RØDE DeadCat VMP+ Windshield for VideoMic Pro+ Artificial Fur Wind Shield Furry Cover

It's a great fit and an excellent idea to completely swap out the foam windcover for a fur-covered wind cover. However, this does leave you with the quandary of where you should put, or whether to even keep, the original foam. The mic overall is Rode quality but it is larger and worth bearing that in mind for minimal setups.

If you have the slightest breeze it's going to get picked up by your shotgun mic. This dead cat helps reduce it, but not eliminate it. It's easy to fit and doesn't impact on the sound quality too much. A bit pricey for what it is though.

Really good bit of kit. Blocks out a lot of wind! I film on a golf course most of the time and there is no wind cover. Having this really helps!

Easy to fit and remove within seconds

This has come to my rescue several times when recording outside in windy conditions. Thoroughly recommended.

Not worth £40, took this to Cliffs of Dover an umbrella blocking majority of the very mild winds and it still didn’t help with the audio quality at all.

Fast delivery and a fantastic fit. Because it is not a universal dearest it covers th mic perfectly and th sound uality is amazing. I would recommend this product. 👍🏻

Très bon Dead-Cat, devrait remplacer la mousse par défaut du VideoMic Pro+ ! Utilisé dans diverses conditions, en extérieur et sous terre, en milieu humide, sous la pluie, ne nous a jamais fait défaut.

Perfect for the mountains

i use this deadcat all the time and it’s been rock solid. cuts wind noise down dramatically and makes a noticeable difference in audio quality, esp when shooting outdoors. it fits perfectly on my rode mic and stays secure without any issue (although i did almost lose it on a helicopter ride once). just one of those small accessories that makes a huge impact .. wouldn’t shoot without it
