The $25 Microphone That Beat My Blue Spark SL
bought this shotgun microphone purely on a whim. At only $25, I expected poor build quality, thin sound, and basically, a novelty item. My goal was a non-traditional one: I wanted a "far-away" mic setup to record myself while working at my desk without a boom arm right in my face. I expected bad sound, bad build quality, and bad everything. I was completely blown away. Unbelievable Sound Quality This microphone sounds INSANE for the price. After applying a slight EQ—which you should do with every microphone to tailor it to your voice and room—it sounds perfect. I decided to run a true test: I recorded audio with this shotgun mic and then with my much more expensive Blue Spark SL. I played both recordings for several people, never telling them which microphone was which, and every single person preferred the sound of the shotgun microphone. It delivers a rich, clear, and focused sound profile that simply shouldn't be possible at this price point. Build Quality and Usage The build quality is also a pleasant surprise. It feels solid and well-constructed, completely contradicting my low initial expectations. The fact that it comes with a windscreen is an added bonus that immediately shows the manufacturer cares about usability. The Only Minor Downside The only true drawback I found is that it does not handle plosives (P's and B's) well. However, this is largely a non-issue for two reasons: It includes a foam windscreen in the box to help mitigate this. In a typical shotgun setup (farther away from the sound source), you will rarely be close enough for plosives to be a major problem. Conclusion If you're looking for an affordable entry into the world of shotgun microphones, or even just a fantastic voiceover/podcast mic, do not hesitate. The sound quality punches far above its weight class and holds its own against microphones literally ten times its price. This is an absolute must-buy and a rare five-star discovery.

Really good microphone for such a low price
This is a very good microphone with great accessories. It came in a nice box but Amazon put the product into a plastic bag for shipping and they damaged the package so bad it destroyed the nice box it came in. I am happy with the microphone very much or I would have sent it back.

Great price for good audio.
Sound quality is really good. Directionality is very good as well. There is a slight hum which other people have noted, but it's really not a deal breaker. You can definitely find mics without this issue, but you'll be spending several times the price. The only issue I've seen is that the microphone mounts that come with this are terrible. They are rigid and transmit every vibration into the mic. Can't really use it mounted to a camera with the standard mounting because of this. Although, it's pretty easy to buy a shock mount which will fix this issue

A solid Shotgun Mic But Still a Bit Noisy With My Pixel phone
I am assuming it is because the .35mm male connector on the mic is TRS and my phone only recognizes TRRs jacks, so in needing to run it through an adaptor that also converts it to a USB-c that I am getting a bit of residual noise bleeding through. Not having tested it with an actual camera or external sound board, I can only speak to my experience which is what I bought it for, filming and editing comedy skits using my Pixel phone. And for that, it isn't optimal, but it's also no less functional than any other external mic I've tried in this format.

great value
This microphone works great for close and midrange use. The sound quality is really good. If you are getting started in videography, interviews, or making ASMR videos, this microphone is a great piece of equipment for getting started. It is powered by an AA battery and you have to remember to turn it on and to the correct setting before it will work. But it can catch really good quality sound for a digital recorder or external software program.

This thing is unbelievable for the price.
I was expecting the sound from this mic to be pretty harsh on the highs or blown out in the lows like most inexpensive mics are, but it's actually pretty flat and extremely clear. The noise cancellation isn't as great as some of the higher end shotgun mics, but is still pretty solid. I've used it for interviews, singers, and guitarists so far, and it has worked out great. I recommend this mic. For just over $20, you can't beat it.

great little kit - But
For the price performance this works very well. The few times I needed an inexpensive solution, This did it. I had it hooked up to a Shure X2U adapter and right into a laptop (without the battery and standard XLR cable) and the result was very impressive for a $40 kit. (Not including the Shure adapter) Since the setup was being incorporated into a web conference the sound quality degrades in all the other devices - other laptops etc. any way. the sound quality of this device is no where near a professional standard but for $40? it's just right.

No Cable as advertised
Box arrived battered and cable was missing. Haven’t had chance to test it because there’s no cable.
