Product description How to Replace the Dishwasher Filter Cup Turn Off the Dishwasher: Before you begin, ensure the dishwasher is turned off and unplugged for safety. Locate the Filter Cup: Open the dishwasher door and remove the bottom rack to access the filter. The filter cup is usually located at the bottom of the dishwasher, near the spray arm. Remove the Old Filter: Turn the filter cup counterclockwise to unlock it. Gently lift it out of the dishwasher. If there are any food particles or debris around the filter area, wipe them away with a damp cloth. Clean the Filter (Optional): If you're reusing the filter, rinse it under warm water and scrub gently with a soft brush to remove any stuck-on debris. Ensure the filter is completely clean before reinserting. Install the New Filter: Align the new filter cup with the filter compartment. Insert it into place and turn it clockwise to lock it securely. Make sure it is firmly seated to prevent leaks or malfunction. Reassemble the Dishwasher: Once the new filter is in place, return the bottom rack to its position. Ensure everything is back in order before closing the dishwasher door. Test the Dishwasher: Plug the dishwasher back in and run a short cycle to ensure the new filter is functioning properly and that there are no issues with the water drainage. Fits and works
Also fits our Bosch model SHY dishwasher. Called Bosch in search for a replacement, they were less than helpful and wanted over $100 plus shipping! Insane! Got this one for less than a fourth of that. Instructional video on how to replace was easy and straight forward. Thanks!

Fits and Filters Like It Should – Just Not The Same as OEM
Overall Impressions/Comments: At first glance, the IRIVER replacement filter appeared to be identical in size and construction to the original filters. It comes as a two-part unit: a fine mesh outer filter and a stainless steel coarse filter cylinder that screws into the dishwasher. What’s surprising is that the IRIVER filter was shipped in a paper mailer envelope instead of a cardboard box. The outer micro filter is made of a fine mesh arrived in a ziploc plastic bag with some small creases in it. This isn’t ideal as this part needs to form a good seal with the perforated drain cover. Although Bosch recommends cleaning the dishwasher filter every 2 to 3 months (a well maintained filter is expected to last a lifetime), we fell behind. Greasy debris deposits built up inside the coarse stainless steel filter, right under top the turning knob – a tough spot to clean thoroughly. That prompted us to look for a replacement filter. Fit & Compatibility: While this IRIVER filter did not list compatibility with our Bosch SHX55M05UC model, it fit perfectly. Side-by-Side Observations (see photos): • Micro Filter: Appears finer and thinner than the OEM version, and not as rigid. • Coarse Filter: Has smaller, round holes spaced further apart compared to the original. This should catch smaller food particles — a good thing, but it may clog more quickly if dishes aren’t rinsed well beforehand. • Size: Identical to the original filter. Pros: • Fits and functions like the original. • Much more affordable – only $18 at the time of this review versus $60-$90 + shipping for the OEM part. Cons: • Thinner micro mesh may impact long-term durability. • Smaller pores in the coarse filter could lead to more frequent cleaning. Testing: We tested it on a full load using the high-temperature setting. The IRIVER dishwasher filter trapped debris as expected. That said, due to the noticeable material differences, we plan to continue using the original fine mesh filter alongside the new coarse filter after a thorough cleaning with a concentrated degreaser. Summary: The IRIVER replacement filter is a functional, budget-friendly alternative to the OEM part. It fits well and effectively filters debris, but the finer, thinner mesh and smaller coarse filter holes suggest it may require more frequent cleaning. Durability also remains to be seen over the long run. For now, we’re opting to keep the original fine mesh filter and pair it with the new coarse filter. It’s not perfect, but it works — and at a fraction of the OEM price, it’s worth considering if you’re comfortable with a few trade-offs.
