LOVE this QUALITY item .. great size .. happy
Where do i start? WELL packed, QUALITY ITEM, easy to put together. Very pleased with my purchase and definitely see this as an โinvestment. HONESTLY I started looking at electric grills and didnโt want to be spending more than $100 โ- TOTALLY recognize you get what you pay for. i use this grill 2- 5 times per week and every meal is spot on. Weber makes registering SN easy. They have an app for all sorts of goodies, that was a surprise. Again the quality of this item is really awesome and i am very happy with my purchase. I did use an oven thermometer inside and set at medium temp was a steady 275 degrees. I was pleased with how it maintained the temp even with opening the lid. Make sure you measure the size to make sure your table top where it will sit is big enough. This Q2400 is pretty big and will hold alot of food. I opted to get this model instead of Q1200 โBECAUSEโ it was bigger for kids, grandkids, family visiting for BBQ THANK YOU WEBER for holding a nice standard for quality UPDATE 09-14-2020 - STILL very pleased with my purchase. I use it about 5-6x a week. I grill chicken, fish, all sorts of veggies, all sorts of fruit and haven't missed a beat. LOVE THIS ITEM. Some folks growl about how it doesn't keep it's heat when you lift lid to turn or check on status. UMMMM, sort of to be expected same as any other grill you have. I don't notice much of a heat loss, maybe i am dumb i don't know. PLEASED BEYOND MEASURE WITH THIS THING.

Great grill for those who live in buildings with a balcony!
I have a decent size balcony and wanted to take advantage of having a grill to cook for the spring and summer days since I am a huge cooking fan, let alone grilling. Unfortunately as others have said, I cannot have gas nor charcoal due to flames and fire hazard. I was iffy on having an electric grill as I didn't think it would produce the results and grill marks as traditional grilling provides. Spent a ton of time researching and came across this grill. First off, it's a Weber. That is a very trusted brand within the bbq community and their regular grills are known to be top notch and of great quality. Plus reading the rave reviews here on how well this performed, I took a chance and ordered this. There is more than enough surface area to cook multiple items and all areas cook evenly thanks to the quality craftsmanship. The grates also create a nice grill mark on your favorite meats and veggies making it look very attractive. Two years later, this grill is still going on strong and working great. Still cooking all my favorite items with even heat distribution across the entire surface area. Cleanup isn't to bad as I've found myself lining up the pan with foil to let the grease go straight into the drip pan. I just need to clean the grates and replace the drip pan and we are good to go for the next cooking session. Highly recommend if you are in the market for an electric grill. You will not be disappointed.

A convincingly good product for this skeptic.
We recently moved to a high rise condo than bans propane and charcoal grilling on the veranda. The purchase of the Q 2400 felt like a forced/least preferable option to comply with fire and HOA regulations. Even reading the positive reviews, I was skeptical to say the least. After using the grill for two weeks, I have to reluctantly admit to being impressed. As other reviewers have stated, you need to allow 15-20 minutes for the grill to warm to cooking temperature. (Places it between charcoal and propane in terms of time period from ignition to grilling.) I found that the grill cooks evenly, and the end product tasted surprisingly good. You are able to get a decent char" on chicken, steaks, and veggies. The heat seems to be even at all points on the grill surface. And one feature I know is a plus - is not running out of propane in the middle of a grilling session. (Although I know propane and charcoal hold the advantage for cooking during power outages.) Construction is solid, including heavy porcelain coated cast iron grates that retain heat for searing. I purchased the Weber 6557 Q Portable Cart. I preferred this cart over the Webber 6525 Q Cart since the 6557 folds easily for storage if you have a grilling off season. The Q 2400 fits the bill nicely if you want to grill in a propane/charcoal free zone, and I would say even competes with propane for its ability to grill tasty meats and veggies. It has been a surprisingly good purchase. In summary, given the price, ease of use, quality, and grilling results,

6.5 year review - It's doing fine.
Purchased this unit (w/matching cart) over 6.5 years ago for use on a trussed-in patio where I couldn't (or shouldn't) use propane or charcoal. Good things: *-No gas or charcoal *-Easy start. Turn the control knob, it starts. *-Low maintenance. Just a controller and heating elements that really don't break. *- If you understand limitations of 120v/15a, it does an admirable job. *- Less smoke, no flare-ups to speak of. *- Good build quality. No so good things: *- Doesn't heat up fast *- Doesn't heat up that hot - limited by US 120V 15amp circuit, so not its fault. This designed for 240v 15 or 20 amp would be AWESOME. Would beat propane. *- Aluminum reflectors (bottom and top) are very hard to keep shiny and clean and no listed replacement parts I can find. They need to be shiny to reflect as much heat as possible. Other Things: *- The cart is fantastic for a stationary device, but not so great for a mobile cart. Unbalanced in motion only, gets caught on things, like grass when taking out on the lawn to hose things down. I would be hesitant to recommend if you are moving this unit any great distance every time you use it. If it is basically stationary with occasional need to move for cleaning, etc, it would do fine. *- If you need an extension cord, get 12AWG/3 conductor. Nothing less. *- My older unit did not come with a GFCI controller, new ones do. That's a good thing. Luckily, my outlet is GFCI protected. Conclusion: This is a good to great American electrical system ELECTRIC grill, with all its advantages and disadvantages. If this is the kind of device you need, this is worthy of your consideration.

