If you are conisdering buying a barcode scanner out of general curiosity it's important to remember that the scanner is useless until it is linked to some form of software to accept and interpret the input from the scanner. Without appropriate software the scanner input just goes nowhere and nothing will happen. Software is not supplied - this is normal. Various freeware software applications are readily available as well as powerful applications intended for commercial use, and the latter are not free. I bought this scanner to read the barcodes of books directly into an online library database which takes care of the software requirments specific to books. Thus, if I point the scanner at anything other than the barcode on a book, the result is a nullity. This scanner is wired and powered via USB. It has no battery. I have not used the scanner with any of the freeware applications, but I believe that these would display the product information of whatever product you have scanned. Having used this standing desktop model for a couple of weeks I can say that is responsive, accurate, fast and reliable.

This is a well-made, light, easy to use barcode scanner. While I could get it to scan on Mac, it didn't seem to send through any information - likely due to a security setting perhaps? But on PC. with each scan, the information is passed through as text followed by a carriage return - so is great for cataloguing items quickly. Great value!

Need a bar code scanner and this does the job

Very good quality USB barcode scanner made from good materials it is lightweight but feels solid and durable. I have been using this on a Mac and so far I have had no issues it has worked straight out of the box this has impressed me a lot. No need for a separate power supply it is powered from the same USB cable which is a bonus. I am very happy with this USB barcode scanner it is a very good price and I would recommend it.

Très bien sauf que mes deux commandes de la semaine dernière j'ai été obligé de les renvoyer car la personne qui m'a enregistré la commande n'y connais rien et qui m'envoie un kit de freinage au lieu de m'envoyer des plaquettes de frein avant, du grand n'importe quoi 😡😡😡
