Nokia 2720 Fold - Sim Free Mobile Phone

I wanted a clam shell phone because the other kind have a habit of dialling without permission. I love this neat shiny little phone with clear buttons and an excellent little camera built in. My old clam died after seven years of use. I did not want a phone that went online or jumped through hoops. This one does far more than I expect of a phone and does take nice photos- surprisingly good. A friend helped me download a ring tone to make it distinctive. The nokia softwear online using bluetooth dongle was not straightforward to operate and crashed the computer- maybe that was my fault but such programmes have to be easy to operate in the settings. I reckon I just installed too much SW. The help of a friend soon corrected that, and we were off- sharing photos by bluetooth easily and my friend (techie) was impressed with the quality of the photos randomly taken on the phone. My daughter's expensive contract phone is nowhere near as useful. I am yet to try the radio out but I bet it is good. The battery seems to last well, and I am proud to carry it everywhere with me. I saw reviews that considered it to be expensive but it was half the price of some of the contract handsets without sim card lock ins. Maybe they do jump through hoops but on pay as you go, I have no wish to own such devices.

Partners review as bought for her. Liked the flip, the light weight. Keys are fine but navigational square sometimes makes phone think you are saying ok instead of navigating. Not as good as my partners old V3 Motorola for example in this area. Instruction manual could have been a lot more helpful even if this is a basic phone. Too small and not instructive enough which is its whole purpose, too generalized. For the money not a bad ladies phone overall if you don't want all the flashy extras. My partner found the navigational square too small and he hasn't got particularly large hands. Reminders under memo if you want advance notification. Does have a choice of tones if you look a little harder than i did at first. If bits ironed out it would be 4.5 to 5 stars.

The phone would not turn on there was no charger in the box I spoke to the seller he said as soon as he got the phone back he would refund £1019 pounds plus an extra £10 pounds to cover postage and the inconvenience it caused sadly that didn’t happen he just refunded the £1019 pound that I paid so he not a man of his word I will never buy from him again

I write this review having only given the phone a short tryout for the following reasons. The phone was purchased as a birthday present for my husband who wanted an easy to use flip phone to replace a much used Motorola. After considerable research I decided on the Nokia. It arrived quickly and in good order. I was surprised to find a European two pin electric plug rather than our normal 3 pin plug. However, I used an adaptor and charged up the phone. Then I saw that the words asking me to insert a SIM were in a foreign language (I thought Spanish, but may be French). Undettered I put in my SIM card only to find that there were about 10 foreign telephone numbers for heaven knows where in my address book. Everything else appeared to be in English, apart from the front screen which had the right navigation button in 'French'. The phone seemed to work correctly and generally I think I would be pleased with it. It 'locked' several times although it was easy enough to unlock, but this could be very annoying if this happens on a regular basis. I cannot comment on all the features because I did not have the phone long enough to use them. I did find it annoying that there was a tune played when the phone was switched off, but perhaps this can be sorted at some point (I did look but had not found a way to do it). Anyway, I immediately contacted Amazon to report the problems and had a reply very quickly from the supplier apologizing for the problems and saying to return the phone for replacement. I duly pressed the 'return item' button only to find that the supplier did not have a returns/refund policy with Amazon and that I should arrange the return with them direct. I was a bit wary of sending it back without the normal Amazon return slip. The supplier gave me a return address but no indication of if and how the postage would be refunded. I hoped they would replace the phone but it was going to be a hassle. This review is to warn people that if they encounter a problem with this supplier (and possibly others) it is not straightforward to return items. I duly posted the phone by special delivery. After considerable difficulty, much misunderstanding, several emails and a phone call later I have had a full refund. I actually wished I had just kept the phone, used an adaptor and deleted the foreign numbers! I am only giving this product three stars because of the adaptor, foreign language and numbers issue, but it did look very good and had everything I wanted in a phone. Pity, I now have the problem of finding an alternative.

This clamshell phone may be of an outdated design, but is just what I wanted; a small neat 'un-smart' phone, without all the complications of which I have no need. It has the benefit of the straightforward Nokia operating system, unlike its incomprehensible predecessor in my handbag, a Motorola. It arrived promptly in good condition, and has been in use for the past couple of weeks without mishap. Long may it continue.

Didn't like this phone at all and very disappointed as I normally love Nokias. The screen resolution is pitiful and text hard to read. There is no micro SD slot for extra memory and the body is very plasticy. The keyboard is nice and has a positive feel about it. However, I returned this phone and was refunded without question (one of the reasons I buy through Amazon). Eventually bought a Samsung.

not impressed by lack of instructions cannot get it to set up email ok as a phone but not worth the money cheaper phones work just as well if not better

Super great phone brand new in original package - very stylish and chic. Large buttons One very small thing which is not a seller fault although the box was in English the User Guide was not - but able to download from Nokia Phone came promptly and could not be happier
