Will this work for a mobile cb antenna hook up from the cb to the antenna cable?

Yes, the PL-259 on the cable will screw on to this adapter. The slide adapter end will fit a Standard SO-239 or female UHF series on the back of a radio. Thank you

Are these connectors capable of supporting Legal Limit of 1500 watts ? What is the specs on power handling ?

These are about the same as the PL-259,, however being a slip on connector we do not recommend it. If you are really running legal limit you want a nice tight secure fit and not a adapter designed for quick fit/push on action that can be subject to pulling out or loosening by pulling on it. Thanks

As for me, I would not recomend more than 100 watts. That's just me though.

you dont have to solder the coax to make a connection using on scanner coax RG8x

A PL-259 or UHF Male connector will screw onto the female side of this adapter. The male side of this adapter when will slip onto a UHF female or SO-239 connector. Coax does not attach directly to this adapter, that is not what is it designed for.
