I have been using this HDD without any bad sectors, and it works perfectly. I've had 2 lots of 4 of these drives running in my 4 bay NAS units in a RAID5 configuration (I know, I know, not recommended).. but the uptime of these drives has been outstanding considering I'm pushing them way beyond the recommneded boundaries of use. Until 2 days ago, they've been operational for 8 years with solid use with zero downtime. One failed 2 days ago, so 8 years for cheap drives is pretty good.

Got it to put into a NAS that is on 24/7 to store my media files, the drive arrived with no power on times and no power on hours, so it is a genuine new drive. Packaging might have been lacking but what can you do, it arrived in mint condition. The outer carton box was not dent, and inside using bubble wrap the drive was placed in with an anti-static cover on it, sadly the anti-static cover is NOT a reusable bag which is a shame but at least it was protected. Speeds are also great, having no issues with transfers of 100-s of GBs in size. Easily fit in with a regular SATA power + data cable and works as expected on LZ4. So far had no issues with playback of 4k HDR+ content.

This HHD works just as expected. It’s easy to install if you know what you’re doing and know your way around the inside of your PC. It’s very good quality which is why I love Seagate. It is quite heavy but that didn't cause any problems for me. It’s worth the price, with stuff like this it’s better to not go for the cheap stuff and go with a trusted brand. Overall 10/10 and i recommend.

Great product

I've had this for 1 year, just to store music, pictures and tv shows on, install a couple of steam games etc. The harddrive is starting to fail. renaming folders on this drive can crash explorer. watching a 20 minute episode on vlc media player sometimes randomly freezes for up to a minute. makes a grinding sound when being accessed. I bought the 6TB HDD 3.5inch one. march 2025, for £115. It's lasted... 13 months, and now I already need a replacement and at risk of losing all my very important data. wedding photos and everything. Now the cost is £170 for the same product. Now, I understand the price increase because of ai enshittification of the market. But I don't understand why the product has failed so soon. I didn't expect to have to worry about replacing it for over 5 years.

O HD Barracuda é bom. Tenho 2 de 4Tb e comprei 2 de 8Tb. Tem um camarada que foi leviano ao informar que levou um "Golpe", pelo HD ser "SMR", que isso não é informado. Na Descrição do produto tem essa informação: "...Tecnologia de gravação: SMR...". E qual o problema nisso? Um pouco mais lento, mas nada significativo. O HD é bom, principalmente levando em consideração custo/benefício. Utilizo para armazenar mídias. Os Barracudas de 4Tb, tenho há cerca de 2 anos e nunca tive qualquer tipo de problema. Recomendo. Lembrando que, após formatado, como todo HD, SSD, não libera o total de Gb, por conta da tabela de partição e indexação. No caso do de 8Tb, fica utilizável somente 7.27Gb. Obs. Chegou antes do prazo.

O produto foi entregue dentro do prazo informado e se encontra em pleno funcionamento. Recomendado a quem interessar.

Da Windows nächstes Jahr den Support für Win 10 einstellt habe ich mir diese Festplatte für Linux eingerichtet. Bisher läuft diese tadellos. Das Betriebssystem startet darauf schnell und auch sonst gibt es keine Probleme. Da dies schon meine 2. Barracuda ist kann ich nichts negatives über diese Marke sagen. Von mir daher 5 Sterne

La verdad dude bastante del producto por la marca , siempre he sido fiel de WD , pero lo he estado usando para uno de mis NAS y es una maravilla , rápido , silencioso y con un rendimiento escepcional , me encantó.
