Outdoor Rain Gauge with Mounting Bracket

Highly recommended this rain gauge. It took approximately 10 minutes to unbox, inspect and install on a fence post in our yard. The product provides accurate and easy to read totals in the center tube. Rain totaling more than one inch is quickly meaured by emptying center tube (one inch for full tube) and then pouring from large base cylinder into center tube for each subsequent one inch increment. We have had two rain storms since installing the gauge. First rain totaled 0.19 inch. Second rain totaled 1.31 inches. Totals were reasonably close to what was able to be found online with various weather sites that report on rain totals for our location. Photos attached include: 1) installed Rain Gauge. 2) first rain received totaled 0.19 inches. 3) second rain total was 1.31 inches. The center tube filled to the one inch total. Additoinal rain that exceeded one inch, was in the bottom of the cylinder. 4) center tube was emptied and then used to measure additonal 0.31 inches of rain poured from main cylinder back into center tube. Rain totals with the new gauge are accurate, the gauge seems to be of high quality and was easy to install.

I got this gauge for a friend after another friend got one for me. Here in Colorado rain is super precious and we treasure every drop. I have a small notebook where I keep daily records to compare year on year. My friend who I gave this gauge to has a vegetable farm so rainfall is paramount. This sort of gauge is THE ONLY ONE TO GET. All the others are lesser. It is easy to use and accurate. It will handly small amounts - I got 0.05" this morning - but it will also handle a hundred year storm and measure floodworthy quantities too. The plastic is strong and resilient and will stand the occasional drop. It is important to find a good mounting point away from tall obstructions like trees but somewhere you can easily see and monitor. I have mine on the remains of a basketball hoop post at eye height.

The one I had broke because of a hard freeze and this was the replacement. I was surprised with the quality of this rain gage. I would like to thank the seller for offering a quality product. For the nay sayers it does require a little effort to read this type of rain gage. Read before you buy! This is the most accurate manual type of rain gage.

Nicely made and accurate. A Luddite device, it is completely non-automated and requires your attention and participation in the process.

This has been my go-to rain gauge for the past 12 years. On my second (only because I forgot to remove it from the previous house).

This product was exactly the same product that I bought several years ago from another company. Previously, the product was twice the price that I paid this time. A great discovery.

Got this one to replace a worn out one that was about 18 years old and could barely read the amount. Works great, but hasn't been used much due to drought.

I've bought these 20 years ago and they've added black numbers to make them easier to read. Excellent accurate rain gauge, measures to 10th of a millimeter and up to 275 mm, when the outter barrel is filled.

It's accuracy, ease of installation and quality have exceeded all expectations.

I would have preferred it to measure in metric but it was easy to install, works well, is easy to read and is very accurate.

I bought it to calibrate my weather station rain gauge. Its accuracy looks promising, and the plastic looks sturdy enough to last a few years.
