The product etches copper beautifully esp when citric acid is added. It works on brass as well

I have had no issues with the quality of this item.

Due to FEDEx screwing up the shipping information I thought that my purchase would arrive a week late. I contacted Cesco directly and got a near immediate response. They assured me that they were doing everything they could to track my order. It turned out that the tracking info was wrong and my product was at my house the day after the expected date. This was no small feat considering I'm in NC and we (like many other) were hit so hard by the hurricane. Cesco reached out to me multiple times on a personal level. Not with canned responses like so many others do. They could not have been more helpful. As far as the product itself goes I just started using it but so far it's etching wonderfully. I will never buy my Ferric from anyone else. They have earned a lifelong customer.

I use this product for etching/darkening knives, works like a charm especially in pattern welded steel, but also to reveal temper lines in hardened steel, useful when restoring vintage axes or blades. My order was lost in the mail to no fault of the seller, I reached out to them explaining the situation and a replacement was at my door in a matter of days. just what was needed for Damascus knives.

I purchased this to etch carbon steel knives and it works like a charm. I was using vinegar before, but I got tired of messing with heating it up to speed the reaction. The ferric chloride resulted in a nice, dark etch in just a few minutes. Packaging could have been better as the tops were caved in like they'd been dropped 10ft onto the lids of the containers, but surprisingly there were no leaks. Good deal for the volume you get. Will buy again.
