How easy is it to add/remove wires? Is this something I could do easily daily?

Very easy - the flaps just flip up and you lay in or take out what you want. I used this to protect the power cord and water hose running across our driveway to the lawn for an inflatable water slide. Every night I would remove the blower from the lawn and the power cord from this and put it next to the house so the sprinklers didn’t get it wet and then put it back in the morning to inflate the water slide. Hope this helps.

What is the best chemical to wash them with ?

I haven’t washed mine but I think dish soap would cut grease and not hurt the rubber or plastic. I’ve had mine out doors year round and have not needed to wash them.
