to soak up all the chemicals that come from the Dallas water supply and they'll be living longer and healthier than ever. 2 years ago I lost 40 air plants by using city water I won't make that mistake again. 5 out of 5 would recommend. And it's not that big, takes up about as much room as a juicer.

Not built for the long term, kinda finicky.
I gave 3 out of 5 because when working it is great. Just surprised the moving parts are holding up but the non-moving parts keep failing. Our first unit had the pealing right out of the box. It’s an issue for me because the paint is pealing around the top edge - don’t need extra contaminated going in my water. Vevor eventually sent a replacement outer body - I had to disassemble the appliance to repair. Occasionally unit will stop and trip the circuit breaker. I usually attribute this to wife over filling or forgetting to plug the top in. Electrical plug melted about a year in and I had to get parts from Home Depot and repair it. New cord, new plug, cut and repair wiring inside unit. Now we get a constant E1 error. Quick google search says make sure water level is ok, no build up in tub, but otherwise it is an overheat error. For reference it does feel hotter on the outside than normal. Wife loves her clean water so I’m left with either buying another and hope it lasts or fixing this one AGAIN.

Great for the price at the time
Plug and use, decent price at the time. Pay attention to assembling the glass jug handle (I had to re-do it after my wife's effort...)
