This has been a great purchase. The camera strap is really comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Its wide enough that it doesn't fell like its cutting into your neck. Because it goes over the shoulder, you can wear it on either side. I used it while traveling and it was a great experience. The camera attachment has a piece that allows the camera to rotate without coming undone. It also includes a safety strap that goes to the hook on the strap, which makes sure you wont drop your camera if the mount comes undone. I have not had any issues with it coming undone on its own. The way it sits on your shoulder makes it easy to walk around as you can tighten it to hug your side or even rotate it a bit so its a bit behind you. The strap even has a zipper on the shoulder pad for storing some small items like extra memory cards or even some cash or a credit card. Great product and quality. It does not feel cheaply made at all. I hope to try out some more BLACKRAPID items in the future. Very much worth the cost of it.

I bought the RS-7 in 2012, and have used it regularly ever since. Most comfortable (and logical and convenient) camera strap I've ever owned. I bought this new RS-4 not to replace it, but so I could have a Black Rapid strap for both of my main cameras (I'd been swapping the RS-7 between bags for the past 5 years). I fully expect this new RS-4 to be as reliable and as comfortable to use as my old strap, and to last just as long--longer, actually, now that I have two of them. If you carry long lenses especially, you will not want to pass on this strap. There are drastically cheaper options on Amazon, but I felt more comfortable shelling out the dough to buy this one because I already know how rugged and reliable they are. Cannot recommend this strap highly enough.

I've been using the Sony A6300 camera with the 16-50mm kit lens and OEM neck strap for several years. But arthritis in my neck is severely aggravated by the weight of the camera resting on the back of my neck. I also just replaced my OEM kit lens with a Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 lens which almost doubles the weight of the camera/lens combo. The shoulder sling is much more forgiving to my neck and the ability to grab the camera and almost instantly slide it into shooting position is really great. It is especially helpful when you need both hands free and need to lean over. The camera no longer dangles from your neck, swinging into anything in front of you, like a rock if you're rock scrambling. Some people have said the included safety tether is too short and it might be IF you have the tether attached to the tripod socket of a long telephoto lens instead of the camera's socket. However, I've found it to be perfectly sized to fit my Sony A6300 and Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 lens. It's not as heavy duty as some others you pay extra for, but it gets the job done well and is included with the strap. I suggest you try the included strap before you decide to upgrade to something heavier or longer.

I was using the Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap. It's a great strap but there's SO much strap on each end it gets in the way when I use my camera and I'm just waiting for the connector to give out since they do wear out. I don't want to take a chance that my camera and lens will hit the ground when I least expect it. I have been passing over using the Black Rapid straps for so long and when the bulk of the Peak Design strap got to be too much I finally bought one. I didn't want the strap with the under arm strap because I don't like to feel confined and I can't see how this would work with bulky clothes on so I bought the "original" RS-4. It's also a VERY minimalistic strap. I've been told by many photographers that the tether included with the strap is pretty much useless. I ordered this "Foto&Tech Safety Camera Strap Tether Leash Fits Any Sling Up to 1.5 Inch Wide with Durable Stainless Steel Carabiner and High Strength Cord " and I'm very happy with it. The strap itself is very very light. It almost feels like it's too light to hold any weight. No so...The strap is wide enough that it will fit on any shoulder. Without the under arm strap though it does shift around a bit. My solution: I put several lines of a hot glue gun. (see picture) Problem Solved! Now it doesn't move around. You do need to pay attention to the instructions when installing the strap. When you screw on the connector you screw it on hand tight and when you add the locking carabiner you hold onto it and make another small twist which helps the rubber washer expand and stay tight. The strap has a very convenient zippered pouch on it so you can store a lens cloth or sd cards. It also fit either a LEFT or RIGHT shoulder. A few of the black rapid are left or right specific. The strap has spring loaded bumpers that you can put on each end of the carabiner so the camera doesn't move around when you walk. It's totally adjustable so you can wear it above your hip or at your hip. Depends what is the most comfortable for you. It's probably one of the most comfortable straps you can buy in my opinion. The only negative I can find with the strap is the carabiner knocks into the camera when you're handling it and some people have had the coating on the camera come off where it touches the camera. I just make sure when I store it to put something under the carabiner so it doesn't knock around. Adding the additional tether I feel this strap is very secure and very comfortable. Do Not buy the knock off brand unless you're 100% sure it's safe. There are many mixed reviews on the knock off on Amazon. I'm looking forward to many many photo shoots with it.

The BLACKRAPID RS-4 Retro Classic, Original Camera Sling for my Nikon Z8 and Nikkor Z 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 Telephoto Zoom works flawlessly! I use it mounted to the foot of this lens, and for extra security, I have the included short tether strap tied at one end to the lens collar strap eyelet, and the other end I have attached to a carabiner and to the knob ring. This way, even if the knob gets unscrewed from the lens foot (highly unlikely), the lens will still be attached to the RS-4 strap via the tether! The shoulder pad is also quite comfortable, and the way that this strap permits easy "swinging" of the camera rig up to the eye, is simply awesome! And when not actively shooting, I can swing the rig down to my hip and merely "guide" it holding the lens foot with my right hand when hiking, thus minimal strain on my right hand/arm when walking with it. Very comfortable, functional, and of course, highly recommended!

I lost a black rapid strap, just like this one and did not hesitate to replace it. I love black rapid products, and this strap will last the life of the camera.

I am new to DSLR photography and this is the first over the shoulder strap setup I have tried. I spent a great deal of time reading and researching before settling on the BlackRapid Classic Retro RS-4. The mounting to the camera body is very secure with the primary screw and locking d ring, then they added a secondary strap thru the camera's neck strap mount for added security. I used this for the first time on a trip to San Antonio last weekend. I put the camera over my shoulder and across my body first and then a back pack. The strap was comfortable and even with the backpack over both shoulders I had no problem lifting the camera along its strap for photographs. The locking clamps worked great to keep it from gliding up and down as I moved. If you have tried other cross body straps you know the aggravation of the shoulder pad migrating as you move the camera, not with the BlackRapid, everything stays put. This is certainly a more costly alternative but your camera is worth much more and you can have peace of mind that this strap will not fail and damage it. The instructions are a little vague on how to set the rig up the first time but fear not, BlackRapid's website has a very thorough video to explain it all. Do yourself a solid and stop the search for the perfect camera strap and buy this one!

The best camera strap on the market. Not cheap. But well worth it to keep you camera handy and secure.

This was the third one from three different companies, first lasted 3 weeks and the second lasted 6 days before the fixtures broke, came apart and well, just 100% fail until this one.....PERFECT

Have used one of these straps for years and would not do without it. i have never had neck pain while using one as i did with the strap supplied with the camera. Eat of use and extremely convenient.

Enfin une sangle d'épaule digne de ce nom et qui respecte l'ergonomie. Elle se clipse en 23 sec sur le pas de vis de l'appareil et le mousqueton de sécurité est de premier ordre, vissé + fermeture i'automatique. Ce n'est pas made in china et je n'ai nullement peur que mon mark III chute à terre, c du solide !
