Reasonably priced, good sound, and works well for watching Apple TV with wired headphones
I decided to switch back to wired headphones and earbuds after using my AirPods Pro for the last couple years. I got tired of having to deal with 3 separate batteries beside my phone’s. However one of my favorite uses for my AirPods Pros was their ease at connecting to Apple TV for watching content without disturbing anyone else. There’s not really any easy way to connect wired headphones to a modern HDTV or Apple TV, so I decided to look into Bluetooth receivers I could plug my wired headphones into that can then connect to the Apple TV wirelessly. This FiiO BTR11 model seemed to be the best reviewed one for the most reasonable price. It works really well! It’s really intuitive to connect to the Apple TV. I connected it once through the Bluetooth settings and now whenever I turn it on it automatically connects. That’s actually more intuitive than the AirPods because you have to press the home button on the remote to confirm you’d like to connect them. Since I really only plan to use this thing to watch my Apple TV exclusively connection should continue to be effortless. It’s got volume controls which is nice, and a multi-function button that can play, pause, turn the unit on and off, and I assume re-enter pairing mode but I haven’t tried that yet. The DAC and amp have plenty of power, they have little trouble driving my HyperX Cloud 3 gaming headset which are surprisingly high impedance hard to drive for a gaming headset. They of course drive my JBL Tone 110 earbuds effortlessly to my usual listening level at only half volume. There is also no latency on video content which is handled by the Apple TV automatically adding a few tens of milliseconds delay to compensate. There is a slight delay on the browsing sounds in the menu that I don’t think the AirPods have but that doesn’t matter. They also have much more range than the AirPods, I can move around to almost any room in the house and it doesn’t glitch or drop connection from the Apple TV. Battery life seems to be solid, and of course it’s easily rechargeable by USB C. The spring clip on the back is nice too, I can clip it to my shirt pocket and it stays out of the way while I’m watching TV. There’s also a built-in mic for phone calls but I probably won’t really use that feature. Overall very happy with it, especially for the price. I got the green “Snowsky” branded version and I like the color, it’s brighter than pictured, a sort of avacado and I like it because it’s unique among electronic devices these days.

Breathed New Life Into My Wired Headphones
This little adapter has exceeded my expectations. I bought it so I could use my favorite wired over-ear headphones with my smartphone and smart TV, and it works exactly as I had hoped. Being able to enjoy the sound quality of good wired headphones without being tethered by a cable is incredibly convenient. The audio quality is excellent, and I haven't noticed any lag while watching TV from across the room. The Bluetooth connection has been completely stable, and the battery life has been more than enough for my listening sessions. I was also pleasantly surprised by how small it is—it ended up being about a third the size I was expecting, making it easy to clip on and forget it's even there. Overall, this is one of those products that solves a problem so well that you wonder why you didn't buy it sooner. If you have a great pair of wired headphones that you'd like to use wirelessly, I can recommend this without hesitation.

Excellent sound, but a bit fragile
This little device is great! It works very well for music with my in-ear monitors. I used it with the KZ S10 Pro and the cable that came with them. Sound quality is great, good highs and lows, latency is low, so no major delay in the sound while watching videos. Buttons are responsive, if a little squishy. Battery life is also pretty good. I was able to make it through my 8-10 hour work day without having to charge the unit. There are two cons to this device, though. 1: The microphone is awful. Do not try to use this for taking calls. The person on the other end either will not be able to hear what is being said, or, if they can hear that SOMETHING is being said, they most likely will not be able to understand. The few calls that I did take using the device were not good. I was told it souded like I was shouting to them from the other end of a very long hallway, or that I had them on speakerphone and was very far away from my phone. The device was clipped to my collar directly under my mouth. I feel that there should have been no issues hearing and understanding me at that small distance. 2: The clip on the back is cheap plastic and will not hold up to even regular use for very long. I was able to take this to work with it clipped to either the collar of my shirt or clipped to my pocket for about a month before the plastic bracket snapped. This isn't an expensive device, and I understand that cheap is cheap, but I expected a bit better out of the clip. Overall, it's a good value for the price, as LDAC headphone adapters are usually expensive items, and the sound is great. Just don't expect it to be able to take any sort of abuse.

Excellent so far!
So, I’ve had this for a day. As usual, I always read all the 1 star reviews before I buy anything. It can point out potential weak spots in an item, and it can be amusing, too! Anyway, I received the product, and as so often happens, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this product, which left me scratching my head over some of the negative reviews. It was smaller than I expected, about the size of my pinky finger and a little wider. Tiny! The headphone jack fit is very tight and secure. It seats as it should. The USB-C port fit is tight and secure, and my cable clicked into place solidly when I charged the device. The button feel is solid and operationally works as advertised. The pocket clip could be beefier (as some other reviewers noted), especially as this unit is so tiny and light. But even with that being said, the headphone jack plugs in so securely that even if this thing falls out of a pocket, it’s not going anywhere unless you step on it. That probably wouldn’t do it any good, lol. But no way would it become detached from the headphones. Pairing was super quick and reliablewith the 3 devices I tried it on. The led indicator shows when it’s in pairing mode, the charge state and the selected bluetooth codec used. I ran it for 3 straight hours right out of the box without charging, then I charged it to full. During that time, no glitches, disconnects or other interference at all. I haven’t yet tested how far the Bluetooth range limit is, but during my initial test I got about 50 feet away from my transmitting device without any dropouts. I think the sound quality is better than a couple similar older devices I have, and I thought those sounded fine. For what it is and the price point, I’m very happy! For reference, my listening tests are using the LDAC codec transmitting from a Hi-Rez audio player through Focal studio headphones. The unit received and processed the LDAC codec as shown by it’s LED display. I am an audio engineer and a recording studio owner. I also do electronic repair. I point this out because I am a “trained” listener, and I have access to some very high-end audio equipment to compare to. So, while this doesn’t sound as good as when my ridiculously expensive studio headphones are plugged direct into my mastering grade headphone amp in the studio, I don’t expect it to. But I do get a very pleasant, high fidelity listening experience with no background noise that I can discern. Of course, overall reliability, reliability of the Bluetooth connection, battery life and overall product life are still in the “who knows” stage, and these are some of the things pointed out by the negative reviews. As always, I’ll amend this review if something changes. But hell, for the price, the technology blows me away. The sound quality blows me away. Even the build quality is acceptably solid from what I can initially tell.

