I have always avoided Granny Squares, finding them small, fiddly and confusing. This card deck has turned me into a Granny Square Hater to a Granny Square Lover. The cards are really easy to follow, a high quality photo of a Square on one side and the instructions shown as a crochet chart on the back. I had never used a chart before, but I found it really easy to use once I got used to it. It is really helpful to see a picture showing which stitch below your new stitch should be going into or skipping. I can't always visualise how things should look when reading written instructions, this makes it much clearer. I really like how the complexity progresses through the cards. The cards start simple and increase in difficulty. 1 card introduces a new technique that can be used in a Square, and the next few show you different ways to use it. Then a few cards later it gives you a new thing to learn and a few new ways to use it. I have found my stitches havr got neater and I am better at weaving in ends. I have seen a massive improvement in how my stitches looks in the few weeks I have worked on the deck. It has taken me from beginner to advanced beginner . I am excited to take away my new skills and try them on other projects

Just starting off in crochet and these have been perfect to improve my technique and grow confidence. Clear easy instructions. Would be a great idea for an alternative advent calendar for a crafty person. I'm using my practice squares to make a sensory baby book and have already ordered yarn to make my first top using granny squares. Can't wait! Lost one star just because there are a few of very similar designs that are still useful but do feel a bit like filler cards to make up numbers

These are great fun for the crochet fan. One should note that the patterns are on the back in chart form so if you are unfamiliar to charts it may throw you off. The charts are very easy to follow and full Comprehensive instructions are included.

If you like crocheting you will love this box of cards

I'm working my way though these as a scrap.yarn project and as a new crocheter it's a great way of learning new stitches. The reason I've marked it down is an accessibility problem. The size of print is small which affects legiblity and this is even worse when printed on a coloured background especially a darker one. I've got a lot better at reading pattern charts but again the print size can be a bit difficult to read, especially in the paper shades and the yellow was almost impossible to read. I have good eyesight but these issues would make the cards impossible to use for anyone with a visual impairment.

This is going to be my new hobby for the New Year. Its a brilliant idea. Can come up with a design by laying the cards out before you start. Easy to follow instructions.

I love using these, especially for inspo. Once you get the hang of one of the designs, it’s easy to adapt it to your preferences. Instructions are super clear and the design options are essentially limitless. I know some people have said they found the cards disappointing because some were duplicates, just with different colors, but I haven’t found any, they all seem to be different.
