Natural Gas Detector with Gas Concentration Display Locating The Source of Propane, Natural Gas, and Combustible Gas Leak for Home and RV (Include Battery x3)

I used this to test for propane leaks on fittings for a new propane line I installed myself. I found one leak using this that I did not detect by smell on a fitting that I failed to tighten properly. I also used this to determine when I had all of the air purged out of the new line prior to connecting the line to my gas furnace. During the gas line installation I kept this detector on the floor of my basement by the work area to insure that I did not have a build-up of combustible propane gas since propane is heavier than air and would tend to settle to the floor where it would be less likely to be detected by the gas smell. This detector worked flawlessly for all three of the tests I used it for.

Does the job i purchased it for. I do wish I could brighten the screen, hard to see outside. I use this quite often at my job.

I use this every year before I turn on my gas fireplace to make sure there’s no leaks. Before using I check it with a propane torch, not lit make sure it detect the gas, but it works well.

Awkward to use, poorly designed and ineffective! All I can say is FORGET THIS DETECTOR, it’s a pure waste of your funds!!

So this takes about 5min in a clean air space to be calibrated to 0. After that you are good with spot on detection. Installed a new stove and noticed a slight gas smell but connections were seated and sealed correctly, turned out to be a on off valve stem screw that had failed over time from shutting off to install the stove. Would have never known at where the leak was coming from, base, top, screw without sniffer, and turns out after testing other old valves and connections on dryer etc we had others that were also leaking do to improper seating or installation. So great to have on hand when doing repairs.

Great product, easy to use

I was disappointed that when I opened the item, it was clearly returned - I’m not yet sure if it works properly or not and will unfortunately need to return if it does not. :(
