Cheese is expensive and needs to be chilled to shred properly. However great gift for spouse. I'll try a block of swiss Cheese. Much cheaper than. tete. De. Moine. ,

I saw this cheese curler being used at a winery in Portugal, and had to have one for myself. I was trying to decide between this cheese curler and the Boska, which is higher priced, so I ordered both to compare. This one is better for the following reasons: 1) the wood has a smoother finish, and looks and feels better, 2) the base has non-slip feet, so it grips the counter firmly and doesn’t slide around, 3) the handle is wood, not plastic. Everything else appears identical. I used P’tit Basque cheese, and it worked perfectly the first time. I thought I might have to eat some mistakes myself before I got the right touch to get a good floret, but it was easy. Don’t try it with a soft cheese, and then complain—it’s not meant for that. This makes a fun addition to a charcuterie board, but the downside is, it is a one-function tool that is going to require some storage space in the kitchen.

Works great, the only thing is when I want to put the cover lid on, I have to remove the cutting piece . The blade is sharp and cuts the cheese nicely , never used it on cutting chocolate , I am yet to try.
