This thing competes with my children for my love
Ok maybe I'm exaggerating. But this is my favorite kitchen appliance. It's powerful, it's well-built, it's easy to use and easy to clean. I can't think of a single negative, but be aware that if storage space in your kitchen is at a premium, this one is gonna take up a quite a bit of it. There are two containers for the blades and dicing systems, they're pretty big. At the same time, the storage system for this ensure your blades will stay sharp and in tact for a long time. Speaking of sharpness, handle this thing with care because these blades are razor sharp. I could slice a tomato in micrometers with these blades. The dicing kit, I can't say enough about how much this thing has improved my kitchen experience. I've saved a day's worth of time just in making salsa. You will have to use the tool they provide to clear out the dicer, but that's nothing difficult. Cleaning a food processor is always a chore, but this has only one part that can't go into the dishwasher (the dicer's drive mount), and that piece is easy to clean. There are no hidden crevices or difficult to reach areas, a quick soapy rinse is usually enough to keep it clean. Using it is idiot-proof. There are three buttons: Power, Pulse, and Continuous-on. Turn it on, pick pulse or continuous, it'll take of the rest. There are no speed options, but interestingly enough this self self-adjusts speed for the blade you're using. The dicing kit, for example, will spin much slower than the chopper. The dough blade is actually useful for more than just pie crust. This thing handles any kind of dough that can be handled by a food processor. The power behind it makes sure of that. My old Kitchenaid processor was useless in this regard, it could handle pie crust and that was about it. This thing is heavy, indeed. You're going to want to find counter space for it to live, I can't imagine taking it in and out all the time. But it's an attractive appliance that looks great on the counter. That weight is a solid indication of how solidly built the machine is. The chopping blades have stayed as sharp as day one for the months I've used it. I've fed this thing some pretty tough material and it's made quick work of it. The plastic parts are all thick, durable plastic. The bowl itself has been able to withstand a couple of accidental drops without any breaks, cracks or chips. This is another issue I had with my KitchenAid, the pushers would fling chunks of plastic across the floor if they were dropped from more than 14 inches off the ground. This is an expensive, professional-grade appliance designed for the discerning home chef. Your wallet will not thank you, but if you can keep that thing from complaining too loudly, your culinary life will be eternally grateful.

