It's a solid flagship for a great price at $999 or less
So my wife and I did tons of research on robots and watched all the vacuum wars videos and tracked all the prices of our top 3 or 4 that we might want and when this went on sale along with basically all the others we were watching for $999 we finally decided to jump on it. Let me just tell you, this thing is awesome. The short version of this review is we've had this for about 2 weeks at this point, I left basically all the settings stock and just turned on some of the optional features like floor direction mopping and auto reclean so that if it says the water is too dirty it'll mop again until it's clean and then the optional camera where it'll take a picture of what caused it to have to skip an area or was blocked and that is an amazing feature. Highly recommend this vacuum, our floors literally feel slicker/smoother, I never would've thought that just from a mop but they do it does an amazing job. We've also got a Dyson V12 slim with the green laser that litteraly shows any little thing on the floor and we ran the Dyson around the floor like some crime detectives with a black light and all the lights off and we found like maybe one or two little things... It's incredible. Ok now for the rest of it. Weve got 2 dogs and while the auto empty station isn't quiet by any means none of it bothers our dogs. The first couple times it ran our smaller dog was a little suspicious but he got over it after that. I have yet to see my power bill after having this so I guess that's something I can't comment on with the whole hot air drying the mop pads but I'd rather pay a little extra for electricity than have some stanky musty mop pads that defeat the whole purpose of the self care base station. It does go through some water though I must say, but the water tanks are nice and large unlike almost every coffee maker that has a tank too small, this certainly has some big tanks. Easy to open and close/take out and put back in. I kind of love that the doors to access everything like the water tanks and bag and mopping detergent stuff are all kind of hidden haha it just looks so clean and elegant. I especially love that you don't "have to" buy their floor cleaning detergent, there's a plastic container that you fill with whatever you want and it'll automatically add it to the robots water when it refills it. However a bottle of their stuff did come inside the box which was nice to get started, it also came with 2 bags which should last quite a long time. Something worth mentioning is while I love a good box that has just enough clearance to let what's inside slowly slip out, when it comes to heavy awkward items like the base station I'd be ok if they could like not do that cause having to hold the base station while someone else pulls the box off was quite the effort. Other options would be advised haha lay it down and pull it out onto the floor but be careful not to scratch it. The app is also another area where we have had no problems at all, the app is very good, little clunky at times and on my android phone at least it doesn't respond well to the swiping back guesture. So I've clicked many buttons trying to swipe back to the previous screen and now I just use the on screen controls like the X or back arrow on whatever screen I'm on. I integrated the vacuum with our Google smart home system which worked flawlessly. It runs every night and mapped the whole floor in a matter of like 5 minutes the first time it ran and since then it's just gotten better and more efficient. It takes pictures like I said earlier of anything that we may have left on the floor or shoes or cables or whatever but it still does its best to clean as close to them as possible which it does a great job at. I did have to tape down one cable to our powered recliner so that it wouldnt keep pushing it across the floor but that was minor and it was only that one cable cause it wouldn't lay flat, it always has been rather bendy and stiff so I can't really fault the vacuum for that one but now that it's taped down it has no problems. All in all so far I can't complain about this thing, it does everything it says it does and even fits under most our furniture which is always a neglected area for us haha

