The item itself is very high quality. It looks nice in my living room, and the instructions were easy to follow. But I got it for my cats, and it didn't keep them out for long, even with the floor loop thing installed. They just climbed right up it and went over the top.

Works great as a gate I like the locking feature so kids and pets can’t push on it and make it extend. very easy to open and close. It is used more as a visual barrier for my pets and grandkids. I can’t really say how sturdy it is because my dogs don’t really jump on it and my grandkids only push on it a little bit.

Love this gate. My mother in law has dementia and this gate was perfect for keeping her from climbing the steps. Also great addition for the dogs.

I recently adopted a stray cat I had been feeding all summer & I need to keep her away from my other cat until she's fully vaccinated. My cat that I've had for years is upstairs & my stray is downstairs & needed a way to keep them separate. I had been using cardboard boxes all taped together & got tired of moving that every time I had to go upstairs or come back down. I finally decided to try this mesh gate after researching 100s of inexpensive cat gates. It installed quite easily, we only used 2 of the brackets. I had been looking for a retractable type gate & this fit the bill. We installed it as close as the floor as we could because the bottom of this mesh gate can be broke through. I've had it up 2 days now & she hadn't escaped yet nor has my other cat came down. To reinforce the bottom I took some cardboard taped them together & put at the bottom on the other side. So, if she tried, she couldn't go anywhere because of the cardboard wedged between the stairs & gate. I can say this stray has about 3 brain cells, but she's so cute & loving. So I don't think she'll get through it. So the fort of cardboard boxes is gone for now & looks much cleaner! It does lock at the top as well! I installed it in a doorway of 36", it retracts nicely. My only complaint is that I wish there was a hard bottom, so little humans & animals can't get through. Other than that, I think it's great & worth the money!

This is amazing for a mother of multiples (children and dogs) like me! I have THREE extremely active boys (4, 3, and 2). I have TWO bully breed dogs. I just got this gate today, and after installing it properly I have to say I am impressed. The only complaint I have is that it’s not very tight, and I hope it doesn’t wear out over time (we shall see how that goes). My first impression wasn’t the best because my children somehow managed to rip it out of the wall after the first install this morning (turns out you need to make sure they are drilled properly into a stud, not just placed into the plastic pieces). I love the locking feature, and the retractability. So far so good now that it is properly installed.

Took a bit to install but good quality. Was missing a couple screws but nothing that couldn’t be remedied by a quick hardware store trip. Good quality

We use this retractable door to keep a cat out of certain rooms. We have a young cat who enjoys chewing electronic cords, so to keep her out of rooms and prevent risk of damage to electronics and shocks to her, my husband found these wonderful retractable doors. Prior to using the retractable door we were having to just close off doors in the house but it left those rooms either hot in the summer or cold in the winter. Using the retractable door has alleviated that problem because you get air flow thru it but still can keep whatever child or animal you need out of a certain area. Win, win!