A luxury item that I am still luxuriating in almost a year later. Great purchase.
I waited almost a year before reviewing the Paradice 16. Prior to this, I had a trusty, basic Cuisinart 14 for about 16 years, and prior to that, I had a smaller Kitchenaid dual bowl. My Cuisinart finally had a part break, and the old Kitchenaid was just too small once we had kids. Basically, I'm not new to food processors, but my prior models were limited to a basic slice, basic grate, or basic puree. I really debated about whether or not I would use all of the attachments on the Paradice, having gone for so many years with just the very basics. I find that I do use them! I'm so glad that I was able to splurge to afford the Paradice with all the attachments! I use the adjustable slicer, dicing, grating, and puree multiple times per week, and I can get so much food prep done in so little time. I do not really use the french fry cutter, or the smaller bowl very often. The dough mixer is fine, but I often just use the blade for dough, I guess out of habit. I recently specially ordered the Paradice potato peeler from Breville (it took a long time for Breville to notify me that it was in stock, and this does NOT come with the Paradice), but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. As to the size, I have found that with more than two people to cook for, I really need the large size. The 9 cup version just wouldn't be big enough for our family. This is an expensive item, but it does save a lot of time and produces an evenly chopped or sliced result. My family especially enjoys fruit salads and cucumber tomato salads made with the Paradice because of the even texture. So yeah, it's expensive, but we eat at home much more often, and we eat more fruits and vegetables. It's an investment in health, to me. The Paradice 16 has handled almost everything I've thrown at it, but it does have a few flaws. I do not ever use it to dice onions because that just ends up as a mess. I have found that certain things dice better in some sizes rather than others. Other than that, I LOVE the dicing feature. The dicing feature is far better than the Kitchenaid mixer dicing attachment that I had. The overall performance of the Paradice on every setting is generally trouble-free, but it does have its limits. I tried grinding frozen turmeric root (dried) in it, and it couldn't handle it, and ended up scuffing my bowl. :( To be fair, my Vitamix grain bowl also couldn't do frozen turmeric root, and also had a hard time with thawed turmeric root (dried). I think this was an extreme test. My spice grinder was absolutely hopeless at grinding the turmeric root. My Vitamix bowl was not scuffed by the turmeric root, while the Paradice bowl was, which I thought I would mention-but again, I think that this was an extreme test. The Paradice bowl does look better than my Cuisinart bowl looked after a year (still looked brand new before I tried to grind frozen, dried turmeric root), so I think it is overall durable. But...it does have its limits. The dicing features are easy to clean if you use the cleaning tools Breville provides, spray with a sink sprayer (my sink will either do a regular faucet flow or a spray), and use a small tool for a few of the tougher bits (I use a bundt pan brush). I know people say that they could chop or slice in the same time it takes to get out the food processor and clean it, but for me that's very far from true due to the amount of food I'm prepping. I usually batch prep all the slicing/chopping/grating for the week, and I don't really wash the machine in between foods. I just give it a quick rinse. Then at the end, it all goes into the dishwasher, which is amazing. The only thing that (I think) can't go into the dishwasher is the dicing spindle. Being dishwasher safe is really important to me because I sometimes make stuff with raw meat in the food processor, and I just feel like it's not really CLEAN unless it's been run through the dishwasher. Before I bought the Paradice 16, I read a negative review that said that it couldn't dice because the food just got stuck in the machine. Look...if you are trying to dice a quarter of a cucumber, half the food is going to get stuck in there. But why would you use a food processor to dice a quarter of a cucumber? Realistically, people using this machine are going to shove at LEAST an entire cucumber into this machine, and we're ok with part of the cucumber basically being wasted. And after the cucumber? We're putting tomatoes in there. And after that? Maybe rinsing, drying, and grating a block of cheese. There IS a bit of food wastage with this, but it's an acceptable amount to me. I would very, very rarely fire this machine up and only process one food item. The size is very large. The base plus large cup and lid can't fit under my kitchen counter. This baby takes up a lot of kitchen real estate. The base is heavy. It's not too heavy for me, but it might be too heavy for you. I keep the base on my kitchen counter, and the accessories and bowl on one shelf in a large lower cupboard. Overall, my main uses are: Very nicely textured fruit salads Very nicely textured cucumber and tomato salads Scones/Biscuits (they come out so well in barely any time, just don't overmix) Pizza dough Slicing, dicing vegetables ahead of time for meal prep (I use the adjustable feature on the slicing disc so often!) Mix/puree meat, like mixing meatloaf/meatballs quickly (I just hate touching raw meat, so this helps with the worst part of that) Grating cheddar cheese, jack cheese, parmigiana cheese, asiago cheese (blocks of cheese are usually half the price in my area compared to pre-shredded cheese...I may have saved the purchase price of this machine in a year due to cheese-related savings alone) Pureeing quick sauces, like pesto

Powerful, Impressive, and Worth the Money
I've owned this processor about a month, but wanted to wait until I could really use many aspects of it, specifically the dicing capabilities. I am very pleased and impressed with the power, solidity, and ease of this food processor. Is the dicing kit perfect? The answer is no. Dicing bell peppers, for one, is messy. Even the dicing press (to push through stuck items) doesn't work well with with softer veggies. But more solid vegetables work wonders. There will always be some remnants in the blade and dicing grid. But I would not say it's a deal-breaker. Having the ability to dice in three different sizes is wonderful. 8mm, 12mm, and 16mm dicing grids offer tremendous options, no matter what you're dicing. For shredding and adjustable slicing, this processor is a dream. It does so with so much ease and uniformity, it blows away any other processor out there. This has always been a Breville strong point with both the Sous Chef series and now the Paradice series. This processor is easy to clean. It comes with everything you need to complete any food prep task. I will say the Paradice 9 dicer has a more efficient setup and outcome, but the 16 is still worth it. This is a heavy food processor and solidly built. It's also remarkably quiet. Overall, I am very pleased with it and I don't regret the money I spent getting it. It's worth every penny, in my opinion. One thing to keep in mind, the box everything comes in is VERY heavy. About 50 lbs. Once you open it, you realize why. Yes, there are two large attachments/blades boxes. Nonetheless, the use and benefits to them more than outweigh a possible storage issue (which I did not have because I planned for them). The boxes keep everything in its place and is helpfully labeled, avoiding the possibility of misplacing them. Breville really thought about what a complete food processor needs and I completely agree. The dated-looking Cuisinart Custom 14 doesn't even remotely come close to the Paradice 16. You get what you pay for with Breville. No wasting money on an outclassed Cuisinart. There's a reason Breville food processors are so well-regarded. You will spend more than a less expensive Cuisinart, but you get everything you could ever need, unlike the Cusinart Custom 14, which has NO compatible dicing option. Spend the money and get it all. In the end, you'll be glad you did. I certainly am.

