i usually buy the cheap step drills but took a chance on this and will it cut through metal . buy one good one like this or 3 crappy ones .

This is a step drill bit for practically any size hole out of any material. I was really happy to get this. I've used it for wood and it works wonderful. I can just stop when the hole is big enough. I don't have to keep changing bits. Is machined well with no burrs and it cuts like butter. Hell of a deal for the price. Step bits always are a hit or miss. This was a hit for sure with it incredibly rigid design and high quality. It’s sharper than most. It has so many uses and functions. It works best with light weight metals but will drill through almost anything. I needed this for my shop and it has out some of my other bits to shame in performance.

This worked great to drill a perfect hole thru a plastic tub that my wife is making into a pond. The sizes are a tad small to read on the bit itself, so if you have difficulty reading small text, you may need a magnifying glass. I have only used it to drill thru hard plastic, so I cannot comment right now about the longevity of this product or how it would handle boring thru other materials, but for my project/material, I feel like this bit would be sharp enough to make 100+ holes.
