Great big tent at a great price
We like to camp and decided it was time to take our camping game up a notch and make it more comfortable. Enter the Coleman Montana 8P tent. This is marketed as an 8 person tent, so we knew it would have plenty of room for two adults and a large yellow lab. Setup: It's doable with one person, but much easier with two. With two it took us about 15 minutes to setup the first time. The instructions are very clear and are sewn into the tent bag. The tent poles are color coded and we found they required a bit of effort to get them into place. There is also a tent pole that inserts into the door frame which is a feature we haven't seen before, but we do like it. The last item to install is the tent fly, which takes about 5 minutes and is fairly easy to do. Features: Space - this tent is huge! We first placed an area rug in the tent. Next, we were able to fit an inflatable queen size mattress on one end (the bedroom) with a small nightstand and dog bed. On the other side we placed an inflatable love seat, coffee table, and end table. Talk about glamping! The tent has plenty of mesh and we found the tent has excellent ventilation. There are also two small pockets for placing items as well as a ceiling hook. Construction: We found the tent to be good quality with good quality materials. We did examine all of the stitching and did find some pin holes at several locations. We purchased Coleman seam sealer and used it to close up these pin holes and are hopeful this step will make the tent waterproof. We found the door with the tent pole to be a neat idea. During the day, you can simply open and close the door without using the zipper. We do like this feature. When it's time to turn in, we used the zipper to secure the door for the night. We found it a little difficult to operate the door zipper as the flap got in the way. Since we only have to do this in the evening and morning, or if we're leaving for the day, we didn't find this to be much of an issue. Conclusion: We love our Montana 8P tent. It's so nice to have an abundance of space to hang out in after a day of hiking / exploring. We think the Coleman Montana offers a lot of tent for the money. We would recommend this tent to others.

Huge, quality tent.
This tent is very big! It is marketed as an eight-person tent which means it can comfortably sleep four adults with gear. It was pretty easy to set up and even though my wife and I are amateurs, we were able to do it in about 30 minutes. The instructions (sewn into the bag) are clear and easy to understand. The tent poles are color coded to match the seams of the sleeves that they go inside. The poles are fiberglass, so I recommend wearing gloves to prevent splinters. I especially like the poles that are inserted into the tent door. These are optional, but they make the door function like a real door instead of just a flap which allows for much easier passage. The rainfly has a covered entry area and there is a small door mat included in the package. The tent fabric and seams appear to be well made and with some care should last a long time. The floor seams are about four inches off the ground and so should provide good water protection. Most of the top of the tent is mesh, so without the rain fly, there is plenty of ventilation and a good view of the night sky. There is a window at each end of the tent and in the door, so even with the fly installed, there is still decent ventilation. The zippers all operated smoothly. There are few amenities inside the tent, only two small pockets and a single roof hook. I would have liked to see a couple more roof hooks for lights and maybe two extra pockets. I think a fabric divider at midpoint of the tent would also have been nice to offer a little privacy. The tent is tall enough for me to stand up straight (I'm six feet). There is a cord port that looks like it would prevent water entry short of flooding. Packing the tent up was very easy and took about 20 minutes. Though I think it might be possible, and I tried hard to do it, I was unable to get the tent folded back into its original size. Thankfully, the bag is designed to be expanded, once I did that, the tent fit inside easily and really wasn't all that much bigger. Still, it's a big tent and rather heavy, so I wouldn't want to have to carry it in a backpack, I think the main use of it is going to be for car camping families and for this, I think it is an excellent choice.

Very spacious and held up to an evening of constant rain in the PNW.
Recieved as gift after stuffing family of 4 into small dome tent...this tent is Very spacious. Fit 1 queen air mattress for adults, 1 queen camp matt for kids, large dog bed and a full sized clothes suitcase with plenty of room to maneuver around everything. Set up in the rain solo in less then 30 minutes with only 1 test set up beforehand. As with all tents repacking was a pain, but was able to reroll and stuff it back into carry bag on 2nd attempt.