Amazon Sold Me an Incomplete Product and Knew It
I bought this on February 5th . It is now April. I went to use the peeling disc and it was not there. I have a hand disability, which is the whole reason I bought this machine. It is very hard for me to cut, dice, shred, etc. I have not needed to peel anything since I bought it. Every slot in the two containers were filled with discs and other tools that were necessary to use the food processor. There was no way for me to know that I was missing something. I assumed that the slicing disc must have somehow also worked as the peeling disc. It does not. The quality of the food processor is amazing and the speed at which it works is also amazing. However, the peeling disc was not included from what should be there, and I have a screenshot from the listing showing that it should have a peeling disc. Because it was after the 30 days, Amazon is not willing to do anything at all. I went as high as I could with customer service and they wonโt do anything. I do not expect to be able to return it and I do not expect a full refund. But I do expect them to fix this so that I have a peeling disc. Thatโs what I paid for and expect to have. They were not willing to work with me so my one star goes to mostly Amazon and some of it goes to Breville for selling something that is not what was advertised. This was a huge financial investment for me. And to not have it function like it should is more than disappointing. I donโt think Iโve ever written a review before but this makes me so upset that I want to warn others so they donโt have the same experience I did. Iโm attaching a screenshot, and you will note that it was taken on the day that I bought it and that it says that it has a peeling disk.

Everything a food processor SHOULD BE!
The Breville Paradise 16 is everything that a food processor SHOULD be. The price tag is a little steep at $699, but it is worth every penny. I've owned and used many different food processors over the years, and they all tend to do things "good enough". I've had the Paradice 16 for about a week now, and it does everything I have tried "really well"; sliced mushrooms, guacamole, caponata, tapenade, sliced onions, sliced peppers, carrots, cabbage, and shredded cheese with minimal waste compared to other food processors. The motor is really powerful and handles slicing, dicing, and chopping with ease. The dicing functionality is about what I expected, it is great for when you are doing large quantities of diced products, I was able to plow through 60 tomatoes, several onions, and jalapenos for a batch of salsa in just a few minutes, and again with minimal waste. The diced vegetables were uniform in size and shape and were cut, and not crushed at all. The adjustable slicing blade is also pretty awesome! Between the power of the machine and the sharpness of the blade, it cuts cleanly with little to no crushing or tearing, even for mushrooms which are usually pretty terrible when sliced in a food processor. One REALLY nice feature about the adjustable blade is that there is a "storage" position where the sharp edge of the blade is tucked down and away in line with the rest of the disc so it is much safer to clean and handle. The design and features of the Paradice 16 is about as perfect as you can get for a food processor. The buttons are nice, large, responsive, and easy to push. The timer display is well lit and easy to read. I love the fact that it doesn't have a spindle sticking up like Cuisinarts and many other processors do. It makes it much easier to store, and the fact that you don't have a giant hole in the middle of your bowl makes it much easier to use with liquids and larger quantities of chopped or diced foods. The fit and finish of the machine is perfect, the stainless case looks fantastic, doesn't leave fingerprints, and cleans easily. The shape of the body has nice areas at the bottom that make it easy to grip and carry, and the wieght of the machine paired with the quality of the rubber feet make it VERY stable. The cord storage is very nice, as it just pushes back into the housing, so you don't have to coil it around the base or wrap it, making it very clean and easy to store. The bowl has a very nice handle that is easy to grip, large 16 cup capacity, a nice large pour spout, and is made of a very high quality clear plastic with nice, clear measurement markings. I also LOVE the fact that the machine not only comes with a huge set of blades and disks, but it also has caddies with spots for each blade, disc, spindle, and tool. Everything is clearly marked and numbered so you know where everything goes. The caddies themselves are pretty large, but they are made of a high quality smokey-clear plastic that looks really nice. I did see another reviewer complain about the lack of the peeling disk that was previously included in the Sous Chef 16 Peel and Dice it. The Paradice 16 does indeed have a peeling disk available and listed on their website, but it is not available to purchase. I called customer service and they sent me the peeling disc for free. My guess is that it was not a disc that was commonly used, so they opted to make it an optional accessory. Overall the Paradice 16 is a well thought out and very high quality food processor and definitely a great tool to have in the arsenal of the serious cook. The blades are sharp, there are lots of included blades and discs, the motor is powerful and quiet (compared to other food processors I have owned), and the fit and finish is fantastic. I definitley struggled with the price point since most good food processors run hundreds less, but given the quality of the machine, how well it is thought out, and all of the things that you can ACTUALLY DO with it (i.e. do without having to compromise on quality of the end product) I will say the Paradice 16 is 100% worth the price.

