I have asthma and am very sensitive to smells- including some scented laundry soaps- does this have a strong odor?

I did vacuum the couch ad chairs with a regular vacuum and it did not have any problems even close to clogging. In fact, I doubt that it picked up more then 10% of the powder I used. It basically picked up loose powder that was not absorbed into the material. Not much ..

Directions say leave on carpet for either 15 or 30 mins. Is there any damage to the carpet if left on longer like all day before vacuuming?

Its just a powder, I've left it on the black carpet in my vehicle for over a week and a few days on the white multi carpet in the house - as long as you are thorough in vacuuming you will be fine. I haven't seen any damage to my belongings or where applied.

Has anyone used this to remove old cigarette smoke odor?

Yes.. I had two recliners that were left in my cottage I bought but the Lady of the cottage before was a heavy smoker.. I rubbed in good to the recliners and vacuumed after ss they tel you and it worked great..My daughter in law always complained that they smelled and now she is happy.