Great little adapter for the price
Great quality product. Nice and small, has a clip, and has a decent range for connections. The battery is alright, usually lasting about 6-8 hours of listening. It has 3 buttons and plays loud enough that usually it doesn't need to be maxed out.

Perfect for making wired headphones wireless
I have only used it for a day but if it ever breaks I will update this review accordingly. Flawlessly connects to my computer and pretty good audio quality. Mic is not very good but that was pretty much expected as its surprising to me that it even has one at all. Battery life is good so far, seems to probably last about a day of use, I bought 2 of them so I can hotswap them whenever one dies. Using it with my HD 599s to make them wireless and it perfectly suits that task. Its also extremely lightweight to the point I might just try attaching a little magnetic strip to my headphones and the btr11 so i can just slap it on and plug it in with a short wire, but for now the clip it has works perfectly for attaching to my headphones as well.

Works with Linux - but too tedious
Update: Initially I gave it 4/5 but I've revised it to 2/5 because I am tired of having to reconnect it (which is a tedious process). Having owned this for a few months, I think the fatal flaw of this device is the way it is programmed: when disconnected it waits for ~1 min before it begins to look for a new device and goes into pairing mode. When this happens, thereafter it will not reconnect smoothly with my pc and I have to start over, forget device, trust, pair, run the bt-device command below... This is why I noticed in my review below, I didn't have problems so long as I turned the fiio off before turning my laptop off - but yeah, I don't always remember and I'm tired of it. As far as I know, this is not normal behavior for a bluetooth device and bad design on Fiio's part. Fiio if you're reading this, I don't think this is too hard to fix for a ver 2.0 of this product. I wouldn't mind a dedicated "connect" button for pairing too. Original review: This is a nice and inexpensive wireless receiver. Sound quality is good. Range is ok. Battery life is decent - and I like that I can plug it into charge while I am using it. I am using this with laptop with Linux Mint 22.1, realtek bluetooth 5.3. Initially it wouldn't connect to my computer, I had to do the following for it to work for me: 1) In your bluetooth manager (blueman-manager): search for it, pair with it, trust it. (maybe it works for you after this step, in which case you're done) 2) Install bluez-tools: "sudo apt-get install bluez-tools" 3) Use "bt-device -l" to find its mac address OR right click it in blueman and choose "info" to get it 4) Now type: "bt-device -c 00:00:00:00:00:00" (put your mac address instead of 00:00.....) 5) In my case, after step 4 it asked yes/no about a passkey, just type "y" (see photo) I have had to remove/forget the device a few times and repeat these steps to get it working again. Seems to me the issue is related to whether or not I shut the laptop off without turning off this receiver first. So long as I turn it off before turning the laptop off, it comes back no problem. While I know Linux's poor bluetooth handling is partly to blame, I have other bluetooth devices that never skip a beat in terms of connecting 100% of the time.

Good Enough
Ok, great price for money. This replaced a more expensive and feature filled similar Bluetooth DAC that kept failing on me. The audio quality is not quite as good as that one but this is good enough for government work. I use this with some Chinese IEMs and I have to max out the volume on a walk on a busy street but its good enough. Like most of these dinguses the buttons are annoying, and turning this on and off is annoying. Why do I have to hold the power button for so long? The indicator light is basically useless I have no idea what its indicating most of the time and its always blinking. The battery on this is just good enough for a full day's usage (for me like six hours). I would want more but its like fine just remember to plug it in when you get home. Finally, this thing very rarely (once every two weeks) goes into a failure mode where it stops playing audio, and won't respond to any button input either to turn on or off. It stays in this mode for about 15 minutes where I can't do anything but eventually reboots itself. This should never happen and it sucks when I just wanna go on a walk or a run or whatever but man compared to my old bluetooth dingus (Qudelix 5K) I much prefer this failure mode than BLASTING MY EAR DRUMS. Despite all these issues this is still getting daily usage for me. Its not great, its got major issues. But for my admittedly very heavy usage this is just soooo good enough. Wish someone would make one of these thingies that are built for constant usage but for the price just treat this thing like it'll break eventually. Nobody else makes anything that hits this price point and quality.

Cinco estrellas.

Good performer, but pricy.
Nice little gadget. Very useful. Sound quality also good. 4.5k price shall be reasonable. 5k and Above not justified.
