Heat & Humidity Gel - Stronger Hold

This hair gel from Ouidad has been a game changer for my hair. I decided to embrace my natural curls about a year ago and I have gone through a huge amount of haircare products trying to find the ones that work right for me. A lot of the products that I found work perfectly for my hair are made by Ouidad. If you're looking for a brand that really understands curly hair then Ouidad is the brand for you. This hair gel is the first one that has checked all the boxes for me. It delivers on the promise of protecting your hair from humidity. I live in Florida and the humidity used to be a hairstyle destroyer for me until I found this gel and the shampoo from the same line. My hair doesn't frizz up everytime I walk outside anymore. This product has excellent hold without leaving my hair super stiff and crunchy. It leaves my hair defined and my curls bouncy. My hair looks healthy and shiny when I use this product. I don't know if this product is scented but I don't detect any fragrance when I use it which I prefer. I wash my hair every three days so it's important to me that hair products don't leave my hair feeling gross and in need of a wash after one day. With this gel I'm able to go three days in between washes and my hair never feels dirty. My curls also hold up really well for those three days. I just use a small amount of curl refresher spray on days two and three and my hair looks as good as it did on day one. I always order the largest size of this product and I feel like it's a really good value for the price. The large bottle is fairly priced and it lasts me months. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a gel that protects against humidity, has excellent hold and that keeps your curls looking awesome until your next wash day!

A go to product for my curly hair. I have 3c curls and I like to use this product in conduction with a sea salt spray or a hair spray as it provides the texture my hair needs. This product provides wonderful slip for my curls and moistures them and controls frizz. If I use to much to get the gel cast, my curls can be limper so I do need to use a curl cream and other products I mentioned above and just had to figure out what worked for my hair. If I apply too much my hair is very moisturized and will tend to fall out quicker. I love that it has heat protection. I also only wash my hair weekly and I find I rarely need to refresh my curls!! But I think I am either lucky or figured out a system that works best for my hair. I leave the crunch in overnight (wash hair and dry in the evening). Wear a silk bonnet to bed and in the morning my curls with a little scrunch and fluff are just glorious! Day two hair is even more fabulous. After that it sort of maintains but does depend on what I do. I might need a little refresh in the front. A quality product that lasts for a real long time. It is definitely a keeper!

The first picture is my hair right out of the shower with the product in. The second picture is after it’s fully dried. I have tried a lot of curly hair care and this is one I reach for the most! I have thick, loose curls on top and tighter curls underneath for reference. My hair is also very soft, but tends to be frizzy. I like this one a lot because I can run it through my hair and a let it airy dry and it’ll look great! I do have to coat each of my curls individually or else I’ll get a very dry & frizzy section. It also works best if you use this on very wet hair. Like still dripping from the shower. The product itself is sort of a looser gel and slightly sticky in texture. It doesn’t have much of a scent, which is nice! It does lock in moisture and it’s not very heavy on my hair, which I LOVE. I can hardly tell I have product in when I use this. I only took away one star because I do have to use a lot of this stuff to get the results I want. However, I have had it for about a year and I haven’t run out yet, so that makes it worth repurchasing for me. It’s a great value for your money! I will say too, the results are the same whether I air dry my hair or defuse it.

This gel is really good for curly and wavy hair, it is lightweight as you can see in the picture and the amount that is on my hand is what I used for half of my hair and then I reapplied. The fragrance is not overpowering and it’s gives a very clean smell, also very effective to do definition. Drying time is about an hour, since I dry on air but it’s worth it, it has consistency over time as you can see this is one day after I used it and my curls look good. Just started trying this brand I like it I combine it with the definition cream.

My absolute favorite gel for my curly hair. It's not sticky and holds my curls very well and makes them defined.will be buying the larger one next time.

I'm 8 months in on my curly-girl journey and have tried every gel under the sun. After learning about the importance of polyquaternium as a casting ingredient (yes, science!), I started researching the dozens of gels and foams I've bought and used. Some contain 1 polyquat, but this Ouidad gel has 4!!! And that's why it works so well. Day 1 is great, but so are days 2 and 3. Even days 4 and 5 are good with a bit of refresh. I'm never gonna order another gel, because the Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat & Humidity Stronger Hold Gel is PERFECT! (My new local hair stylist used on me it after she cut new layers into my long 3B curly hair, but she used WAY too much, saying a lot on day 1 means you won't have to use more to refresh on subsequent days. WRONG! As with any product, use only as much as you need on day 1 and NO MORE! It reactivates well with a bit of water if a refresh is necessary.)

ILOVE how this product highlights my curls and controls frizz. I REALLY intensely dislike the chemical smell. It’s awful.

Way too pricey for the amount. Nothing special about it. I live in a very humid climate and this isn't even in my top 5 of gels I've used on my curly hair.

the hold this gel gives is perfect, not too strong not too little its a perfect spot that you can have hold with definition but not to the point of it being super crunchy

This is the best gel I’ve used! Ive been searching for the perfect gel for years!! This is a light weight non sticky gel. Curls lasted 5-6 days without a refresh! 100% recommend and will be purchasing again!