Cleans very well. Real time saver.
We have been using the X40 for less than 2 months. Keep this in mind in considering our eval. Best feature for us by far is the ability to have it leave the mop pads at the docking station while it vacuums. This has eliminated a number of potential problems. We always have it vacuum then mop. Our bedrooms and living room are carpeted. Kitchen, dining and entry areas are all tile. Prior to this we have been using a RoboRock that is more than 5 years old. Do not recall model & it did not mop. My wife is convinced that this is cleaning our low pile carpets much better. We do not have pets so pet hair is not an issue for us. We generally use in only a couple times a week. The X40 takes longer to vacuum than the old roborock did, but we have had not issues with it getting stuck. House is about 2500 square feet on one level, and we block off one bedroom. It usually recharges at least once before the vacuuming and mopping is complete. Knowing about how long it is going to take to clean, we have had no problem with finding times to run it without interfering with any household activities. The docking station appears to be well designed. Disposing of used mop water after several sessions makes it not so care free as advertised. Like other high end models, the fact it cleans the mop pads with hot water & dries them is a huge convenience. The X40 also took a lot longer to dock the first time. Much less time subsequently, but docking is not quick. We are very pleased that we have a cubby hole in our front entry where the docking station fits with minimal clearance on each side. This may be increasing docking time. See Picture. The price is significant, but if one considers time saved, we consider it a bargain. The value of the trade off of price & timed saved will very for each household. We would strongly encourage purchase of this item for homes where finances are not a significant limiting factor. However, as noted above we have only used about two months and can not comment on longer term durability. Product support has been excellent. They sent email to be certain everything was working well, and asked us to follow up with them if we were having any issues. We received answers to questions within a couple days.

Multiple issues. Works OK but not great. -- IPHONE APP NOW BROKEN!
I'll say to begin with that I use this in a high-end garage that has tile floor. I got clean the floor each week, in a place where floors typically fairly dirty. Before cleaning, I use the leaf blower to clean debris as much as possible, then put the vacuum / mop to work. Issues I have: 1. The dust bin doesn't self-clean and gets full quickly -- I clean it after every vacuum. I thought it would self-empty the dust, but it does NOT do this. I believe most people will have to empty / clean the dust bin each time they run the vacuum. For reference, I have a different brand vacuum/mop for indoors, cleaning hair from two cats. The indoor unit captures more debris than the X40 does, so I don't think the floor it is cleaning is all that dirty. 2. The mop heads installation fails EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have it set to vacuum, then mop, and the thing errors out in the middle when it goes to install the mops. I have to do it manually. There is no "resume" function at this point, so I have to re-program the unit to mop with no vacuum -- having a "resume" would be better. All told, it takes 5-10 minutes to get the X40 to clean the floor, with half of that time 90 minutes after it stalls out (to manually install the mops). This is versus my expectation that it might be able to clean multiple times with no manual intervention -- not even close! Hence the 2-star rating. The floor ends up mostly clean, but a manual mop works better, and this is with the mop set to the wettest setting, and doing the deepest possible clean. So that is disappointing as well. If I had it to do over again, I'd either try another high-end mop/vacuum unit from another company, or just get a lower-end unit since the mop doesn't work that well. Would not buy this one again. EDIT: changing my review to 1-star. The app that I have stopped working, and without that the vacuum is useless to me. When I bring up the app, the screen comes up and is blank, I have not been able to fix this. There is no app update due, and if this is caused by Dreamhome servers being down, they have been down for 4+ hours. I'm going to try uninstalling & reinstalling the app. But for a $1200+ vacuum I should not have to be doing this!

Functionality
As a much older person I bought a robot to help out. Within one month of watching it, I went out and purchased an upgrade a Dreame x40 I have never enjoyed more than watch this fantastic thing work and clean. The way it mapped out our rooms, were so well done. I could send it to a cheerio on the floor. Vacs and Mops our kitchen every two nights. Am I happy? Of this thing only lasted six months I would go out and buy another one. ( I hope not🙏 that was Just a figure of speech😂)

