In the past I have slept with memory foam pillows. I like how your head melts into it giving soft support. However, I've never liked how they get hot at night, so I've been on the hunt for something better. I thought I'd try this pillow and.... WOW!!!!!! It has this soft, squishy feel that gives where you want it, and supports where you need it, and it feels cool all night. What is this magic??? The grid adds a really different element, in a good way. It adds a soft flexibility that cradles the small contours of your face, head and neck, and I think it's a key reason it stays so cool because the air can keep flowing through all the little channels. My other pillows haven't had it, and it creates this almost air flow layer I've never felt before. The foam beneath the grid is really soft and squishy, and together it creates this soothing comfort that lulls me to sleep and keeps me comfortable all night, even when I shift around to different sleep positions. My daughter loves it too, she calls it the "marshmallow pillow." I like that you can adjust the height too. I like it without any of the additional foam layers as generally I prefer a low pillow to sleep with, but for watching TV I like to add one of the layers for more height. The cover is really innovative, it's like an envelope closure which makes inserting or taking out the height adjusting layers super easy and convenient. LOVE this pillow!!!!

First off, I have never laid my head on any non-living thing this soft and squishy yet supportive and ergonomic. The pillow is perfect, my partner was so in love that she had to get one too even though she had just bought another pillow from ikea. You will not rest your head on a better pillow than this. For a 5-10 year investment, this pillow is well worth it at a discounted price of $200 or less! Solid value for money , 1.5:1. FYI: the pillow is extremely heavy, like it can actually hurt someone in a pillow fight. But it’s so heavy that it will take tremendous strength to even swing it, let alone accurately. And honestly this is a huge plus because it doesn’t move with you when you move. For side sleepers: don’t look for any other pillow, this is the best pillow you can put your head on For back sleepers: I sleep on it on my back too and it’s really comfortable, so not just for side sleepers. For stomach sleepers: change to the two above positions because you’ll have a lot of neck and back pain down the line, but it will work for you too! For couples: yes, it perfectly comfortable for spooning, or sleeping facing each other on side, or one lays on back and the other sleeps on side.

I suffer from severe arthritis in my neck. I tried four different pillows before I found this one. I took the risk and tried it. As you can see, it is very expensive. However, this pillow is the most comfortable for me so far. The extra "shim" cushion that adjusts the pillow height does not seem to matter much, but that is OK since it is comfortable to me with or without it. I would have given it five stars, but the smell that it emits right out of the package is pungent and off-putting. I was expecting this because it is made from memory foam, and memory foam stinks when fresh, but it has been ten days, and I can still smell the odor, even though it has reduced quite a bit. My advice is to put it in another room after unpacking and let it sit for two weeks. Other than that, it is a fantastic pillow!

Smell: Yes the pillow smells out of the box, but what I found to work well in removing the smell is: hand washing the GelFlex cover by hand with warm water and dish soap, putting the pillowcase cover in the washing machine, then stuffing the MicroAir core in between two hangers and hung on a curtain rod with a high powered fan under it for 4 days straight – seemed to remove the smell entirely. The polyurethane lifts didn’t smell like much out of the box, but that memory foam core stinkssss. To note there is a white powder coating the GelFlex grid, not sure what it is or does, but it seems water soluble and was washed out when I washed it by hand. For the price I feel they could at least pre-wash/off gas this pillow. Pillow Review: The pillow is quite firm when compared to my Harmony pillow, especially along the edges where the memory foam core lacks the ventilation columns, that being, stomach sleeping is not very comfortable given the pillow doesn’t compress enough to your neck due to its firmness – for stomach sleepers I highly recommend the Harmony, though I could see heavier set people stomach sleeping comfortably. This pillow is definitely for side sleepers, I actually started sleeping on my side with this pillow because it’s the perfect loft, firmness, and conforming squish. The durability is the reason I love Purple, never having to adjust the Harmony/Dreamlayer is the main reason I use them. The pillow does run cool, but because the base is so dense it does hold heat more than the harmony. The pillow is a more medium-firm in the middle where the ventilation columns are, but the edges are definitely firm. Overall, unless you are mainly/only a side sleeper or have a preference for firm pillows I recommend the Harmony. Measurements: Filler pillows (x2) (plush only, not including seams): 21 x 15 x 3/4, Dreamlayer Pillow: 22 x 15.5 x 4.5.

I don't know who is in churches of quality control but it's clear thus wasn't authentic or new! There are hairs, marks and piling that has already started and I just opened the flipping box! 1st what is this chemical smelling white powder?! Fentanyl?Cocaine? It certainly is not baby powder, IT STINKS! I'm scared to sleep on this chemical.This pillow does not look like the one I saw at the Purple store AT ALL, & it is HEAVY, INCONSISTENTLY BUILT, way too tall & floppy.Hard to sleep on because it just sinks & stinks. I could smell it before I even opened the zipper which was easy to use.The foam is ripped all throughout.The adjustability is ridiculous for the money! These thin pancakes of a totally different material do no good. Just because the zipper is good quality does not mean this is a purple pillow. No support when you lay on it. This has to be a joke. There needs to be better quality control. I have a sample pillow from the store & this pillow does not match and I see on the tag that it was made in a different country & they just put a purple tag on it. Sad we have to go thru this for something that costs this much.

The absolute best, comfiest, coolest staying pillow that will give you thr best nights sleep, If it didn't smell like cat urine. Horrid smell, hard to sleep, couldn't use it. I do plan on keeping it and praying the smell will go away, but this needs to be dealt with before they sell them.

I am a big fan of Purple products, this pillow is a nice inbetween. Sometimes the original pillow is too firm for me and sometimes the harmony is too soft. This is where this one shines, I’ve been using it for the last month my neck pain is gone and my tmj pain has been relieved. This is a kind of memory foam but you can definitely tell it’s of very high quality, it’s a very nice pillow. As for the people who say it smells, it’s the equivalent of a new car smell, I actually don’t mind it all, it smells like a quality product and the smell fades in a few days if that. If you’re like me and a terrible sleeper I say it’s great pillow to have in your arsenal.

Finding the right pillow has been difficult for me. I have either purchased or tried probably 20 different pillows over the years. I also have not been a fan of memory foam pillows due to heat retention. Having said that, I decided to try the Purple Dreamlayer standard size pillow, mainly because my son is a fan of his Purple mattress & products. Spending close to $200 for a pillow is no joke, but if you’ve never really been able to find a pillow that works for you, you’ll try anything. I’ve been using this pillow for about 10 days, and so far I love it. It comes with two additional supports that will allow you to adjust the height to your liking. For me, I use it without the adjusters. This pillow has the purple gel pattern on one side only, which is the side for your head to lay on. The pillow does not get hot for me, and it comfortably conforms to my head & neck without feeling restrictive. This pillow is somewhat heavier than a traditional pillow, but it is significantly lighter than the original purple pillow. There initially was a slight smell from the foam, but after about 10 days of use that has largely faded away and wasn’t much of an issue to begin with. I do think this pillow is way more expensive than it should be, but I also have to say it’s probably the best pillow I’ve had. If it gives you a good nights sleep, it’s worth it. Five stars is based solely on performance, not price. I recommend it, even though it does break the bank as pillows go.