A Coleman what else need I say
Although most go camping in the summer, the family loves to go in the fall and even winter here in Florida. With a family of 5 this Coleman Montana tent handled everything we threw at it. The tent is really large. There is enough room to have it set up as two separate rooms. One for mom and dad and a side for the kids. The height inside at its tallest point is tall enough that we can stand up and walk around and I'm 5'8". The lowest point is on the sides and that is a little less than 5'. The tent is fully ventilated through the mesh roof and the two windows on each end and one on the front door of the tent. If weather permits, the rain fly can be left off for sleeping under the stars with a mosquito net above you. The rain fly covers the whole tent and provides a covered front porch. Set up was fairly easy with two people. It took us about 22 minutes and that was without any practice. Taking the tent down was just as easy in about 17 minutes. The tent packs up into its own bag and weights about 22lbs. I haven't tested the tent for rain proofing but that will come. Overall, there are a number of good things about this tent (price being just one) but with some additional features (a back window, more loops to hang lights, more inside pockets) it would be a great tent.

Great for car camping and more...
I don't know who put together the product page for this tent here on Amazon, but it's all kinds of wrong.... This tent is 16'x7' horizontally, not the unlikely dimensions listed in the product description (27.75"L x 9.5"W x 9.25"H). It weighs about 22 pounds. You can stand up inside. It's a big tent. It's also a great tent for family camping. I was looking at reviews of the tent and the review at GearLab dinged this tent for its lack of windows--just one at either end and the door. They complained about the lack of a view from the inside of the tent. It makes me wonder if they've ever actually gone camping.... I don't care about views when I'm in my tent. I despise big plastic windows that are leak points waiting to happen. I want waterproof, and the windows, rainfly and floor on this tent are all designed to stand up to harsh weather. Once you've been out at night in a tent in the wilderness with a torrential thunderstorm washing through your camp site you'll care more about waterproof and sturdy in your tent than its views. This tent's polyethylene floor is great for sturdy watertightness. And to be doubly secure, you can add an interior tarp for good measure... Fiberglass poles (there are seven, in total) are what you expect in a tent like this. When erect and fully staked, the tent has good stability against wind. Putting the tent up can be done by one person, but it's easier with two. This isn't North Face. This is Coleman. It's for family use, not wilderness trekking. But for its purposes, it's just an all-round solid, capable and useful tent.

Coleman Montana 8P Family Tent - Trusted brand for generations!
I like to tell people the first picture of me out camping is a photo of my mom sitting by the campfire, 8.5 months pregnant, because it’s true. That was 1968, and I haven’t missed a year since. I broke up with a guy in college l because I found out he hated camping. I’m that serious. Coleman products have been there with me every year, on every trip, every time. I’ve done every kind of camping from wilderness backcountry to motor home with all the bells and whistles. This tent is an OG luxury tent. It’s really great for actually camping in. It’s thoughtfully designed, easy to put up and rugged. I trust it’s going to last as long as I need it to and I plan to enjoy it for many, many seasons to come. It’s just the two of us now, so this tent is ideal for luxury tent camping. Way too heavy to pack in without four legs or four wheels, but just the right size for quick trips to the park for a few days. We can set up part of it as a “living” area and have the bed a ways away in case someone wants to stay up and read. The opportunity for venting is MASSIVE. You should be able to be comfortable, given the wide variety of options with this tent. This is a functional, durable tent and will be an enjoyable place to call “home” for a few days at a time. It was easy and quick to assemble. Tough, high-quality materials. Five stars.

Tent is Ass
Tent is great for 1 time use. Awful quality, material tears and rips so easily. 1 Tent pole snapped on disassembly without being rough at all, to top it all off. It's near impossible to fit in the provided Tent bag. Be careful with the Tent poles they will poke right through the Tent, I have 2 new holes in my first use

Surprisingly Large Tent
The Coleman Montana 8P Family Tent with Waterproof Rainfly & Expandable Carry Bag is Big! I was able to pitch the tent with my 4 year old (so practically by myself). The Putting two sleeping pads/air mattresses in here would still leave a very spacious middle area. I am 6 feet tall and can lay down flat length and width wise. I can also stand up. The door mechanism is a little odd. I don’t love the way the zippers work. They can be hard to find the way the seams overlap. My preference is to have tent polls attach at the corner so that the full footprint is pushed out. This tent connects short of the corners. So to staking is required to keep the corners out. The tent is packed very tight in the bag it comes with and is unlikely to ever fit back in. Lots of air flow when the rain fly is off - great for a warm/clear day. I plan on enjoying this tent and camping more with it.

Grande pero no tanto
Es una tienda grande, no para 8 como dice pero si para 4 cómodos. Los materiales son de buena calidad. Necesitas mínimo 2 personas para montarla y desmontarla.