(See Update 12/3/2024) -- Failures and Slow Service - Skip Dreame products in the US for now
We were initially very happy when I bought this item back in July, but it has since become a headache by October. In General: Navigation, obstacle avoidance, suction, and dock are very good, the small filter clogs quite a bit. It consumes way too much water when running cleanings back-to-back so it doesn't really track whether the mop pads are freshly cleaned or not and runs a complete mop washing routine right after it just cleaned them. We also wish that the side brush operated when cleaning carpets. The detergent tank is a nice feature and seems to work well. We have high pile rugs and it works well on them with the mop pads left back at the dock (an optional setting). The Main Issue: The Side brush sensor has a common failure issue where it will report that it is tangled even if it not. After countless emails with support then having to pack/mail it in, I got the unit back from the repair center in Texas -- it immediately failed again, so the issue was not resolved. It's been almost a month of back and forth and it's pretty obvious that they are dragging their feet now. Our family relies on dependable products that are usable and not out of service for weeks on end (especially given the price point). Service: I've been bounced around when clearly I just need a new unit so I'm not forced to wait another few weeks for a "repair" in the hopes that it will be right this time. Currently very disappointed and wishing I would have gone with a Roborock now. We may need to open a case with Amazon or Credit company since they are not honoring their warranty in a timely manner. I will definitely update this review if anything changes, but as for now I really can't recommend this unit or Dreame based on my personal experience. -------------------------------------------------------- Update 12/3/2024: So, it took about 22 emails between requesting the first repair and getting a replacement unit. Once I posted this review however, I was contacted by a different Dreame rep and they sent me out a replacement and it arrived within 5 days of the review and has been working well. My original unit had already been sent in a second time at this point, but they did not request that I send them the old base station which was really nice. I'm grateful to add 2 stars as a result of their good-faith efforts -- It isn't the full 5 for two reasons: First, it was still an unreasonable amount of time and effort to get the unit repaired, re-repaired and then replaced. They are clearly making improvements in this area, but they still have a bit more work to get their service teams aligned and communicating correctly. Secondly, they have emailed me over 10 times (to two different email addresses) since sending the replacement unit asking me to update or delete my review. I told them I would be testing the unit before updating, so I've needed a few weeks to do so. I don't think deleting or requesting the deletion of a review is appropriate since it is my real personal experience and I want others to understand the full picture. Lastly, the poor English in the App makes the overall experience a bit less enjoyable. It would take someone 10 minutes to fix, but I guess it must not be a priority at this moment. I would gladly hop on the phone or send in a quick email to help if they'd like -- It's small stuff but it adds up in certain areas. To Dreame's full credit, they have consistently been accommodating, kind, and clearly making their best effort to resolve any and all issues that came up with the machine and the repair process. Since the replacement unit is now working well (I've tested it for about 3+ weeks now) I will absolutely consider buying from them again, and I think others can feel confident doing the same, especially if you buy an extended warranty as well.

Terrific little helper
Love it! I've had my Dreame for 18 months now and I just love it! - My husband got it for me for as a gift. He (we) put a lot of work into researching the various brands. - The initial set up takes a little time mapping out your house, but the app is pretty intuitive figuring out hard surfaces from carpet etc. Take the time to put up "walls" and "no-go" zones, and to figure out how to make the app work for you. There are a few hidden features that take a while to discover and use. - Its really great at light vacuuming if you do it often. The vacuum cup does not hold much, so if you have a pet (I have two) you either have to do a deep vacuum every so often, or use the vacuum feature every other day. -Get a replacement filter so you can frequently swap the filter out, rinse the dirty one and alternate filters while it dries. -I do a lot of "selective room cleaning" which I like - emphasis on dirty areas w/o cleaning the whole house every time. -The mopping feature is good for not so dirty areas. I mop my bathrooms and kitchen every other day. Every so often I have to manually mop. The little robot has an 80cc water tank to keep the pads wet, and you can set it up to go back to the dock frequently to rinse ( which I do). I am always amazed at how dirty the used water tank is when I empty it. - The reason for this review after 18 months is because I just had an issue with a cracked wheel housing. I'm not sure what happened...dropped? IDK. But when I contacted customer service, they were AMAZING! Covered under warranty. No questions asked. Every e mail received a response w/in 24 hours. I had to describe the problem, upload a photo & invoice. They emailed a paid shipping label. I Packed it up & sent it off (was difficult to part with it :). I tracked where it went, they repaired it in 1 day, and I had back less than 1 week after sending it off.

