Bought this grinder to grind down our front steps that had risen over winter. Also bought diamond cup grinding wheels. I already had an Avid Power oscillating multi-tool and liked it so got this Avid over other competition.The side handle is great, as is the protective wheel. The switching system is great - hold the trigger to run with trigger pull, or pull the trigger and push the always-on button to free up that index finger for longer jobs.But the best feature was the variable speed which most basic models didn't have. I set the speed to lower values while I figured out this new to me tool, and the mechanics of grinding down those flagstones.Happy to report I made a lot of progress. Over spring might also tackle the one curbstone that's markedly higher than its neighbor, causing a trip hazard.Last note, the 4 1/2" size is best for smaller home-owner DIY jobs over the 7" size. Keeps everything under control.

A great value. I love the variable speed feature. I use primarily for light concrete grinding and it works great. Very balanced. Be sure to clean motor often with air to prevent premature wear of the brushes.

This was a great little workhorse of a grinder. I paired it with a Diamabrush to get Behr Deckover off a 2-story deck with stairs, and it worked great until the very end, when I couldn't get the locking lever that lets you operate it without depressing the trigger to unlock, so I had to unplug it. That is a hazardous situation. In fact, while I was using it earlier in 'locked' mode, it came unplugged. I wasn't thinking, and just went to plug it back in, and the grinder ran all over the deck. You HAVE to make sure the latching trigger gets released before plugging it in! Aside from this safety and reliability issue, I was able to complete a long, difficult, and horrible job of grinding every square inch of the deck, often running it for 6 or more hours per day.

Product performs as expected--cuts metal cleanly and smoothes rough edges left by other tools-- for a good price. I have a larger angle grinder that's a little more cumbersome, and this product is sufficient and useful for most jobs requiring an angle grinder.

Very solid build.. the tool feel substantial and powerful when holding. It got 7 speeds - can be adjusted for cutting and polishing, etc..

Unboxed the item everything looked good. Started using the grinder to polish diamond plate. Everything was operating correctly, noticed some plastic odor coming from the grinder. At first just smelled like a new tool being operated for the first time. Shortly after tool was smoking and stopped functioning. Was only able to polish a 6"x 12" section of diamond plate.Save your money and purchase the high end name brand.

This is a handy little grinder and works extremely well

I have five 4 1/2" angle grinders: HF, Bosh & Makida for mostly metal work. This one is the favorite. The variable speed runs linear speed min to max and is powerful. Quality per cost excellent.

A good tool at a great price. Heavy and substantial, works well, I esp like the multiple speeds. I don’t understand why anyone would buy a single speed. I use this for dough g out and carving using shaping burr heads and Roy d chainsaw blades which should NOT be run on single speed like 22,000 rpm. This fixes that safety concern.
