Very useful to build vocabulary and get you reading
I enjoyed reading this book. It’s broken into short chapters, so none of them are too daunting, and each one takes the main character through a fairly everyday experience that helps to introduce vocabulary suitable for the context - going to the doctors, diet, exercise, work … I liked the fact that there was a thread to the story, though you’re always aware that the main point here is to build your language and reading skills rather than entertain you with a rollercoaster Hitchcockian thriller. After each chapter there’s a list of key vocabulary, some comprehension questions, and an English translation. The vocabulary is always useful, and is often repeated, through the book, making it more memorable. I picked up a lot of useful language that I was able to use in my Spanish conversations. It also helped to build my confidence in being able to read without it being too much of a chore. Very useful indeed.

I really like this book. However, it seems to use a lot of verbs in imperfect indicative format or imperfect subjunctive format where I believe simple preterite would have suffice
