Works GREAT - was getting stuck on Polaris hose but i fixed that!
update- it's been nearly a year, I'm very happy with the robot. It's still performing great! I will check back / update in a week or so and most likely update this to a five star review from four stars, assuming that my adjustments to the Polaris hose have fixed the beta robot frequently getting stuck on the hose. (I’ve had it running seven days now). First off I was very surprised and happy with how well this unit cleans any debris from the surface of my pool, it actually cleans much better than I was doing myself going around with a net about once a day or every other day. A big part of that is because there is a very fine mesh in the basket of this beta, so it grabs much smaller items and, tiny little things that would pass through my net. And of course it does a better job cause it’s constantly running. I very much recommend getting the unit that allows you to plug it into the wall to charge occasionally, although I only have had to charge it once, and that’s when it first came in and I just did that as you’re always supposed to fully charge any lithium ion Battery/devices before first use. It has been a week now and the unit has constantly showed “good battery level” so the solar seems to be working great. (The only indication of battery level is the two blinking green lights on the front of the unit). I have cameras around my pool so it does look like the unit runs 24/7 , although I’m assuming at times it pauses/stops. I just haven’t happened to see that , as anytime I see it , It’s running. The only reason I’ve taken off one star is because the unit would very frequently get stuck on my Polaris hose to the point where you would have to dip down the hose or push the beta back for it to get unstuck, I even tried leaving it stuck for 12 to 24 hours and it would not get unstuck, however, I think I’ve now fixed that. The other reason for taking off a star, I’m assuming this unit has an accelerometer built into it, or even if it doesn’t - it really should have much better detection of getting stuck on something like the Polaris hose so that it would back out or never collide with it in the first place, however this is not the case as it will frequently get stuck on the hose. But the good news is, I was able to resolve this (at least as of the past three days), simply by moving around the floaters on the Polaris hose, in my case I was able to just slide them around so that as you can see in the photo, floaters are as close together as possible, right by the hose junctions which keeps a majority of the hose down below the water level, and the parts where the two floaters are very close together are high enough up that the beta now does not get stuck up on them . You can see in the photos I’ve attached to this review, these photos are after I’ve adjusted the hose floaters and in these photos, the betta absolutely would have gotten stuck on the hose before my hose adjustments, however, as you can see it is not getting stuck now. Also, this may be very important, I changed the timers around so that my Polaris vacuum / hose only runs at night assuming the betta might be sleeping at that point, I’ve also changed the Polaris/ hose to only run a few hours a day as there’s much less trash on the bottom anyway, as opposed to before I had it running about eight hours a day. If the Polaris is running during the day and the betta is also running at the same time, there’s a much higher chance the hose will ensnare the betta. However, I will update in a few days if this has not resolved the issue, and the betta is still constantly getting stuck, however, that does not seem to be the case. It seems like all is good now vacuum hose pool, vacuum hose weights that you can buy on Amazon, however, that does seem to be pretty useless, as they’re not heavy enough nor do they properly fit the hose but as you can see in my photo, I did stick four of the 8x weights wedged on the actual floaters - so they may be helping keep the hose below the water however, I’m more inclined to believe that *just* sliding the floaters closer together is all that is needed. It would be nice if there were a slightly more expensive beta version that allowed you to see how much battery charge is in the unit and possibly updated firmware as well as adjust the sensitivity or collision detection. (however that would have to be via an app most likely, and it would most likely have to be more expensive than the $350 I paid for my betta se). Bottom line, if my adjustments to the Polaris hose have stopped the beta from getting stuck on it then I’m super happy with this beta and will recommend it to others, however, if however, it should be noted that initially the unit would constantly get stuck on the hose as in every four hours or so. (Will update this review and my rating in the next week or so.) (Also it’s very cool / neat to see the little unit driving around the pool and getting close to the wall and then reversing and rotating ECT)

Fantastic - Saves you time - Pool is Cleaner than Ever
First ever time I’ve written a 5* review on Amazon but this product deserves it. I’ve only had this a week but it’s the favorite thing I’ve bought for my pool by a distance. I have a big L-shaped pool surrounded by Trees, almost impossible to keep the surface perfectly clean, and using the net was a long job. This device is just amazing, you drop it in, forget about, and it runs near silently 24/7. Every morning I’ve woken up to a spotless pool - as this is running through the night and does all the work for me. I’ve not had to charge it yet - the power it gains from the solar panel is enough to keep it running constantly. The only time it’s been out of the pool is for about 2 minutes when I emptied it out. If you are constantly having to skim the pool with a net do yourself a favor and get this and save yourself some time - you will love it.

