*Update in April 2026* - very good customer service rep reached out quickly after I had the issue, and issued not only a replacement but also a refund. Their customer service is still the best and I appreciate them reaching out quickly to help me. The replacement unit had no issue adhering to the back at all, so I must've gotten a faulty initial product. I’ve been using various ESR cases since my very first iPad more than a decade ago, so was excited to make my latest ESR buy for my iPad Pro. The design is smart and light for the rebound series, with two inconveniences. First, the back of the case at the camera unit angles up and leaves a gap between the back of the iPad and the case. There should be a magnet near the camera part for better fit. This was not the case for my previous ESR case. Also the cover extends just a bit over the edge of the case, making the pencil roll off easily when trying to secure the flap. It is a shame for this product because the price point is ideal and the quality is otherwise great and no issue accessing buttons. The product did come with ESR’s easy replacement with no return needed policy for item doesn’t fit or work properly, which is this case. I’ll be reaching out for a replacement and hope it work better.

Edit 2: ESR sent me a new version about a month after launch, with properly working wake/sleep. Love this case & ESR's customer support. I went ahead and removed any mention of sleep/wake not working, so it wouldn't confuse anyone looking to buy the case going forward. This case has a lot of Pros for the iPad Pro. I purchased both this case and the official Smart Cover from Apple (as well as a Magic Keyboard). I just wanted a case for when I wanted to bring the iPad places without the Magic Keyboard and this seemed like a decent case at a much lower price point. I returned the Apple one and kept this. Pros: - Decently made, I like the feel of the cover. It is relatively the same feeling, grip/texture, structure and as the original Apple folios. I have owned other aftermarket folios and they felt like they had cardboard inside - this one feels like quality. - The magnets are strong and hold the iPad in place. It's not difficult to remove but I am also not worried it will fall out. - I really love the flap for securing the pencil to the side. This is the best solution, since you can drop this in your bag with the pencil attached (and charging) and not worry about it falling off. The flap doesn't get in my way at all, even if I don't have the pencil attached - and I can magnetically fold it back out of the way. - Biggest Pro is the price Cons - The 'lip' of the case sticks out further than the original Apple folio, which cuts into your hand slightly. It was the biggest noticeable difference between the two cases and the first thing my girlfriend pointed out. At almost 1/5th the cost, the case is good in comparison to the Apple one. I do really like the flap for the pencil. Edit #1: ESR reached out to me, as my main complaint with this cover is/was the sleep & wake functioning not working. They shared a little hack using a Post It Note to make the sleep & wake function workThey also said they are working to correct the case in a future iteration, without the need to use the sticky note - in which case, it will be a 5 star product, IMO. Really appreciate ESR support reaching out.

I was looking for a light-weight, magnetic attachment case for a new iPad Pro and Gemini recommended this one. It meets all our expectations and is a far better value than cases from The Apple Store

This is a nice little case for the new iPad Pro (2024). It is very light weight and works well for my needs. The magnets are strong so you don't need to worry about the case coming off by itself. I like that I can use it in two different angles depending on what I'm doing. I wouldn't say this is great for drop protection but for carrying in your bag and just consuming media it is great. The one thing that is a downside is it does not lock the iPad when you close the case so you have to lock it yourself, but that's not a huge deal. I do also notice that the Apple Pencil doesn't sit quite correctly on the side but that is due to the iPad being so slim and the case ends up almost pushing the pencil a bit. All in all without spending the money for the apple case this one is priced just right.

There are many things to love about this case. The finish is excellent, with a kind of rubberized eggshell satin feel that feels very good to the touch and doesn’t excessively attract fingerprints. It's the same finish on the Apple Pencil Pro. The magnets are also adequately strong and securely hold the iPad in place. The inner section is also very good and doesn’t leave any marks on your iPad screen. Overall, it feels very OEM and is a very good value compared to Apple’s folio case. There are only two issues I find problematic. With the folding part of the case there don’t appear to be any magnets to help it stay in place when folded up—just gravity. So, if you lift it up, the base hangs down and collapses when you place it back on a surface. The second issue concerns the Magic Pencil. The case holds the pencil securely in place, but only if it’s placed while the front cover is open. If it’s placed while closed, the magnets won’t make a secure connection, leading to the pencil getting knocked off the next time the front cover is opened. This is because the edge of the case protrudes just enough to prevent a secure connection. This same issue prevents USB accessories from sitting flush against the iPad, forcing users to remove the magnetic back before putting it back after the device is installed. Initially I rated the case poorly because of this issue, but it seems that it is a necessary tradeoff to provide edge protection and Apple's own folio case has the same issue. After several weeks of use I've adapted to mounting the pencil before closing the front cover and it's no longer a problem. Overall I'm happy with it.

Ich war zunächst etwas skeptisch, ob diese Hülle mit der originalen Apple-Hülle mithalten kann, aber ich wurde absolut positiv überrascht. Ich nutze sie an einem iPad Pro M5. Die Passgenauigkeit ist echt gut und das iPad sitzt perfekt in der Hülle, nichts wackelt oder steht über. Durch die eingebauten Magneten hält das iPad sicher und fest, genauso wie man es vom Original kennt. Das Schließen und Öffnen funktioniert dank der Magneten in der Abdeckung einwandfrei, inklusive automatischer Aktivierung und Deaktivierung des Bildschirms. Die Materialanmutung ist sehr angenehm. Die Oberfläche fühlt sich hochwertig an, liegt gut in der Hand und wirkt robust genug, um das iPad ausreichend zu schützen. Innen ist das Material leicht weich, sodass das Display und die Rückseite vor Kratzern geschützt bleiben. Nur der Rahmen bleibt ungeschützt. Praktisch ist, dass sich der Deckel zu einem Ständer umklappen lässt, in zwei verschiedenen Winkeln: einmal etwas flacher, ideal zum Schreiben oder Zeichnen, und einmal steiler, perfekt zum Filmeschauen und Arbeiten. Die Konstruktion ist stabil und hält das iPad gut in der gewählten Position. Optisch unterscheidet sich die Hülle kaum vom Original von Apple. Auch die Verarbeitung ist sehr sauber – keine scharfen Kanten, keine unsauberen Nähte oder ungleichmäßigen Übergänge. Wer eine preisgünstige und hochwertige Alternative zur originalen Apple-Hülle sucht, macht hier nichts falsch. Ich würde sie jederzeit wieder kaufen.
