Great toothbrush if you know how to use it, it can be repaired!
This is the third one I have owned. I read the reviews and it seems hit or miss. After 10 plus years of using the black diamond here is what I can tell you. If you press too hard (apply to much pressure) while brushing it causes slop in the sonic arm that the brush head engages. This arm has a gap set inside the handle and is held in place by a small screw. You do not need to push at all on the brush. If you do and the arm is wobbly and you don't feel the sonic motion, it can be fixed pretty quick. There are vids on YT that show you how to reset the gap and tighten the screw step by step, note use some locktite when reapplying the screw. There are also vids that show you how to replace the battery and actual upgrade it!! On the first 2 I bought, I applied too much pressure and was frustrated with the toothbrush. So I took it apart before trashing them and stumbled onto how to repair the $300 toothbrush. Phillips was of no help either. So you may ask why did I continue to purchase and repair the black diamond? Fair enough! Its because for 10 plus years I have had consecutively perfect dental appointments! Everyone of them! Very minimal cleaning, in and out in about 30-40 mins each visit and told keep doing what you’re doing. So its pricy, you need to know how to use it properly, Phillips customer service is ehhh, can be repaired and most importantly it WORKS! All three are still charging and working flawlessly! I have one for home, one for travel and a back up. Had I known you could repair them I would not have bought the second one. This one was on sale and ridiculously priced so I bought it.

Spend once, cry once - get quality and this is it
I tried several cheaper sonic toothbrushes and hated them...they rattled my head even on low. Many had tiny / too small toothbrush heads. Then I sprang for this baby - well worth it! I haven't even gotten to the app or the deep cleaning, etc. But just the basic toothbrush is amazing! I keep it on low for now...which is fine for me and I can really feel the cleanliness when I'm done! I wanted this one also because it has a warning if you are pushing too hard. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the tongue cleaner head / program. All in all, it works really well. And - if you get extra brush heads, no reason you can't share this with someone else in your home.

Best toothbrush available
Great product at a great prime day price. Make sure you register it because these have a tendency to break at the base of the tooth brush applicator. My last two did exactly that, after a couple years. That said- my gums and teeth are so much better and cleaner because of these. I will continue to buy them.

Don't Waste Your Money! It'll break in 10-14 Months.
I've tried two different brushes of this model and had the same issue with both of them. Each time the brush broke after about a year's worth of use. The handle vibrates but the brush stem (the metal that holds the brush head) does not because it's detached from the drive shaft. There are several flaws with the design that could cause this to happen: 1. The metal drive shaft inside the handle is poorly constructed. It loosens over time and eventually detaches from stem holding the bristles. 2. The Internal adhesive or press-fit joints weaken over time and cause the brush stem to detach. 3. Moisture gets into the brush (likely through the top or near the buttons and eventually weakens the joint with the drive shaft. 4. The parts just wear out. Any one of these makes the brush unusable (unless you don't mind paying $200 for a manually operated toothbrush). Sure, you can send it back for a warranty repair (two-year warranty), but who wants to request warranty repairs (and be without your toothbrush while that's happening) multiple times in two years. No one expects a brush to last forever, but 10-14 months is unacceptable for such a pricy product! You're better off buying an Oral B iO series brush.

Slightly expensive, but a beast all around!
Absolutely love this toothbrush! Our dentist recommended we use Phillips Sonicare brushes and at first I was a bit skeptical. I order this about 1 year ago and waited to see how much I liked it before writing a review. After using it for a year, I'm not sure why I never checked one of these out before. Ergonomically, the base of the unit fits well in my hand and is easy to maneuver. The buttons are placed in great positions so I can change the brushing modes or intensity levels easily on the fly. I keep it on a shelf mounted in the battery charger at home, but I have travelled with it a few times and the battery holds a good charge for more than a few days easily. I've never had a situation where I've taken it with me and had it run out of battery. It cleans very nicely and isn't too bulky to have any issue reaching the back molars and has great maneuverability while brushing. I like the fact that it's not very loud as far as noise, and it has convenient 30 second notifications to let you know how long you've been brushing. I typically do one quadrant for 30 seconds for a total of 2 minutes, so it's nice to have the 30 second 'buzz' go off and let me know it's time to move. Two of the coolest features about this electronic toothbrush: (1) - the pressure sensor that let's you know if you're brushing too hard. It's easy to see the light come on when I tend to put too much pressure on the head. (2) I use it in the shower so it's nice that it's mainly waterproof (even if it's not sold as that in the description) but I have been using it in the shower for a while and it's not had any issues. The travel case is nice to have when you need to pack it up and head out on the road. I stay away from home about 4-5 times a year for work and it packs up really nicely and the case obviously keeps it protected. If I had one complaint it would be the unit cost and the replacement head cost. When I first looked them up, I thought the price was crazy!! But it's held up and continues to be my favorite toothbrush of my life, and I've had many in my 50 years on this planet. If you're thinking about getting an electronic toothbrush, this one definitely delivers.

Great cleaning power, and awesome customer service from Philips!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I ordered this toothbrush over a year ago. WELL worth it. Great cleaning power, and my dentist always compliments my teeth when I go for cleanings. I have orthodontia as well, and I’ve had no problems using it with braces. Two days ago, the metal post on the handle where the toothbrush heads attach somehow dislodged on the inside. I reached out to customer service that evening, and they immediately sent out a replacement at no charge. They included a return label so I could send my broken one back and they could check out the problem. I JUST got the replacement today, super fast service! I’m always impressed when big companies have great customer service, and Philips didn’t disappoint. Vibration level: Love having multiple levels of vibration. I started out slower because it initially tickled my gums, but was quickly able to go up. Ease of use: Push a button to turn on, and there’s one other button to change the cleaning mode and speed. Quality: I’ve used Sonicare for years, but this is my first time with this model. My previous Sonicare lasted 8ish years, so I know they’re made to last. Battery life: The battery life on this toothbrush is impressive. I went out of town for 2 1/2 weeks and didn’t even need to recharge! I love that this model comes with a travel charging case, but I didn’t even need to use it. Appearance: Super slim compared to my old model. It’s also surprisingly light weight, considering how much power it has. The charging base is also really cool too. I initially started with just the stand, but switched to the glass cup and I can keep the extra toothbrush head that my husband uses in it (without affecting the charging). Noise level: VERY quiet compared to my old model, and more power. They’ve stepped up their game!

Wonderful toothbrush
This is a great brush. The first one I had lasted from 2020 until 2025. Then it just died. The second one bought on a prime day never worked properly and had to be returned. I hope they work out the kinks; this is a fantastic toothbrush.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED: Defective Philips Sonicare Toothbrush
I purchased the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9500 on September 11 for $273.61 SGD ($203.48 USD), and it has completely failed after just two months of use. The toothbrush head holder is loose and doesn’t hold the brush properly, while the body makes a loud, awful rattling noise. This is unacceptable for such an expensive product.

Excelente cepillo
