Arduino GIGA Display Shield [ASX00039] - 3.97” Touch Screen Solution for Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi with IMU, Digital Microphone, and Arducam Connector for Enhanced Project Functionality

This GIGA Display Shield and the GIGA R1 WiFi processor are the latest high end Arduinos designed for hobbyists and makers. So while they're more expensive than other Arduinos, you get what you pay for. First two very important caveats: 1. The GIGA Display Shield only works with the GIGA R1 WiFi and will not fit on any other current Arduino. 2. Be sure to mount this display on the BOTTOM of the GIGA R1.(See photo) This is totally counterintuitive and the exact opposite of every other Arduino shield. But it's a brilliant move. It makes the two board combo thinner since there are only low profile sockets between the boards and not the typical stacking headers. And most importantly it leaves the top of the GIGA R1 open and available for all of the normal Arduino expansion shields, including the breadboard shield so you can make your own custom shield or PCB. Also keep in mind that if the display is pointing up, then the Arduino expansion slots and any attached shields will be pointing down, and you will need a suitable enclosure.. So the GIGA Display Shield has an amazing display. It's very high resolution, very bright, very fast and easy to program. It works in any of four orientations including portrait, landscape and the two opposite rotations. (0, 90, 180, 270) And it's very very fast to update and doesn't consume any of the normal Arduino IO pins. The GIGA Display Shield also has an excellent touchscreen. I found it to be fast and reliable. (I hate a poor touchscreen) It detects from one up to five simultaneous touch points and quickly gives you a list of their coordinate points. Pretty amazing. I'm a single click guy myself but it can do multi-touch gestures if you want to. The GIGA Display Shield also has some surprising features I haven't tried yet except for some basic tests and running the demo apps; ArduinoCam camera connector, digital microphone, a user programmable single RGB LED, 6-axis IMU. The IMU has great potential if you want to implement a virtual joystick or even just change between portrait and landscape views based on how you're holding the display. There are lots of easy to understand Example programs included to get you started using any particular feature quickly. Both the GIGA Display Shield and the GIGA R1 processor are a bit pricey but well worth it if you want a top of the line Arduino system and display that just works! I bought two more sets after the first set worked so well together.

Works much better than I expected for such a small platform. Impressive.

Nice display. It plugs directly into the Giga R1, there are no cables. The touch screen works quite well and, due to the voluptuous number of I/O pins on the R1, it doesn't leave you wanting. When attached, the display does block the I/O pin headers somewhat and I do find myself exercising care when attaching the display to the R1 because it's a bit difficult to be confident I've got it lined up correctly. I bought the terminal block for the R1 as well, with the three pieces I'm having a riot prototyping all sorts of things.

I love this display!

It fits perfectly and does what it needs to. Remember to download the required libraries for programming with it.

It is strangely difficult to determine, but this is a shield only, it does not have an MCU of its own and pretty much requires a Arduino Giga R1 Wifi board. When paired with one (it attaches to the BACK of the Arduino FYI) it works very well!

The display works as intended, it has some very good examples on the Arduino page. I was sent a used-returned item that was already opened.

Questo dispositivo e arrivato nella sua scatola originale ben imballato e protetto. Fatto appositamente per essere compatibile è plug and play con Arduino giga R1. Un prodotto ottimo per chi si affaccia alla programmazione ed a progetti fai da te. Arduino non si smentisce mai. Ci sono molti tutorial online, guide, PDF , schede tecniche tutto o occorre te per iniziare. Colori ottimi, risposta buona, e touch preciso se ben calibrato. Il supporto verde che vedete in foto non e in dotazione ma l ho stampato in 3d io per comodità di utilizzo nel fasi di coding. Il prezzo non e basso ma coerente con le potenzialità.

Ich hab mir hiermit und mit dem Giga einen Star Trek Wettercomputer gebaut. Lebet lang und in Frieden!

Semble un bon produit branché fait essai de base fonctionne bien, pas encore vraiment fait essai sérieux

Muy buen producto, un poco complicado de instalar la simulación de Windows, pero una vez resuelto , es muy útil 👍
