Vivid Imaginations Star Trek USS Enterprise Iconic Vehicle Model

After seeing the movie, I had to have the ship. It's very good and the detail is superb. You can adjust the angle of the ship on the stand - the best so far produced. The lights and sounds are spot on, exactly like those in the movie. My only gripe is the phaser fire isn't on longer. To hear Kirk say 'hit them with everything we've got - and just two rounds go off...' But apart from that - the best buy for my Star Trek collection!

The most beautiful Enterprise was the redesign for the old movies, but this is a great version too. As a toy it works very well and the ball-socket stand is by far the best produced so far: it really is posable! I'm suspicious that the nacelles are not set correctly - their horizontal centre-lines are at odds with the saucer's - but that's for nit-pickers like me (and it may be that the 'actual' ship is like that too, though I can't believe it).

Very good detail, comes with amazing light and sound effects, great for playing with or display. Need to get a matching war bird!

WHEN YOU OPEN THE BOX TO SEE THIS MODEL IT LOOKS AMAZING. SOME GOOD DETAIL ON IT, AND LOOKS GREAT FROM ANY ANGLE. BUT I WAS DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SOUND EFFECTS, JUST NOT WHAT I WOULD EXPECT. THEY SOUND A BIT CHEAP. IF THE TOY IS DROPPED IT COULD EASILY BREAK AND YOU WOULD HAVE AN UNHAPPY CHILD TO CONTEND WITH. THIS IS BEST USED AS AN DISPLAY ITEM ON A SHELF.

When I saw the new movie I was loving the re-make of the original USS Enterprise. I'm a huge fan of the Star Trek franchise but not a huge collector, but I new that I had to have a modal of the re-make Enterprise. I was A little disapointed in its size as I thought it was going to be bigger! but after a while the size grew on me. The attetion to detail is very good, the stand is excellent, and the sounds it makes I was very impressed with. All in all I very satisfying collection peace.

This is a great little toy for your kids but really it will be the dads running round making phaser sounds. Good value and great quality.

At this price I wasn't expecting much and perhaps unsurprisingly I got what I expected. A reasonably accurate look is let down by cheap plastic and a poor finish. The idiotic design of the battery compartments mean the positive terminals on mine only worked after jamming a strip of baking foil in the gaps. The lights shine through the thin casing when the button is pressed somewhat spoiling the light up effect. The engine lights also deliberately flicker with sounds which is not very authentic. On the plus side, the sounds are loud and clear and the lights are nice and bright. The model is a decent size (37.5cm long) and the stand allows you to pose the Enterprise at almost any angle. To Sum Up: This is a Toy, not an "Iconic Vehicle Model". Good for 6 year old nephews, bad for a Star Trek fan's mantlepiece.

Since I was just a kid, watching Star Trek late at night with my dad, I've loved all things Trek. Like most true Trek fans, I was both wary and excited for the franchise reboot. ( Star Trek (Single-Disc Edition) ) But it turned out to be more than any of us could have hoped for. By the evening of the same day I saw the movie, I was scouring Amazon for... I guess anything really. At that time, this was at the top of the search list, and a bargain at $40. It was a price I was happy to pay, as it looked AMAZING. And so it was. It has a few minor flaws. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is certainly more toy quality than action figure or replice or model. But for a toy, it's a DARN good one, and very detailed. My only actual complaint was that the nacelles are closer together than they should be. Go on, check, you'll see. LOL But otherwise, it's a splendid toy, for kids of any age. (Including this old collector. LOL) It is durable enough to survive the typical way kids will zoom this around, though the paint might get scratched if they crash it into too many things. But hey, that's what it's for! LOL The batteries are a tad complex to install, but there are detailed instructios for where to install BOTH sets of batteries. And the sound effects and light up effects are first rate! I was just thrilled with the Red Alert klaxon, and the voices. So all in all, this is a GREAT toy for Trek fans, or for parents wanting to turn their kids into Trek fans. This wil do the trick. LOL Give it a try. It's priced perfectly now, at a mere $15, and it's a decent size for the price. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you are at all a fan of the new Trek.