The storage caddies are much larger than the advertised photos.
So this review is really more for the disingenuous photos of the storage caddies than the food processor. I was debating between this 16 cup and the 9 cup Paradise, and reviews did mention that the storage caddies might pose an issue for those with smaller kitchens. Well I've got decent kitchen space, but the true size of them is INSANE! They give dimensions for the size of the food processor, and then show the stacked caddies as smaller than the machine, which is NOT true. The dimensions of each caddy are approximately 8.5" tall, 10.5" wide, and 12.5" deep. The caddies take up more space than the food processor itself, and together are nearly the size of my whole torso! They certainly won't fit tucked behind the machine like I'd anticipated. I tried out the food processor, and it diced potatoes very well, celery decently, and onions and baby carrots were diced so-so (though to be fair, the slicing blade would likely have been the better tool). I like the food processor, but if I'm to use it frequently, the caddies can't be stored away in some deep corner. I'm both pissed at the deceptive photos, and won't sacrifice the prime kitchen real estate that the caddies would require, and so will be returning it.

Great kitchen tool. Has permanent spot in my kitchen.
I have been using this machine for a few months to meal prep. And I would say I love it and I should have bought it sooner. Meal prep is a breeze and we eat salads a lot more. It took me a minute to figure out all the blades but I mainly use the adjustable slicing blade to slice cabbages, cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. I used the small grater for carrots to add to salads. I used the dicers for salsa, don't even try using onions with the dicer, just use the S blade to chop the onions otherwise it would take way too long to get onions out of those holes. S blade chops onions and mushrooms quite finely and quickly. I bought mine on sale for 550 and its a good investment. It saved so much time and energy in the kitchen. I'm a mom of 4 young kids, homeschooling, working 2 days outside of the home, and able to make home-cooked meals to feed everyone thanks to this machine and other things I set up in my kitchen. I woukd say I don't think you really need the dicing kit unless you really want things uniformly dices. Its kinda a hassel to clean them. I've used the French fry cutter too and liked it for cutting daikon radish for soups, and chayote for stir fry. It does take a lot of space in the kitchen.

Huge upgrade over our old Cuisinart
We've had a Cuisinart food processor for something over 20 years. It worked, that's the best I could say about it. This Breville is the food processor that the Cuisinart hopes it becomes when it grows up. This thing is a beast - it's super powerful, but also beautifully designed. All the parts fit right, the bowls are a heavy, clear plastic (polycarbonate?) and the adjustable slicing blade replaces a rack full of blades for the Cuisinart. I like the smaller bowl, I actually use that the most. I used to have a little Kitchen-Aid mini-chopper, which was convenient, but they seemed to last about a year. This Breville has the power and substance to last a long time (I hope). The storage boxes for the accessories are great, though they do take up quite a lot of room. They do eliminate the need to re-wash each tool you use because they're dirty from sitting on a shelf. I haven't tried the dicing function yet, I hope it works as well as the rest of the machine.

Impressive quality
Amazing machine. Itโs so multi purposeful , easy to clean and it allows me to prepare things that have been sidelined. You do need space. It had 2 disc/ blade storage containers AND the machine itself, so you need counter and storage space.

No potato Peeler in the box
This unit did not come with the potato Peeler I was told that it did by many sources. that's the Only reason I purchased this as I have 400lbs of small potato's to peel and freezedry the potato's. We have too warm of weather still so the potato's are softening and won't last the winter. it was a weekend when I wrote this review and now have talked to customer service they informed me that this does not come with the potato peeler attachment but it is available under the name "potato peeler no logo" Breville Customer service was great to deal with. So I received the potato Peeler disc attachment, ( I work in camp a lot so away from home for long periods) today I finally had time to peel spuds only to find that my $1000. Breville Paradice 16 doesn't have the correct spindle for the potato Peeler after the phonecalls I made about the potato Peeler not in the kit you would think that they would tell me everything that I need to get for this thing to peel potato's? I am not happy at all. It would have been less hassle to have just bought an industrial potato Peeler for a few dollars more. NOT HAPPY

Very bad at dicing just makes a mess
Overall it's a nice food processor however the dicing setup is terrible and almost not usable. So much food gets stuck in between the spinning disk and the dice die. Juices also come up needing a complete take apart and cleaning constantly. The dicing feature was the reason why I got it.
