Is this excavator to easy operate for 4 yr old boy?

We bought this for my son 4th birthday and he was ecstatic! I wouldn't say I bought it because I wanted to play it myself.

What is 680 degree rotation?

I'm not sure what 680 rotation means exactly. But my 10 year old grandson loves the excavator. My grandson says it's over 300 degrees in each direction. It gives a little clicking sound as a reminder to rotate back. He absolutely loves it.

I wanted to buy it for a friend's child, but he didn't like it

Can you dig hard ground or non digged soft ground with this?

It is just a toy. I don't think there is a problem with sand getting inside