Results very comparable to a gas grill
Our townhouse management company recently informed us of changes in local fire codes that meant that we could no longer have a grill that produced an open flame, doing in both my charcoal and gas grills. After some research I determined that the Weber Q2400 was probably the best choice for an electric grill. So far I have had very good success with it. As other reviews indicate, the grill takes 20+ minutes to heat up, about twice as long as a gas grill, but comparable in time to a charcoal grill. However, the needed cooking time is also reduced. I think the reason is that there is an element of convection cooking with the Q2400, something that is not true for a gas grill, but can be accomplished with a charcoal grill. The reduction is cooking time is roughly 20%. I am not able to tell the difference between this grill and a gas grill in terms of flavor. It is possible that there is some, but nothing like the flavor difference between charcoal and gas. The Q2400 is definitely able to sear food. I definitely miss my charcoal grill, but this is a great replacement for a gas grill.

Perfect for apartment patios
I am replacing the smaller Q1400 that I owned for 4 years. I loved that grill, but found it to be a bit small, even for our family of 2 older adults. The Q2400 is large enough to handle a dozen ears of corn or burgers plus a tray for veggies. Positive points: easy to set up, just plug it in and twist the dial. Easy cleanup. It all disassembles and is easy to clean. Gets hot enough to sear and leave nice grill marks. The enameled grates do not stick to food and brush clean easily. Negatives: Not many. The stand is expensive and not usable. We use it on a utility cart instead. There wasn't a ideal cover, so we had to improvise. The gas models have a side shelf, but this isn't an option on the electric models.

Great electric grill!!
After our big old gas grill went for a swim in the pool (Hurricane Matthew - who knew a grill could grow legs!) we decided it was time for a change. After reading other reviews, Amazon and elsewhere we gave this baby a try. Super easy to assemble, (which was not the case with the little cart/stand we bought with this) portable, and NO MORE GAS! It's perfect for two, but we could cook for four or six easily. Will fit a rack of ribs easily. This one gets hot! I was surprised at how quickly it heated, and stayed hot hot hot! The construction is very sturdy, the lid is heavy, which is why the heat is so good on this. We have cooked chicken breasts, which came out as flavorful and juicier than our old gas grill. The burgers we made, the same story. Best of all, we can keep it in the garage, and it can quickly wheel on to the front patio, plug it in and cook. Last week it was very windy, so we just wheeled it out to the back of the house, no problem. Living at the beach, we have gone through so many grills. It didn't matter what kind of cover we used, they all eventually rust after about 3 years, 4 if you're lucky, Clean up is so easy now. I would highly recommend this if you are thinking of going electric.

Yes, it can be used as a smoker
I've had this grill for 4 years now and it's been great. I use electric since my apartment complex doesn't allow open flames. I wondered if it could be used as a smoker so I gave it a try recently. Well, it worked beautifully. I used a tray to achieve "indirect" heat to smoke a 7 lb. pork butt;for pulled pork. To get the smoke I used a smoke tube and wood pellets. Since there isn't a way to automatically control the temperature, I used a wireless thermometer with one probe for the roast and one to monitor the temperature inside the grill. I adjusted the control knob to get 225 - 250 degrees. Then set the thermometer to send an alarm if it went below or above those temps. The meat probe was set to 190 degrees. I did have to babysit it and make adjustments but it wasn't too bad. It took 8 hours and the roast turned out perfectly. They say not to use it for more than an hour but I had no issues at those temps. The next day I did smoked wings, thighs, corn and smoked Mac n Cheese. Everything was great! I highly recommend this grill for anyone needing an electric grill.

Pleasantly Surprised.
A little down after moving into a condo and not being able to use gas. This little bbq has been great allowing me to forget the old bbq. I have cooked pork chops, hamburgers and sausages so far and I am very happy to say this Weber is worth every penny. Very easy to clean after each use and compact so not taking up a lot of room on balcony. Follow directions and heat up for 20 minutes. Adjustable temperature is great.

It does the job perfectly, like the previous one,
We got a Q2400 and is larger and more powerful than my previous one. Definitely easier to clean because the have the silver lining and they removable. Definitely a great improvement. Thank you Weber.

Great BBQ
Cooks great. Love it. This is my second 2400. My old 2400 lasted 8 years outside the whole time with no cover through wind, rain and snow since we used it all year long.

Quality but pricey
Living in an apartment that says you can only have electric barbecues leaves you with limited options but this BBQ works well. It is the second one of this type I have had over the years (Q140 previously. So this one is bigger and cleans much easier since the grills are shiny porcelain so not much sticks to them after burning it off. The inside aluminum pans also clean better than the previous version. It uses the same element as the smaller version (Q1400) so you might have to crank it up a little. Store the electric plug-in thermostat/heater part inside when not in use. I think that is why my previous one died after 5 years. All good, just wish it wasn't so pricey.

Awesome Electric Portable Grill
Better than expected. Heats quickly. Delicious chicken, steak and sausages BBQed so far. Grill marks! Almost the same as propane or gas. No flare ups, which is great for a condo deck. Highly recommend.
