Scratch and Newton Ice Pod

These ice pods are a must for rabbits and dogs in the hot weather. They stay cool for ages and have survived being dug and bitten by both species! I originally had one for my lop eared bun who loves his. He doesn't tend to lie on it but lies next to it. A lot of people say you can use frozen bottles of water, but these pods are worth spending money on as they are so thick, stay cold for ages and I trust it being left in his cage as I know he can't eat the material. He also digs it and hasn't managed to even mark it. I got another one for my Keeshond puppy and he desperately needs it in the hot weather. He's much less well behaved than the rabbit, he tries to bite it and lick it but so far he hasn't managed to damage it severely, just scratch the outside. It's very thick and durable. He loves to lie on it and I sometimes put it in a cool bag and take it with me to places, it stays freezing cold for hours. Every pet should have one of these to themselves, it should be marketed for dogs just as much as small flurries in my opinion. Cool mats are great but not as effective in my opinion and much more delicate!

Before coming across the Scratch and Newton Ice Pod we had a cooling mat which the bunnies didn’t use and it wasn’t very safe as it was made from material/ fabric and was easily chewable. I was worried our bunnies wouldn’t use the Scratch and Newton Freeze pod. I now look back and think why didn’t we buy these sooner. Both my bunnies love their freeze pod. We have a few and rotate them. They don’t defrost too quickly, neither of my bunnies chew them and the best part is you can relax knowing the gel inside is not toxic. Unlike frozen water bottles where your bunnies/ Guinea pigs can chew through the plastic the Scratch and Newton Ice Pods are excellent quality and not very chewable. One of my bunnies is a chewer and he just knows to lie on it rather than chew it. Another benefit of ordering this freeze pod is that delivery is fast and customer service is excellent. Honestly best investment I wish I had made the purchase sooner! Thank you !

Good product, however, plug came loose after washing. Can't use it now so not a great purchase. Scratch and Newton called me on the same day I emailed them. They couldn't have been more apologetic and I received a replacement the next day, hence the increased rating to four stars. Thanks S &N.

I’ve had the Scratch and Newton I’ve Pods before when Pets at Home used to stock them and was thrilled to find them on Amazon this year. My buns Honey (pictured) and Pepper love them and spend all day laying with their heads on top of them. They weren’t dealing with the heat well (they were both born this winter) and were lethargic and grumpy, happy to say that after these arrived on Wednesday they’re back to their normal cheeky selves. I couldn't recommend them more they’re much better than the chemical cool pads they sell in Pets at Home now and for £10 a piece how can you go wrong?!

I can't even describe how happy I am about this product honestly !! I've been searching for a way to cool my bunny specially during the summer coming and tried quite a few of different ones before but I've always been concerned about my bunny wellbeing as she tried to chew them and I couldn't let her alone with without being super worried. But this one changed everything !!! the material is really good and totally bunny proof even for the little chewers! My baby bun loves to sleep over it !!! And it is so simple to use, just in the freezer for a little, I like to put it in a pillowcase as well just so it doesn't get too cold either and that's it !! plus it stays cool for a long period of time so that's really great !! And the price is reasonable and worth every pennies 🥰🌸 So glad I ordered it !!

Got two of these for the heat wave this summer! Honestly saved my bunnies, they both loved laying on them, licking them, scratching at them.. enrichment And cooled them down. Thick heavy plastic so the bunnies couldn’t damage them or burst them at all. And you just refreeze them again and again. Anyone who has rabbits or any animals that struggle in heat should get these. Also came much quicker than was advised which was brilliant too. Overall 10/10

I place this in their hutch and they lie against it in the heat. I own more than one of these so i can switch them out so they stay cold thoughout the day. Perfect in the summertime. Easy to wipe clean, no chances on them nibbling through it and big enough for 2 small bunnies to share. If your bunnies aren’t very cuddly with each other or are quite big I recommend getting one for each.

I really like this product as my bunnies love it. It keeps them nice a cool. They love laying on them when it's hit. I've only had them 2 months or so and out of the 4 original ones I brought, I've had to throw 1 away due to the plug coming out. This meant that I couldn't use it again. I brought another to replace it but now another plug has come out of one if the originals. Now I'm back to 3 again when I wanted 4. I'm not going to keep wasting my money buying these if they are not going to last long.
