Now that Opinel knives lock in the closed position I can recommend them. The fillet knife is both beautiful and very functional,sharpens to a razor edge with minimal effort.

That is one nice knife. Highly flexible blade, thin, light, feels much more compact than the regular, more utilitarian No 12. I like the brushing on the Effile No 15 a bit more, but this one is quite impressive at the price point. Order with Danish oil to protect the handle and make sure (unlike me) not to have Danish oil seep onto the blade... It sticks. Apart from that: the usual Opinel care instructions are still valid: wet blade to be wiped dry before being folded in, avoid water on the parts of the handle that are not oil-treated. If the wood swells, a few hours in the baking oven at 60C or so will dry the wood out again.