Beta Skimmer Cleans Pools Better Than You Do
We've had our pool skimmer "Mr. Roberto" for two years now. It is, quite simply, one of the best tools we've ever purchased for the pool over the last 25 years. It works like a champ in all types of weather. We leave it in our 35K in-ground pool 24/7. And over the last 2 years, I've only had to manually skim the pool after huge storms that dumped a lot of debris into the pool. Otherwise, it's just set it and forget it. The solar panel and battery are exceptional. It doesn't need full sun to charge or operate. In fact, the only time we've ever plugged it in is at the very beginning of the swimming season, when we need immediate skimming assistance. Otherwise, the sun does all the charging. The collection basket is large enough to hold a day or two's worth of leaves and bugs. Emptying it is simple, though it helps to hose out the basket once a week so the basket mesh doesn't become stained. Seriously, the Betta is our most appreciated pool tool. And when Mr. Roberto goes to the great skimmer in the sky, we'll be hiring Mr. Roberto II.

Worth every penny — wish I bought it sooner!
I’ve been using the Betta SE Plus Solar-Powered Robotic Pool Skimmer and I have to say I’m really impressed. This little robot has made taking care of the pool so much easier. Before, I was constantly having to skim leaves, bugs, and other debris off the top of the water, but now the Betta handles most of that for me. The solar charging works great. I love that I can leave it in the pool and it just does its thing throughout the day without needing to plug it in. It quietly moves around collecting debris, and the basket is very easy to empty and clean. It does a great job getting stuff before it sinks to the bottom, which also helps keep the rest of my pool cleaner. The build feels sturdy, setup was simple, and it has already saved me a lot of time. One of the best pool purchases I’ve made. If you’re on the fence about getting one, I’d definitely recommend it. It makes pool maintenance a lot less of a chore.

Well worth the money
I have had the Betta skimmer for a month and it is the best investment I’ve made for the pool. It works tirelessly to keep the surface completely clean. Very little to none falls to the bottom which means less to pick up by the robot at the end of the week therefore less taxing and longer life to the more expensive machine. It is easy to clean, light weight, and the simple construction makes it easy to work with. Even on over cast days it still uses the solar power and I have not had to manually recharge. We only take it out when we’re in the pool or when there’s a heavy rain to protect the solar panel. Every year before getting into the pool we’ve had to skim bugs, grass clippings, or occasional leaves making it a drag to skim the whole pool for just a dip. The Betta skims better than any net and it is a joy to jump in at any time to crystal clear water. Hopefully it has a long lifespan. Only one small downfall but I think it would happen to any skimmer, if the water level is a bit low it gets stuck on the step.

Absolute Must for Un-Caged Pools
I held off purchasing this because of the cost for way too long. I saw a friend who had one and was kind of un-impressed at the simplicity of it. In my mind, there was no way to justify the expense. Then he showed a before and after video from an overnight wind storm in Las Vegas and I was sold. I've had it now for most of this season and if it quit working tomorrow, I'd order another with zero hesitation. Honestly, this could break every year and the cleaning efficiency would still be worth it. But it doesn't break. It doesn't even quit with solar charging. I look out the window in the middle of the night, and this guy is just churning around with it's little blinking lights, sucking up every little speck floating on the top. Leaves, sticks, and any other small floaties no longer have time to saturate and sink to the bottom. I've got a floor cleaning robot as well, and to say it's taken a backseat would be an understatement. If you took away all my pool accessories tomorrow and told me I could keep one, this is it. The time it's saved me, the immaculate pool every day, and literally never thinking about it because it's solar and just goes, makes this one of the few products I've been willing to write a review for. If you have a pool that isn't caged (Florida friends probably wouldn't see the benefit as much), you need this. It should honestly be required for un caged pools everywhere.

Great Skimmer 😀
The machine did what I wanted, it collected all of the leaves, bugs and even pollen from the surface of the swimming pool. It was nearly silent and worked right out of the box, night and day. It is very easy to clean out and in the Florida sunshine it stayed fully charged. Downside? Sure, it’s a bit pricey and the remote had a learning curve. Not a deal breaker. I would have given it 5 stars, but I only used it 7 days before storing it for the pool work and I need to get a better understanding of the remote. After using it for seven days, I removed it from the pool, cleaned it and put away in the garage as I was preparing for major work on the pool. The pool work was delayed for a few days so I got in for a swim. Without the skimmer in the pool for 24 hours, there were leaves, bugs and pollen. Rather than retuning the skimmer to the pool for one last swim, I grabbed my pole net. Ten minutes later I got in the pool. No leave but, pollen and a few small bugs were still present. Totally confirming why I love this power skimmer after only seven days. When the pool is refilled with water the Betta SE Plus will be returned to duty.

