WD Red Pro 6TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 7200 RPM Class, SATA 6 Gb/s, CMR, 256MB Cache, 5 Year Warranty

I purchased the 6TB WD Red Pro drive "dispatched and sold by Amazon", and had no issue registering it with Western Digital for their full 5 year warranty. For me the extra two years warranty over the standartd WD Red drives is worth the little extra you have to pay for the pro version. Plugged this straight into a free slot in my existing Synology NAS and had it added into the BTRFS storage volume in no time at all.

I bought several of these for my Drobo NAS a couple of months ago and they were very easy to install. They are quiet in operation and I am very happy with the transfer rates. They are quiter than my previous 5400rpm disks. I hope they last me several years to come.

Purchased to store 4k rips in a Zidoo Player. It does the job but the noise is audible. I have had to put the Zidoo Player on some sound absorbing stilts to lessen the noise. I have the player inside a TV cabinet/shelf that is roughly 10 feet from where I sit to watch TV or movies. The noise isn't unbearable but I can definitely hear it when no sound is coming from the TV. The noise is at a level that will sit underneath the TV volume once you have it on. Once a film is on and you have it at a decent volume you'll only really hear the disc drive noise at a very low background noise type level. For me it is certainly passable but if you are looking for a near silent drive then this is not it.

Both items arrived 2 days late and dead. One was vibrating like crazy and the other clicking continuously. The drives where packed in one box with a small foam block between them. I suspect they just kept hitting each other in transit.

Using for data storage and the extra space is great. Speed is good and installation into the desktop very easy. I've used WD drives for years and I've never had any problem with them. After four weeks use I've no significant complaints. It can be a little bit loud at times, but overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought 2 of these to replace a set of old 750G Samsung disks that had been running nearly non-stop for 12 years. They still ran 'kinda' OK but sometimes they started to get kicked from my RAID config... so it was time to change. So far so good. The sound is a little less than the Samsungs but you can still hear them, nothing bothersome though. Speed-wise, 1 disk is about as fast as 3 of those Samsungs in raid-0. They're doing their job and here's me hoping these drives will last me at least a decade too. Only time will tell ... I also bought 2 SSD's around the same time, I'm curious which will give up first but I'm sure they won't make these disks anymore when they do kick the bucket. :) I'm not doing anything too fancy on them, they're just meant to keep data. All software that needs speed is running on SSD but I'm happy with the speed of the data. You can probably get faster disks but you'll pay for it too and if it's not necessary it's just a waste. These seemed like a very good compromise (for my personal use).

Recu et testé fonctionnel. Aucun soucis depuis 3 mois...

Perfecto para un Nas en Raid. Reconocido a la primera. Preguntad al vendedor antes de comprarlo. Yo he tenido que devolver uno que llegó sin protección y no inicializaba. Este venía bien protegido.
