Appears to be better than some older reviews suggest
Full Disclosure... I am RETURNING the item because I was "minutes too late" in cancelling my order. That being said... As the product was NOT wrapped in plastic film, I took the opportunity to open the product storage box and inspect the quality. A couple of items had "dislodged" from their storage cavity, but were undamaged... little protective material was in the Amazon box to keep the product from "banging around" in the cardboard box against other items ,so I wasn't very surprised. The "tap style" thread chasers certainly aren't Greenlee or Cleveland Twist Drill quality in terms of machining finish, but then again, I didn't expect them to be...at this price point. FAR Better however than a lot of similar stuff I buy occasionally at the local HF store! I looked at the "taps" under magnification and they looked fine...a few burrs here and there (which look like they will likely "self-shed" after a use or two), and only very minor "ding" imperfections on the threads themselves... for my money, very serviceable for their intended purpose. The dies appear to have a somewhat better machining finish, and like the "taps", are legibly STAMPED with their thread sizing. The included thread files appear to both be SAE... no markings indicating metric thread pitches on either one. Absolutely NO issues with the plastic storage/carrying container... the earlier review complaints regarding poor box quality appear to have been heard AND addressed by the manufacturer. The only "however" to consider is that I couldn't actually put them to use (since they were to be returned)... but PROVIDED the steel and heat treatment used in their fabrication is sufficient for the intended task, I see no real problem with this thread repair set. KEEP IN MIND that this type of item is intended for "cleaning" and rehabilitating minor to somewhat moderate defects of EXISTING threads, NOT forming new threads from scratch. And... I've personally found that trying to "reform" flattened threads on a hard material threaded hole or screw, such as a quality allen cap screw or other "hard type" can sometimes be taxing to even a quality "traditional" thread tap or die...especially 1/4" and smaller. This being said, I feel that the SLIGHT surface finish matter concerning the thread chaser taps is really of little consequence as to their utility for the intended use of these items. I've often used this type product in the past (in the workplace) for "chasing" threads on engine components, to get rid of debris/old sealant/rust in threaded holes and bolt threads, to help assure best performance of new threadlocker or sealant... and to minimize impact on torque values during reassembly... especially with inch-pound rated torque situations. If I had not been given a similar type set (but U.S. made) by an older friend, I would have opted to keep this set.

Set had 2 7/16 coarse dies and zero 3/8 coarse dies AND THEY SENT A REPLACEMENT!
They sent me a replacement for the missing die. Nice service. Other than missing one of the most used (read important) items, 3/8” coarse die, in a set like this the kit seems fine. Case looks improved from previous reviews.

great kit
I like the way the different thread pitches are color coded. Item came very quickly and I'm very happy with this set.

Needs better Quality Control
I ordered this set to clean and repair threads on my 2000 Ford Ranger. Since I live in the rust belt a "good" set of thread chasers is practically mandatory. Unfortunately this set, upon initial inspection is lacking basic quality control. The case is okay overall with the exception of the fitted slot for the one M11x1.5 chaser die. It seems to be an M10 slot so the M11 die doesn't fit which resulted in the case being partially opened as well as the slot being damaged when the lid was forced closed around the loose die causing damage to the slot. Since the case wasn't closed properly the bottom row of dies was loose in the case, but none were missing. The stamped numbering is all over the place on the dies, but seems okay on the taps although the sizes on some are shallow and hard to read. But the die sizes are mostly off center and only partially stamped on some. The Good: For just under $50 it's a good comprehensive set of thread chasers including most of the common sizes. Fit and Finish- I can't speak to the accuracy or quality of the threads yet since I just opened the set. But the finish seems pretty good especially at this price point. The Bad: The Case- I'm not sure if my case was a one off or the wrong size M11x1.5 slot is a common issue. It's only the one slot, the rest are okay. The Size Stamping- Extremely inconsistent on the dies with many off centered, illegible, or only half stamped. Final Thoughts: Overall, the general quality isn't terrible. But the one die sticking up not allowing full closure of the case should have been noticed and the set pulled from the assembly line rather than being sent to a customer, in my opinion The stamping on the dies needs improvement. It's pretty bad. That's all I have so far. Once I start using the set I'll update this review and rating accordingly.

Loose fitting
Not sure the accuracy but the didn’t do a good job of thread chasing as threads stayed dirty… so weren’t really making contact. Tolerances too loose

does not include popular m14x1.50 die
disappointed for exclusion of m14x150 die

Disappointing
It came in a big box that you could fit at least 8 tool sets. When I open it everything was out of its place. It's hard to know what is what size. Really disappointing.

Only use the metric set but still worth it.
Great so far
