Fits but it could be cut straighter. Had to tug on it a bit to make it into a proper rectangle. For the price paid you expect perfection!

Better smelling cool air output for ARC-12s and similar portable air conditioners, can be had by inserting this charcoal impregnated filter sheet into the holder panel that houses the normal cooling coils air filter door. It can be used along with a 3M fine particle filter without reducing air flow. The filter arrives folded over. You remove it from the thin plastic LDPE bag and carefully unfold it. Then slip it into the filter door after removing the holder panel and then snapping it back down. Air conditioners like the Whynter ARC-12s tend to produce more water than they can use for cooling the freon coils, unlike some Pinguino air units that use more water than they produce as condensation. Therefore the leftover water can start to smell a bit ripe even if you regularly or even constantly drain the condensate through use of a bucket or a drainage tube. By using this charcoal filter (on the air INPUT side), you can minimize the level of airborne particulate smells that can enter the air conditioner and then get into the condensate water. It makes for nicer smelling cold air output from the front of your Whynter portable!

Have ordered these replacement filters previously, and was very satisfied. The new replacements, however, are poorly cut, so they don't fill the frame, and they obviously contain less charcoal (see photos). Already returned them once, but the replacements are just as bad. Very disappointing and a lot of hassle.
