Initial opinions below. Wanted to replace an older big brand 4 year old liquid cooler (2 fans wide) on a i5-12600K. Old cooler was quiet when working etc, but fans been loud when gaming from the beginning - also pump had a quiet but audible voice. Probably it had issues due to age etc, but I wanted a quieter maintenance free solution, no liquids in my pc case, no air bubbles etc. I was not sure how going from liquid to air will work out as far as temps, but according to initial results, temps went DOWN from 75c to 65c when benching CPU with exactly the same software and setup, and it's now basically silent(!!!!) when gaming - a MASSIVE difference. I could also remove a LOT of kit and wires related to the old cooler from the case, the new cooler is actually smaller and lighter than I thought it would be and it looks quite compact inside the case - and as its assymetric I could line it up very close to a fan on the case, so while the fan on the cooler pushes the air through, the fan on the chassis pulls the warm air from it and pushes it outside. Overall I am very-very happy with my 50 quid purchase.

Paired it with a Ryzen 7 5800X. Haven’t pressed it yet, apart from some benchmarks and GTA 5, but it dropped my idle cooling from 45C to 33C going from stock to this. Installation was probably the best part, as the brackets and screwdriver made it a breeze. The fan holders are annoying to deal with, especially after you’ve mounted the heatsink, but I’m using a mid tower, so it will probably be better for those with room to manoeuvre. Overall, 5 stars.

Arrived ahead of schedule! I've used Scythe in my last 3 builds, and this one's the best yet. Fitting was straightforward and secure, and the 120 fan runs quietly. Note it does fit LGA1850 - it's the same as LGA1700

I was looking for an aftermarket air cooler to replace my Wraith Stealth Cooler, which was extremely loud, especially when in my new Fractal North case. Looking at the review, this seemed to hit the mark for cooling, noise levels and price (significantly cheaper than Noctua, for example). Couldn't be more pleased with this cooler. I'm getting 10 degrees cooler with my 5600x at idle, and temps of around 60 when playing Cyberpunk compared to my old cooler and this cooler to really quiet, only really noticeable when powering on the computer for its initial blast of the case fans. It's also a low height and fits the Fractal North Mesh case perfectly.

Despite mine had a manufacturing error as it was bent out of place which puts it at a crooked angle the Scythe Mugen 6 still delivers great cooling performance, especially with Noctua fans.
