they were exactly what i was expecting. they look exactly like what is pictured. they are not true black but a little dark greyish tone like the picture. they are nice and heavy with some sort of felt like material on the bottom so they dont scratch the surface of the table. the felt doesnt cover the whole bottom, so you have to be careful when you set them down on the table.they hold big drinks, like a powerade 32 oz bottle (they might be a little too small for gatorade 32 oz bottle). they are a little bit thinner than i thought they would be, but they do look nice. the cups dont stick to the coaster when you pick them up. something i wouldnt be embarrassed to have out when guest come over. i would recommend this product. they were shipped fast and the packaging was up to par.

These look great , are durable- I actually dropped one on a concrete floor and not even a crack, and wick the moisture from the glasses into the stone. Im glad I bought 2 sets in case I drop one and it does break

These arrived looking exactly as pictured. Flat slate stone coasters with a thin felt backing. They look nice and work just fine. Drink rings wipe off with a damp cloth. The edges and corners can be a little sharp, so we put them up when our toddler granddaughter visits.

These coasters are beautiful, elegant and match my living room well (modern). They -are sturdy but they are skate so need to handle accordingly.

I really like these coasters. I was looking for something with a simple design that wouldn't clash with other colors in my apartment. I definitely got that with these coasters. I think they combine form and function really well. They have a very cool and modern look and they actually absorb moisture! When I bought them, I was skeptical about this feature, but I must say, these coasters do a great job of absorbing condensation. I haven't had them for very long, but I have not yet noticed any water rings on the coaster surfaces after the water dries, which I know was a complaint of some reviewers. One possible negative is that, as many other reviews have said, mine also are much more jagged/rough around the edges than the ones in the product picture. I don't find this to be a problem, although I do think they look a little less "fancy" or polished with the more ragged edges. HOWEVER, If you have little kids in the house, I would definitely avoid these coasters. While the edges aren't exactly sharp, I could easily see a young child scraping or cutting a hand or finger on the rough edges if they tried to handle them. All in all, I like these coasters and I'm keeping them. I would recommend them to someone who's looking for coasters that are simple but stylish, but if you have young children, I would suggest you look at something else.

These coasters certainly look nice, and they are reasonably priced in my opinion. It will definitely keep moisture/rings off your table, which is the point of coasters so in that regard they do a good job. My problem with these coasters is twofold: first, as other reviewers have mentioned, rings will often accumulate on the coasters. Second, since they are slate, the moisture from the bottom of your glass doesn't go anywhere. You will end up with a puddle on your coaster, and when you go to take a sip the bottom of your glass will drip. Overall they look nice but they just don't function as well as I expected. I would not buy these again, if I had to order coasters now I would do some standard rubber ones.

The good: Functional coasters that work as intended. They "absorb" condensate water well enough. Also look pretty cool in my opinion. The bad: As someone else said, 2 of my 4 coasters also came with an uneven ridge or warp on the bottom. The felt is too thin to compensate and the result is a noticeable "rocking" when you set a drink down. It is like a table with uneven legs. Not a big deal, but when you pay $17, you expect better quality. Other: Mine came with a more jagged appearance than pictured. They are still perfectly square, but all around the border there are layers of slate chipped off. It does not effect the functionality because the majority is flat, and they look more...handcrafted...that way. If you have little kids who like to grab and throw things, these could be a little dangerous. They are not that heavy, but have rather sharp corners.

These are very nice and functional coasters. Much better than the trash you find in Walmart. Adds a taste of class to our family room, and can be left out as they are not an eye sore. Edges are a little sharp, and there is a layer of felt on the bottom to keep from scratching furniture. We have been using for about 2 months, and really pleased with both performance and aesthetics.

I love a natural element in my home decor, these have held up great over the past few months. Five stars.

These aren't super high end looking but they're funky and stylish. I've been using them for a few months now and have found nothing wrong with them. The felt padding underneath has held up and no chips. My only complaint, a teeny weeny one, is that ring marks seem impossible to clean entirely off. But, for the price paid these are great!

These were ok. They serve their purpose. They are a bit thinner than I expected. Also a little fragile. Although they look real nice on my side tables. One of the corners on one of the coasters was broken off when I got them.