Amazing! great value! Works great and very intelligent
OMG, vacuum/mop of my DREAMS! It is SO good! I’ve had iRobot vacuums for years and this is definitely the best of the best. It is so smart and has yet to disappoint me. The intelligence of it is so impressive. It can map an entire floor in less than 10 minutes. The app is mostly intuitive if you are familiar with gizmos and gadgets. It takes a bit of getting used to, but if you invest the time to learn it, you will be blown away by the options and settings. Pros: Super smart! Auto empties itself, cleans mop pads, can remove mop pads if you just want to vacuum. Settings for how wet you want the mop pads. Ability to tell it to vacuum AND mop on rugs that you can set individually IF YOU want. For example, I let it vacuum and mop my dining room rug because i have messy toddlers, but it doesn’t mop my living room rug. You can do quick mop and vac or standard clean, or deep clean. It is amazingly smart at avoiding obstacles. It even takes pictures of obstacles and you can tell it to ignore. You can tell it how frequently to wash the mop pads too, either by amount of sq ft or by room, etc. I also love the size of the water tanks. It also maps out extra dirty spots and will ask you if you want it to re-clean. It even avoids emptying the vacuum during the night so it doesn’t make too much noise… and by the way, the vacuum itself and base is incredible quiet in comparison to iRobot. It’s very efficient too in the way it maps out routes for cleaning. Cons: I can’t really think of anything. If I HAD to give it a con, I think it would be just the size of the base, but I like the size of the water tanks and dust bin so it’s not like I’d want it to be smaller. I also think it could maybe be a little riskier when it comes to obstacles, but I think it is probably most appropriate, given you don’t know how messy some houses might be. Overall, the value for the money is on POINT. I can’t imagine a better robot for less money. It’s amazing. Super intelligent, quiet, efficient, PRETTY, and the application seems to have NO limitations. Tip: when initially mapping your floor, pick up anything that is likely to move or what you might want the vacuum to navigate around down, think dining room chairs, for example. If it’s set as an obstacle or blocker in your map, when it goes to clean, it will avoid. You can always remap down the road. I also attached some screenshots from the app! It works great! So clever! I’ve used it for 2 months and I am quite literally blown away by it!!!! We can now walk around our house in white socks and our socks are never dirty! Lol

Beware before purchasing
This is my honest review after 9 months with the Dreame X40. When I first bought it, I thought it was the best thing ever. I’ve owned other top brands like iRobot and Roborock, and this one actually beat them right out of the box. The suction, the mopping, the mapping, everything felt way ahead of the competition. I was so impressed I bragged about it and even convinced friends and family to spend over a thousand dollars on one. Now 9 months later, I regret it. The mop base constantly floods instead of cleaning the pads and leaves dirty water puddles on the floor. The dust bin clogs way too easily, even when it’s not picking up much. Every time I try to mop, the pads don’t detach from the base like they are supposed to and I end up having to manually put them on the robot. That is the exact opposite of the convenience I bought this for. On top of that, the robot constantly complains that it is stuck or that something is in the rotors when nothing is there. It interrupts cleaning runs over and over for no reason. It feels like babysitting an expensive machine that was supposed to save me time. What really frustrates me is how good it was in the beginning. I told people this was the best vacuum on the market. I hyped it up and pushed others to get one. Now not only am I disappointed but the people I convinced to buy one are having the same problems. It is honestly embarrassing to recommend something that falls apart this quickly. Dreame needs to make this right. Whether it is a proper fix, an update, or at least admitting that these issues exist, they cannot just let people drop this much money on a product that declines so fast. I am giving it 2 stars only because it truly was amazing in the beginning. But the longer I have had it, the worse it has gotten. If you are considering buying one, be careful. It works great for a couple of months and then turns into a headache.

Aguardo retorno urgente.