MUST HAVE for a Texas pool
If you want a pool cleaner that actually earns its keep, the Betta Plus is it. This thing is glorious!!! We don’t have trees, so our pool battles bugs, frogs, the occasional tiny critter, and whatever grass or sand the acreage decides to donate. The Betta Plus scoops it all up before it sinks, which saves my robot vacuum from playing underwater detective. It also navigates around our loungers, tanning ledge, table area, and fountains like it owns the place. And the frog rescue feature is no joke—more than once, I’ve found a little swimmer riding around in the basket instead of meeting a tragic skimmer fate. I just set them free and call it community service. It runs nonstop, keeps the surface spotless, and makes the whole pool look better with almost no effort from me. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—get the Betta Plus. It will save you time, keep your pool cleaner, and even give the frogs a safer ride.

Great product BUT wrong power plug
I received my robot yesterday and so I read the instructions and placed the robot in the pool It worked perfectly But The plug pack that was provided is a us plug and the connection to the robot is a very specific 3 point connection so I can’t just buy a new Australian plug pack I have to buy a converter which is not ideal If you know you are dispatching the unit to Australia surely it would be smart to provide the buyer with the correct plug type Great product but be aware that if you are buying for Australia you will receive the wrong plug type

Four important benefits/savings can be realized with the use of this product
This product is amazing. I had bought another robotic pool skimmer based on price and it was a joke. This one was recommended by an engineer friend and should have listened. This unit has never needed charging after the initial charge. It has been running on solar power ever since. Our pool is next to a forest and meadow and therefore have a heavy load off seed pods, pollen, insects etc get into our pool. We have noticed four large improvements - 1) no longer have to manually skim the pool before a swim 2) less frequent cleaning of the pool skimmer basket resulting in much better and more consistent flow of water to the pool 3) much less frequent use of our robotic pool vacuum as there is much less debris falling to the bottom of the pool 4) This last one was unexpected - savings in chemical cost - we do not have to intermittently shock the pool and are using much less chlorine pucks as we have significantly reduced the amount of debris/organics going into the pool and consuming these actives. I wish we knew about this robotic pool skimmer much earlier as it is saving us time and money.

Simply Brilliant !!!
First off I have to say I am not affiliated with Betta and that I paid for my device. I mention this because the Betta is brilliant, in fact it’s better than brilliant, it’s a total game changer. My pool used to have a ton of pollen, dead insects, algae and dust on the surface, this would collect in corners like a soup and line the walls. Enter the Betta! I love that there is no configuration; remove a couple of pieces of tape, slide the power switch on and put the device in the pool. My second home is in West Africa, which is virtually always sunny so I didn’t have to charge it. Straight away it’s collecting all tiny debris on the surface, this little guy works 24/7 cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. After a day I took it out to clean the ton of pollen and other stuff it had picked up. A week in and my pool has never been cleaner, not even when it was built. I also put the chlorine tablet in the basket which is a touch of genius. I used to spend a load of time skimming the pool with the net, problem is dust, sand and other small debris pass right through. Not so with the Betta, every tiny speck is gone, the water is now crystal clear. When I swim I look across the surface and see perfect glassy looking water and nothing else. The Betta never stops; when I’m at work it’s cleaning, when I’m asleep it’s cleaning, when I’m out having a pizza, it’s cleaning… you get the picture. The remote control is also a great touch. I have a hose at one corner of the pool so when it’s time to pull out the Betta and wash-out the basket a couple of presses on the remote sends it the right way. I had one concern; would the Betta get stuck on the pool entrance, which is a dead-end? I also have a couple of built-in tables in the water which could present a challenge. Not a bit of it, it can do a perfect 90 or 180 degree turn if it needs to, therefore it never gets stuck. After six weeks there were two consecutive cloudy days here, for the first time ever, at around midnight on the second day the Betta stopped. The next day the lights were flashing red, then green intermittently, I left it to its devices so it stopped again during the night, however after that it’s been running 24/7 once more. The maintenance of my 11x5 metre in ground pool has now been reduced to around 90 minutes each week. The Betta catches virtually everything, however a very small amount of dust and other particles inevitably get past it. I vacuum the bottom once a week as well as cleaning out the Betta every 3 days. So there I am thinking the Betta is perfect, when one of the lights stops working. Betta support is only available within the US and Canada so I won’t be able to get this repaired. It’s not often that something comes along to give one so much time back as well as making life better, however this is the case here, in fact I couldn’t think of any way to improve it. Five stars, five hundred stars if that were possible.
