A Quiet Place (DVD) [2018]

An amazing film, which surprises and grips from the outset. Never have I seen, or heard, a movie which uses sound so effectively, especially when there is minimal dialogue. The central premise, aliens you don't really see, who hunt by sound, have wiped out most of mankind. Our family of four are barely surviving in the backwoods, moving from place to place in search of food and shelter, using sign language to communicate, trying to evade the evil alien creatures. It's unbelievably tense, and exciting, and clever. A sequel has already been agreed. Do not miss this scary movie.

I was surprised at how much i loved this film. It has a great and easily understood high concept. (If you make noise you are dead) and is really effective at getting across all the difficulties and issues that this would actually cause in real life. I found it to be highly highly suspenceful, and in many ways it was a physical workout watching it as the stress mad eme tense up. I highly recommend this film to everyone as it is exciting, tense and emotional. It has really stayed with me since watching it.

This is a gem of a film on a small budget, no grandeur about it, just a good story. Be prepared for lots of unexpected surprises. Very well written and well acted. I watched this on recommendation and I'm pleased I did. I shall watch the sequel too in due course. Recommended.

I wanted to like this film, I really did, and for the first hour or so I was hooked...on the edge of my seat. And then something happened which jerked me out of the film and left me asking myself "What...how did that happen...when did that...who moved that...?" And from then on the film had lost my focus, and I kept questioning everything, especially at one point towards the end...a big scene, the focus almost of the whole film, when I thought "why didn't he just do that", that being an obvious alternative to what he did do. (I'm really trying my hardest not to put spoilers in here.) It was, however, brilliantly acted by all four main characters, and they really really tortured the audience with that nail. It also, in Emily Blunt's character, introduced a Sarah Connor for today's film goer...brave, resourceful and determined. So, there were things which where outstanding about this film, but they were let down by plot gaps and stupid actions by otherwise very clever characters. So, I did like this film, just not as much as I could have done.

I loved this film, though I hyperventilated a bit through most of it. It is not a horror film as such, but it is very tense most of the way through and there is some violence and tough to watch scenes. Tugs all the emotions, shock, fright, sadness, horror. The acting is superb, it deserves all the accolades it has received.

Good film worth watching it wasn't pushing any political correctness or woke in ya face....just good ol end of the world stuff in which people have to adapt. In a world where human beings have to finda way to survive to live with earths infested with aliens who react to noise, a little like "The Silence" with Stanley Tucci. You will no doubt say "don't do that" or "why they doing that" or dumb the person who contanatly making sounds.

I am not usually drawn to film under the horror genre, but Emily Blunt is one of my favourite female actors, so I added this film to my collection and cant wait to see the next film as the cliff-hanger has left me wanting more. Great film ,Great acting and Fantastic directing.

The film's premise of silence is done successfully and the story is well put together. The alien creatures are well presented, the acting is good but overall the film is a little dull. Ultimately I didn't really care about the characters. Worth a watch but not quite the film critics led me to expect.

I tried ordering it for Halloween and what I found out is the seller does not tell you witch region it's for this when I tried putting. It in the dvd player to watch and it said wrong region I live in the United states of America I am deeply upset and while. I think it's a good movie I never got to see it because they don't tell you witch region it's for I strongly recommend that. You check what region it's for and if you live in the right region or not but don't let my experience dictate yours.

Couldn't play it because it was released to Ireland with different encryption?

I could not get the dvd to play.
