can the roots be used to grow tumeric plants?

Yes they can, 1- do not keep them in plastic 2 - make sure the moisture is at a minimum otherwise mould will set in 3 - once a germination occur, normally within a week or two plant them in their "final" compost, meaning do not replant later as they will not like to be disturbed. This will have to be done in late spring or indoors at other times as long as you have enough light in your house. If this is for flower growing it will be a challenge as all tropical conditions will need to be met. If it is for more roots growing, let the compost dry out in the Autumn and wait until the plant dies, you can then dig out the fresh roots but as we sell 150 kilos of fresh turmeric a week we will definitely beat you on the amount you will produce !!! Will it freeze like ginger root does?

I keep these on the freeze, on a semi-closed crystal jar and like this, they are preserved quite good for weeks (not for 4 months or a year :D but at least for 2 months, yes). I hope this helps you. Cheers.

This is no reflection on seller but advice to buyer that if you only use it occasionally your better to buy the smaller bag more

These were OK but I will return to the smaller portion as they went off by time I used most of the bag. This is no reflection on seller but advice to buyer that if you only use it occasionally your better to buy the smaller bag more often.
