Small pellets
My goldfish love this food. However, it has really small pellets. I would buy again for small goldfish.

Fish died- careful with diet change
(8/24/24)Not sure what I did wrong, my 2 year old telescope died but, I wanted to give the product the benefit of the doubt, because my little guy loved the food and I felt maybe it was something else since he was already struggling with swimmers bladder. But, two other fish from a different tank also died. The last one, literally refused to eat at all and became lethargic. All I’m saying is be careful , maybe introduce it gradually and keep an eye on your little fellas. I think perhaps the diet change affected them . Check water parameters as well to not any changes after feeding time. I was literally feeding them 3-4 small grains each so as to not over feed about 2 x daily. You get a sizeable amount for the price . So, that’s good. Be sure to check the pellet size before you buy . The small ones are really small. About the size of Betta fish pellets. UPDATE (11/23/2025) Well, because I had invested a bit on the food and had a whole container full, I kept using it and monitored water parameters. What I’ve found was that it doesn’t miraculously cure fish that already have swim bladder disease. Secondly, you should ALWAYS soften pellets up in tank water before giving it to them. Third, it does screw up water parameters if fed everyday and consistently or over fed. Which is probably what happened to me, I had suddenly changed their diet, and fed daily multiple times. This increased ammonia and completely crashed my tank, when I attempted to do water changes to save the rest of the fish, I did a huge water change and lost more due to shock. With time I figured perhaps my tank wasn’t not as well established and cycled as I had thought. Have learned to use bacteria for cycling and that a varied diet is important. Iv’e learned to incorporate veggies and other forms of fiber. If your tank is not well cycled or its struggling to maintain water parameters you do run serious risks. Brown algae ( diatoms ) do form more frequently with this food especially if it’s not consumed. But, that has been a plus for me since it provides nutrition for my otos, snails , etc., since they are small pellets they have become great food for bettas. Just make sure you feed small amounts ( exactly what will be eaten, about size of their eyes) . For bettas it’s about 1-3 pellets. When I’m done with this batch I think I will try a small container of the Thera-A or I might try Ken’s fish version to save some money. Idk..

This product saved my 4.5 goldfish suffering from swim bladder
I have been feeding my smaller goldfish Rapashy Gold and it has been GREAT for my 2-inch gold fish. I began to feed it to my new jumbo (5", 4.5" and 3.5") gold fish and two started having swim bladder problems, one right away the other after more than a week on Rapashy Gold. I tried 3 days without food (repeatedly), skinned peas (the 2 sick one's primary food with little or no Rapashy). In desperation I searched for another food and liked what I read about New Life Spectrum Goldfish Daily Diet. At the time of the food change over, one ailing fish ate a little of the New Life pellets but it was not in time, he died from having lived life upside-down for a little too long. The other ailing one quickly became well and normal eating the New Life Spectrum regular pellet daily diet. The third fish did well on Rapashy Gold, never showed a symptom of swim bladder, and is doing just as good on New Life Spectrum. I did not know about the larger pellet. My larger goldfish are doing great now and are vacuuming up the super small pellets, but I think I will purchase the larger pellets next time.

Size changed cannot return
The new "regular" pellet is the old "small" pellet. I was trying to upgrade for my no longer baby fish but now I just have 2 jars of tiny pellets and I can't get my money back. The food is good but it's expensive, hard to find, and poorly labeled. If you're going to change pellet sizes at least put the mm on the packaging.

Good quality food
Fed this to my goldfish for years when they sold it at Petco. They loved it, I felt good giving it to them because it was high quality, and I could tell it made them feel good. I did usually pre-soak it before feeding.
