I bought this visual timer to help my toddler better understand how much time is left during certain activities, and overall it works well for that purpose. The visual countdown makes it much easier for young kids to see time passing compared to a regular timer. WHAT I LIKED - The visual countdown is very helpful for toddlers learning about time - Cute rainbow design that looks nice in a kids room or play area - Simple to use with a quick turn of the knob - Works as described WHAT COULD BE BETTER - The knob feels a little loose, which makes it harder to set an exact time - The alarm at the end startled my toddler, although he is generally sensitive to alarms REAL USE We use this timer to help with transitions like cleaning up toys or getting ready for the next activity. Being able to see the colored section getting smaller helps my toddler understand how much time is left. OVERALL This is a helpful tool for teaching young kids about time and making transitions easier. Aside from the slightly loose knob, it works well and the rainbow design is a cute bonus.
